CIB Bancolombia investment NYSE

How do you financial experts feel about a one million dollar investment in Bancolombia right now? (Maybe $100?) Anyway, it was at $5 a few years ago and went up to $42 and is now around $18. Any ideas from you financial wizards? This market has to bottom out somewhere. How do you feel about that? ...

How might Uribe react to a Obama victory?

Might Alvaro Uribe totally, and I mean totally unleash the Colombian military on the FARC, regardless of the 700 hostages, if Obama is elected? Me thinks that Colombia's security forces pretty much knows where to go to eliminate the remaining FARC forces but holds back due to the hostages and their safety. Talk has it that Israel will be more inclined to attack Iran's nuclear facilities with a Obama victory as well. (Might happen later anyway?) I dunno....? ...

What is free trade with Colombia?

My impression is that it elimiinates most, if not all, import and export duties from each nation. Anybody here actually read the agreement. (probably 4,000 pages LOL) Here is the problem for America with NAFTA, CBI, FTAA, CAFTA etc. Cheap labor (Republicans) and the ability to pollute (Democrats!). These American corporations used to have an American division and a Latin Division. The American divisionwould have a plant in Toledo, Ohio and everything made there would be sold in ...

Link to email exchanges between Chavez and Raul Reyes talking about Barry Obama!

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/03/captured-farc-computers-name-barack.html I am not a politican and I do not intentionally lie....a little white lie maybe from time to time but I read about this months ago. Interpol confirmed the authentcity of the email found Reyes computer. Of course, if you like Obama you will deny it ever happened. The emails. Obam is fraud in my mind. ...

Christopher Columbus!

If my memory serves me today is Columbus Day. Is this celebrated in the only country that carries the name of Columbus? Colombia? I don't care what the left wing nuts say in America about Columbus. He was a brave man and for better or worse who brought two worlds together. I salute the man! ...

Is Colombia safer with Uribe?

For you living in Colombia since Uribe arrived as president, is Colombia better off with Uribe then when Pastrana was there? Has the war on terror called FARC worked in Colombia? What happens if Obama cuts off US aid to Colombia? ...

Colombian crossing us-canadian land border station.

Can a Colombian citizen with Canadian residency papers but no Colombian passport get into the United States at a land crossing point from Canada with only the Canadian residency papers and no Colombian passport as well? Anybody know? I would say no. ...

Sin senos no hay paraiso......

If NBC, CBS, or ABC tried to run a program with this title in ENGLISH it would never even start yet Telemundo can do it in Spanish and nobody says a word. Can we say under the radar screen?

Solar energy in Colombia?

Anybody heard anything out of Colombia about solar, wind, or other forms of new energy sources being developed? Such a big topic up north and in Europe with oil at $115 a barrel. ??????????

Los caminos de la vida.

Ok I hear this song played a lot on a local Denver Spanish radio station. I think it is Vallenato and is called Los caminos de la vida. The station generally plays Mexican stuff. Who is the group so I can get a copy of the song at Best Buy or anywhere? I like that Vallenato stuff and ran into a Coolombian couple going to a big Vallenato festival in.....? Santa Marta I think it was....? ...

Columbus Park Denver, Colorado July 20th Colombia Independence day festival.

Well, I have never attended but will this year. I doubt that almost one million Colombians will show up like El Modefoque says appear in Queens, NYC. There is going to be music and food in Denver at Columbus Park. Supposedly a peace march too. Like the Mexicanos say...NO FALTES! ...

The other hostages....

Ingird, Ingrid, Ingrid.... Of course they are going to talk about Ingrid until it snows two feet in Bogota! You know, upper class politician and connected to France and all that with all the connections of the estrato seis and her mother runs orphanages. This is natural and nothing wrong this this mind you! It is good to read about the other hostages if you can en SEMANA and other forms of media. The soldiers from poor families who were drafted or joined up for a lack of better opportu ...

Ex FARC member duped Ceasar! I knew it then!

