sillybutt comments on Why do Colombian men always eat fast and clean their plate?

Hahaha...this is so funny! (Just came across this post now). My "novio" eats extremly fast and makes noises with every bite indicating how much he's enjoying his meal.

sillybutt comments on It's Columbia not Colombia.

I guess it depends if you want to sound foreign or "Colombian".

sillybutt comments on URGENT -- Getting married in December to a Colombian in a Catholic Church and I'm a Christian!

Why don't you make it easy on yourself and just ask the person that would know...the priest you have scheduled to marry you! Everyone is going to give you different answers because everyone has had different experiences and it's not worth the stress. Let us know what you are told in your situation.

Why did no one mention the importance of time? I'm trying to be less of a slave to the clock, but am afraid that is going to be the biggest hurdle for my Colombian boyfriend to conquer when he moves to the states.

sillybutt comments on Anyone going to be at the Feria de Cali this December?

I plan to get there on the 25th or the 26th...

sillybutt comments on Americans in Cali?!?!?!

I agree...living right off "The Miracle Mile" of shopping in Chicago, I don't understand why people go anywhere just to shop...or go to Westernized Nightclubs

sillybutt comments on What do you think of Caleños?

Yes, he is...and, I figured the one I wanted to show it to already saw it. My BF's not a piece of meat for gosh-sakes...hahaha! He would actually kill me if he knew I was posting his pics here. But, you can always see in my MySpace...

sillybutt comments on SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU

Okay...you can't really bathe PERIOD for a couple days after surgery. But that is ONLY because of the stitches and dressings. You can TOTALLY stand on your own even just after surgery (although the lipo does make it a bit painful, but you HAVE TO move/walk as per post-surgery instructions to prevent blood clots). I walked/shuffled around the block the day after my surgery. Again, it's not that big of a deal. I'm a Personal Trainer/Aerobics Instructor and I was back to training my clients and teaching (although with limited movement, I was still teaching) just over a week after I had each surgery. The first few days or so, you sleep a lot, so you don't need anyone around (and probably don't even WANT anyone around...especially a stranger!) Just have lots of movies/books/magazines/etc and phone nearby for when the Doctor rings to check on you. The biggest issue I had was that I was nauseous...but that was only because of the pain pills. Encourage your friends to do more research...sounds as if they are totally focused on having "the perfect body" instead of the surgery/process. These are the types of people that end up with botched jobs and/or getting ripped off. If they research the process and procedure, they will know these basics about the surgery itself and the process enough to know that paying someone to "take care of them" is senseless.

sillybutt comments on I would love to travel to Colombia to get Breast Enlargement & Tummy Tuck. Know a Great Doctor!

Hahaha! No, but if I was male, I would have to fully investigate before hitting on a hottie in some neighborhoods! Actually, I know of a great Dr. in Cali, if that is the question. PM me if you would like the info. And, DEF stay away from 3rd party agencies, such as what was stated in the previous post.

You can get it all done in Cali! They have the best transvestites I've ever seen!

sillybutt comments on Americans in Cali?!?!?!

Of course...I'm a little jokester myself! Thus, the name, "Sillybutt". Yes...I'm already familiar with Chipichape. I think my fiance and I were there six or seven times during my two week stay last time. I ran through the water!

sillybutt comments on Americans in Cali?!?!?!

hahaha! OMG...how much fun would I have with the futball team?!?! hahaha Whenever I've been to Colombia, I was called, "Gringa"...so, "How many 'Gringos/Gringas' will be in Cali from end of December until March?!?!) For those of you that are going to be there...let's share and arepa!!! You can reach me at: Bridget at Bridget-Thomas.com Thank you for the well-wishes. He's an amazing man...

sillybutt comments on SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU

There is no need for someone to wait on you hand and foot after plastic surgery...trust me, I've had it done. The reason the doctors want you to stay close by is to make sure there aren't any complications and that you are healing correctly. It's really not a big deal. I didn't even take any pain meds after the second day... When will she be having the surgery? If it is during the time I am there (end of December until March), I'd be more than happy to be a contact. Especially since I've had it done and have several friends that I've sat and watched movies with while they recovered. You can get in touch with me (if you have any questions...I've had a couple surgeries and currently have a friend who had surgery in Cali five days ago!): Bridget at Bridget-Thomas.com

sillybutt comments on Perception of the white-looking foreign female or "gringa" en Colombia

Having recently been to Cali, to visit my Colombian fiance, I can tell you that I did have people starring at me on the streets and in the clubs. Everyone was very warm and welcoming to me. I did have it happen more than a few times where a child would come running up to me and just stop and stare. My fiance kept telling me, "they think you are Cinderella". At Chipichape mall, I did catch a couple teenagers take a picture of us with their camera phones, but not sure if it was of me or my fiance (he's famous there). We did stop and listen to a comedian performing in the park, and a few minutes after we arrived, he stopped his show, turned, pointed and yelled "GRINGA!" which got a big laugh (especially out of me because it was so obvious...I'm very blonde and light-skinned, Polish decent). When I returned I found that Colombians on myspace were very excited about my travel blogs and encouraged me to "let the world know" how beautiful their country is.
