tejasmarcos comments on Medellin Mansion Continued tomtom - medellin is not cartagena as you well know. the people who live in the upper stratas here are very conservative. they let things slide that are kept hush hush - like prostitution. however, they begin to take notice when 5-6 gringos are walking around with 8-10 scantilly dressed hookers in parque lleras. this was probably the trigger for the media interest and subsequent pressure on politicians here to do something about "the perceived problem".

* derrumbes are probably the biggest threats to your safety in colombia, or atleast antioquia.

tejasmarcos comments on think outside the box. this was shot 45 minutes outside of medellin. never have i seen mountain pine & cedar growing beside fields of banana. the rays of the sun are as intense as i have ever felt and the views are national park worthy. the silence of the area puts you in a place we commonly refer to as "god's country".
* i have about 20 of these, but photos do this area no justice, atleast not with my camera. i could see valleys and mountain tops for in excess of 200 miles. all emerald green with blue overtones. hawaii is the only place that comes close to this type of beauty - atleast in my limited travels.
