I was asking about taxi prices because once I got to the city... maybe in the 5 days I was there I would have taken a cab. I took a bus from Bucara to Medellin then from there a friend got me. But I am not going to be with this person the whole time. Do me a favor.. if you are going to complain or be useless- do not include yourself in my posts.

scarby558 comments on Taking a taxi in Medellin

thank you all for the information, however, i will be traveling by bus and a friend will get me at the station. thank you all again :)

scarby558 comments on Taking a taxi in Medellin

I read a post that said the minimum is 3.200... is this still accurate?? thanks so much!

scarby558 comments on Medellin Hotels

Are the prices of these hotels based on per room/night or per person/night? thanks

scarby558 comments on Bucaramanga

If you are from a city close to the ocean like me (and you can't live without sea food) check out "Mar Azul" and for more local food check out "La Carreta" ;)

scarby558 comments on Bucaramanga

hey! i am currently living in Bucaramanga (Bukara) and i can assure you that a place called "Toscana" is a great place for italian food. It is located in "Terrazas" area, next to a japanese and mexican restaurants and you can get good food for like 10 usd. Another good place for local food is "Mercagan", you can get great great hamburgers there. As far for places to drink, you can find in "Las Palmas" park a great place for cocktails. Dancing depends on what kind of music you like. "Cabecera" area offers a bunch of places you can choose. I hope you check them out... likely to see me there at some point :) Enjoy!!

Hehehe yeaaa about 2 Brava's and I'm done! LOL! Well he is not the reason I started posting here... lets say he was somewhat inspiration :) Before my first trip to Colombia.. I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. I was only 18 and traveling alone.. and my Spanish was soooooo rusty LOL... and whenever you google Colombia or anything Colombia related... this site pops up :) And I like it.. very informative! I haven't made it to Medellin yet... there seem to be conflicting thoughts on this site about the city, but I dont like to listen to here say. I'll check it out- hopefully this year. I just googled South Bay hahaha! Looks very pretty :) Soooooooooomeday! Maryland is lovely! We have really great sea food :D Did you grow up in Colombia?

scarby558 comments on Lisa Zee

Woooo Hoo!! You've been to Cozumel!!! Thats great! Did you go to Carlos n Charlies!?! Thats a great great city!

scarby558 comments on Lisa Zee

I happened to find myself a Colombian man :) and I enjoy him hahaha! Thus, I visited the country a couple times and I found myself in love [more ways than one :) ] I see you live in California! Nice! How is it on the west coast??

scarby558 comments on Favorite Beer (I hate beer, hungover)

I looooove Brava! Aguila is good too :) Rolling Rock and Heineken in USA :)

scarby558 comments on Lisa Zee

Hehehehe I added you as a friend because I think that Brava is the greatest Colombian beer too! Cheers!

scarby558 comments on Peanut butter

Mmmmmm nothing like a slice of New York Pizza! I like Colombian pizza... it is okay.. but, where's the sauce?? But nonetheless good...

scarby558 comments on Peanut butter

Well I don't know about the Colombianas but the Colombianos definitely like those sweeties... of course I am generalizing. If ya'll ever saw my boyfriend eat a piece of chocolate.. you'd understand. He can make a jet bar about [________________________________] that size last for hours. It is pretty impressive.. he has some incredible will power ;)

scarby558 comments on Peanut butter

Just bought one today for my trip, as a matter of fact :)

scarby558 comments on Peanut butter

I asked the exact same thing when I was having a bad craving for peanut butter! It is so so good! My boyfriend and I found it in an Exito once, but it was in this very small jar, cost like $9.000, and it wasn't that.. good. But hey! It was peanut butter and it cured the craving. So since that time... I bring my own jar with me :)

scarby558 comments on Portena

Hey Portena. Thank you for the comment and it is good to have you as a friend. To answer your question, no I do not have a degree. I have been focusing on traveling and exploring different fields and possibilities for careers. Since the cost of education is so high in the states, I wanted to make sure that I made the correct choice. I have been looking for employment in Colombia, specifically Bucaramanga. I have a background in teaching so I thought it would be appropriate. Luckily, I just found a job and I start in 2 weeks!! :) And what about you? Where do you live in the USA? What do you do? Any recommendations for places to visit in Colombia?

scarby558 comments on So Much for stereotypes....Not everybody of course

Wow... that is pathetic :(

scarby558 comments on It would be funny if it wasn't looking like a real possibility...

