I'm so stoked. Now all I need to do is decide where I'm going. Since I'm planning to visit family in Barranquilla. I'll probably try to spend my time near the coast. Am I a Colombian Citizen?

Hi everyone,

This question has probably been answered before but I haven't been able to find an answer in any of my searches. I was born in the United States buy my father is Colombian. Does this make me a Colombian citizen also? I'd like to get my citizenship if possible since I would be interested in working and living in Colombia at some point in the future and I think this would make that process somewhat easier.

Pienso visitar Colombia en Mayo/Junio o Agusto. Mi padre nacio en Barranquilla pero se mudo a los EeUu hace muchos anos. Cuando visito me gustaria juntarme con algunos familiares que nunca e tenido la oportunidad de conocer. Alguin sabe si hay un directorio en la ciudad de Barranquillo (o mejor un sitio de internet) donde puedo buscar familiares con mi mismo apellido? No creo que sera tan dificil porque tengo un apellido muy raro que se encuentra en pocos lados.
