SHBLatin comments on Starting AOS and confused about the I-693

Sorry but still no go... I am getting pissed off at these so called civil surgeons. I have called many here and they say it will require a full exam at about $150+. She had a full exam less that 5 month ago and this paperwork is in some USCIS black hole... Who knows where this stuff goes....
It states clearly in the instructions that the full exam is not needed if she has had an exam with the past year. How do you prove to these doctors the she did have an exam if the documents are sealed and are located somewhere on earth.
Does anyone know a civil surgeon in the Miami or Fort Lauderdale?

SHBLatin comments on Starting AOS and confused about the I-693

Still confused.... OK....
When she arrived in the US she was given a yellowish card that is titled...
"Organizacion Mundial De La Salud
World Health Organization
Organisation Mondiale De La Sante

Certificado International De Vacunacion"
so on....
Stapled to this yellow card is a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of papper titled...
" US Department of State
Vaccination Documentation Worksheet"
This form is spreadsheet like and has a list of vaccine with check boxes and check marks and so on that was given to her back in Colombia. This for is very similar to this other form I have called... "Supplemental Form to I-693".

My first question is do I need to submit this Supplemental Form to I-693 for the AOS process? Or is the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet sufficiant?

This Supplemental Form to I-693 form requires that it be signed by a Civil Surgeon. I have called the Civil Surgeons from the website posted earlier and either they are retired or they have not got a clue to what I am talking about. Does anyone know of a Civil Surgeon or how this process works?

Any clarifications here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

SHBLatin comments on I-94 and Catch 22!!! Help Please

We just went there and filled out the application and in a week or 2 it arrived.

SHBLatin comments on I-94 and Catch 22!!! Help Please

I guess I need to clarify....
She got a SS card about 2 weeks after she arrived with no problems We just want to make the name change.
Now that we got the marriage certificate back(today) we are filling the EAD and the AOS.

So what do I do about the name change if the I-94 is expired?

SHBLatin comments on one way ticket

return ticket Does the return ticket have to be the same airline? Or can they be different carriers.?

Thanks

SHBLatin comments on one way ticket

So wait a minute..... My novia, with an "approved K1 visa" is moving here next month and I plan to buy a one way to the US. How in the world can an airline dictate a purchase of a round trip ticket when she is moving here???

Is this usual?

I plan is to buy a ticket with AeroPostal, one-way which is cheap. Any out there have any info about AeroPostal?

Thanks

SHBLatin comments on embassy interview

My interview is Monday I will definitely be there. So far it has been a piece of cake and now is not the time to slack. Plus I want to experience it so that I may write a little post about the process to help others.

SHBLatin comments on Temperatures and Central Heating in Bogota

Forget the cenral heating! I do not care about central heating. What really amazes me is that my novia takes a cold shower even though she has a hot water heater!!!!(she does not turn it on) Taking a cold shower does not even phase her. I would be screaming like I just fell out of an airplane.!!!! I can not do it. I force her to turn on the water heater for me.

SHBLatin comments on Comments or experience with Visa Interview process

My novia was actually at the embassy to pick up packet 4 and they told her that it was not necessary for the fiance to attend.
That post at visajourney was ver good. I hope to post a detailed article after our interview so that others can benefit.
My novia and I talked on the phone last night and we practiced our responses to questions.
I then play a joke on her and said they may ask you "What is his favorite position. I was suprised at the response!

SHBLatin comments on Barraquer Clinic

Thanks Miamimike
I am in the Fort lauderdale area. Do you know where I can find more info about this. Can you tell me where you get your hair cut so that I can talk with the manacurist who had it done?

My novia is looking for more info also in Bogota and she will go there and collect more docs.

Thanks

SHBLatin comments on K1 process APPROVED

WHAT! Her bags are packed!

Just kinding. This was just the NOA 2. But for me I was concerned about this because of issues I have like the IRS.

I do not think the interview will be a problem because I will be there. From what I read, my presence there at the interview is very important.

SHBLatin comments on Best calling card from the U.S. to Buenaventura?

I have used many calling cards and I believe that Pingo is the best. I have used various calling cards you buy at stores and I have used various online calling cards and I believe that Pingo.com is the best so far.
I can call Bogota for only .04 per minute, online recharge and online call details. You can register your phone number and you never have to put in a pin number. and the quality is good. Over the past 1 month I only had 2 dropped calls as opposed to one every night with the others.

Try it out www.pingo.com

DON"T PAY A LAWYER! I am in the middle of the K1 process right now and believe me that it is not hard if you can follow directions and fill out forms. Plus there are all kinds of support in the internet like here and other sites where you can post question and actually get answers from people who are there and have been there. The best ones I found is this site and www.visajourney.com.
The best thing I did was to take it step by step and do not get overwhelmed by the whole process itself.
Read the I-129F instructions and http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm site.

Use the $2000 to visit your love and send her flowers.

SHBLatin comments on K-1 process a success

OK When you got package 3 or 4, which everone has the Interview appointment, what was that time frame? From the time you received the letter with date on it till the time of the actual interview.

Gracias

SHBLatin comments on K-1 process a success

7 months badbart:

I am in the middle of the process now and wanted to know why you have to wait 7 months when what seems to be a typical wait is 2-3 months?

SHBLatin comments on Poll - Getting fat in American?

About the organic free-range stuff I am all for the organically grown foods and free-range meats but why the hell is it soooo expensive. I am sure they are saving a ton of money by not buy pesticides and stuff.
I am a little over weight myself and I think the best diet is the Bogota Diet!!! I just need to learn Spanish. I was there for a week over Christmas and lost a couple of pounds and I did not change my eating habits at all.

SHBLatin comments on The dumb, ignorant, funny questions you've been asked about Colombia

Pepsi in America? I was chatting online with my novia one day and I was drinking a Pepsi. My novia (she lives in Bogota) and I were using webcams and she asked what I was drinking. I told her I was drinking a Pepsi. She asked "How did you get that?". And I said "at the store." and she said "They sell Pespi there in America!?!?"
How cutie is that???
I did explain to her that Pepsi is an American corporation.

SHBLatin comments on Tell me about the women to avoid

Avoid.... Avoind my new novia. She is mine!!!!

SHBLatin comments on Local (bad) news

In Bogota Last week When I in the airport last week, I saw this black guy who was dressed just like here in the US. He wore a pantyhose thing on his head, a basketball jersey, Big baggy pants that showed his underwear and bunched up around his feet. Very US "In the Hood". I have never seen so many colombians in shock. They did not know how to react to this. The police or military there were nervous!

SHBLatin comments on Giving up on Avianca!!

Just got back from Bogota I just got back yesterday from Bogota and flew Avaianca both way and found there service to be Excellent. I had not problems what so ever and my lack of spanish was also not a problem.