Wow... that is something... scary thought

scarby558 comments on Strange but True; Woman Lives On Boyfriend's Toilet Seat For Two Years,,Ripley's Nominee?

McFarren, 36, said he can't be certain how long Pam Babcock stayed in the bathroom because "time just went by so quick I can't pinpoint how long." He said beatings she received in her childhood caused her phobia. See a shrink. I'm pretty sure sitting in the baño for 2 years is not going to make bad childhood memories go away...

scarby558 comments on Strange but True; Woman Lives On Boyfriend's Toilet Seat For Two Years,,Ripley's Nominee?

Idiots. You're completely right msaucey.. these are the kind of people that make this country look like a bunch of dumb shits. Who the hell is going to sit on the toilet for that amount of time? Did she actually think this was a good idea?? Those people make me sick. And we have to pay taxes for her to have her ass removed from the seat because she had nothing better to do with herself. Get a job! Contribute to society.

scarby558 comments on Hey LOST Fans!

scarby558 comments on DOG FOR SALE!!!!

what a beautiful dog!!! Lol... has anyone seen the Sandlot??? hehehehe

scarby558 comments on Medelin is now infested with gringos :(

get a grip dude... people move... shit happens... you dont like it... there are a lot of other places in the world where these "gringo" men have yet to travel to - try Sri Lanka. Are you upset because maybe the ladies like the gringos (for whatever reason they may).. and tend to flock to them more then Colombian men? Monpirri, you are exactly right, men are so easy... if they see a hot chick on a website and it says she is from any country... you know they will check it out in more detail... and it they have the money they will go there. Dude... stop crying and get over it... I could complain all day about how there isn't a decent "gringo" in the usa, for the fact that most of the people there are from another country, but I don't. The world is turning into a melting pot and it is something we all have to deal with. Don't pretend you are the only one annoyed by this fact, because you definitely are not...

scarby558 comments on msaucey

hey msaucey! everything is going well. I am still in Bucara.. I extended my flight home twice already. everything is great and I am really happy here, except about 2pm everyday I start to miss home. Meaning, I miss the snow. How is everything with you?

scarby558 comments on Funny Video

true... but I am sure she did not have a serious injury or her friend would not have posted it. she probably watches it and thinks how dumb it was to try to do something like that :S

hahhaa wow catfish, where have you been!! i am from the baltimore area and i have been begging for a job. i applied at 22 places about 2-3 months ago and never heard anything back from them (and i am available all shifts and everyday- whats the problem). it is so so difficult to find a job in the baltimore area anymore. so difficult that i am searching for employment outside of the usa.

scarby558 comments on

by the way.. where are you from???

scarby558 comments on

the monkey says be nice. is this your opinion or a fact. what do we call those people on this site that are just writing things to start trouble....?? can someone help me think of that word. one thing i hate in this world are stereotypes and damn did you hit it. do not generalize the usa (not america because if you say america.. you are including colombia in that too) because you had a bad encounter with someone. i am from the usa and i have a colombian boyfriend and he thinks i am a little oh la la with a side of uhhh huh. and as far as arrogance well you kind of dont have any argument for that because this whole post was pretty damn arrogant. for your information: Definiciones de hypocrite en la web en inglés: * a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he or she does not hold in order to conceal his or her real feelings or motives wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn * Hypocrisy is the act of condemning another person, where the stated basis for the criticism is the breach of a rule which also applies to the critic and of which the critic is in breach to a similar or greater extent. A person engaged in hypocrisy is called a hypocrite. ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypocrite think before you speak :)

scarby558 comments on vicshere

hey vicshere. I was reading posts on the visa and paperwork section and you commented that you could help this person find work teaching English in Bucaramanga... is that still a possibility? I am working with a company called AIESEC... at the moment they are making things really complicated so I think I will have to be on my own with this. I will be in B/manga in Decemeber. Anyway you could help me out or offer some advice? Email me, scarby558 at yahoo.com. Thanks a lot :) Allison

Hey Plato, Wow that is amazing! Must have been nice to take in all that beauty and art everyday. I think that is kind of like a dream for me.. but I guess I live close enough considering how expensive it is to live in DC. That is one of my very favorite places to go! Tell me, have you ever had a chance to visit the Holocaust Museum in DC?? -Allison