I knew it. I just knew it! I thought that maybe Ceasar had actually delivered the hostages for a reward but it was an ex FARC member. It had to be somebody that Cesar trusted and the government just sending in spies that had no previous relationship with the FARC? No way! This guy had a house and a farm taken by the FARC. He wanted payback. He got it! BTW One of my wife's brother had a store and everything he had taken by the FARC out in some small town. Then the FARC called him ba ...

Were the FARC tricked or did Ceaser et al give them up?

Ok a week ago Uribe said that some leader or leaders of the FAARC was willing to give up Ingrid and the gringos. Did Uribe say this to make Ceasar think that it was true that Cano wanted them transported by chooper to where Cano is hiding? Did Ceasar really give them up but the military onboard the chopper arrrest him and the other FARC leader to make it look like it was all planned when they want to make it look this way because Ceasar has family that the FARC could retaliate against if foun ...

Colombians in the USA.

OK elmodefoque has gotten me curious. He talks about the Colombianas in queens. OK. So how many Colombianos in the New York City area? Is Jackson Heights in Queens? I hear there is a big Colombian Independence party around the 21st of July? So, where are the other large concentrations of Colombianos in the USA? Give me numbers if you can? Like, how many in south Florida? Los Angeles? etc. Here in Denver and in Colorado there are quite a few but not like the Mexicanos of course. ...

Second Continental Houston Bogota Flight Oct 1st.

Continental's second direct Houston Bogota starts October 1st. Departs Houston at 12 midnight and the second daily return flight leaves Bogota at exactly the same time 12 midnight. Red eye flights which at times can mean a lower fare. ...

State Department double standard?

Right now at the US Embassy website under the Human Resources vacancy section there is a position for a "Vetting Officer Assistant". I guess the position involves verifying identification. So, if you are a US citizen living in Colombia with a valid Colombian work visa you might want to apply for the position. Remember however the the job only pays you around $13,500 US DOLLARS a year. If you are a RELATIVE/SPOUSE of a US government employee being sent to Bogota and of course are a citize ...

New Avianca service starts today.

Avianca's new direct flight from IAD Washington started today...to Bogota direct. leaves around 5:00 in the afternoon which allows for a lot of same day connections. Mostly UNITED it is one of their main hubs or anybody else who might get you there to Washington. DELTA codeshares with Avianca so that might be a good fare? Yes, Spirit from Fort Lauderdale starting July 24th but the flight leaves at 10:30 AM so you might have an overnight stay from the midwest or west coast? I do not ...

Poll...Colombian products in the USA or Europe?

I have not seen a lot of products that say "Made in Colombia" here in US stores. Now, Colombian coffee obviously is there. I have seen a few men's shirts and orange slices candy. Also, there is some cookware of metal or aluminum that I have seen. A few days ago I saw a package of 12 socks at Costco with made in Colombia on the label. Most of the flowers are "Product of Colombia" and the Latin speciality stores have some Colombian food products like the Postobon bevarge stuff..... Wh ...

Chavez, Correa, Reyes, and Obama.

It has been reported that on the computers found after Reyes was killed in Ecuador, that Hugo Chavez and the FARC are hoping for a OBAMA victory in November bebcause he is "...one of us..." INTERPOL says the information is correct and therefore we have another idea of who Obama is.....McCain is the sane vote in November although I can't stand him either! Supposedly, Obama's campaign office in Houston had Che Guevara pictures on the wall. All politicians lie but Obama is backtracking a ...

Towns without electricity in Colombia?

When will there ever be direct Miami San Anndres service?

All this talk of free trade between the US and Colombia.....yet I never hear of either American, Avianca, Copa Aerorepublica, etc starting direct air service between Miami and San Andres Island. At least 3 times a week from Nov 1 to May 1. Colombians are good at business but not when it comes to SAI. Canadians know of SAI but Americans do not. A little marketing on the part of Uribe and government and SAI could increase its tourism but the Bogota connection has got to go away. Ask most A ...
