billyb says on May 23, 2008, 09:19: Hey Sandy, BTW it is "Saman" as in the tree, not Salmon ;) There are plenty of cheap and clean accomodations in Salento proper and some good restaurants, We usually stay at a family finca nearby, but I checked out a couple of BBs and found them to be very clean and nice, all with TV and own bathroom. They were in the $15 to $25 price range, the one i liked best is above a very good restaurant and includes breakfast, the owner is a super nice paisa who can arrange what you need like horses etc. When I get home I will give you the conatact info. I would stay in salento myself, but Pereira and Armenia are both within an hour of most of the attractions, so if you want a little nightlife either would be a good choice, although Pereira is a little larger and livlier.
