tkrol comments on How do mortgages work in Colombia?

I'm Glad I Found This Place I found this site earlier today. I recently married my fiancee in Cali (her hometown) at the end of May and what a great experience. I've been to Cali with her several times now and we're looking at starting a business in the area. We are looking for a finca outside of Cali (so I thought this the most appropriate thread to throw my 2 cents into). I am very interested in hearing more about interest rates, down payments, insurance, utilities, etc. Any thoughts or information would be very helpful. We plan on going back in October this year to see her family again.
