sanandressi comments on REDNECKS AND COLOMBIANS IN USA FOR OBAMA

A vote for Obama is a vote for Las Farc, Hugo Chavez, ELN and AGAINST everything that Uribe has done in Colombia. I will never vote for a man who belonged to a church for 20 years that is racist towards jews, whites, and filled with America haters with a victim mentality. Ran around with a terrorist. Dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres! I am glad that you have found your new messiah in Obama and Germany thought they had a messiah in 1933! Do not worry over the financial downturn, the new leader OBAMA will give you work and bread! This is all that you need know...for now!

sanandressi comments on Colombians Living high and Mighty in NY/NJ/FL While Gringos Living Poor in Rural US

But why did they have to leave Colombia in the first place? Why can't they live it up in Bogota?

sanandressi comments on Colombians Living high and Mighty in NY/NJ/FL While Gringos Living Poor in Rural US

Yeah, they live good in New York. Maybe they have a one bedroom apartment and pay $2,000 a month? Maybe they have to look behind their back to see who wants to mug them next? New York? A great place to live which is why Letterman gets outta there and goes to his ranch in Montana. I would rather live POOR BUT HAPPY with those poor gringos in Appalachia then snotty stuck up snobs in New York or Los Angeles. LA? One big concrete freeway and you can have it! Bill Turley, you lived in Bogota and now small town in Colombia. Tell us how much better it is in the "small town" as John Mellencamp says in his song.

sanandressi comments on Colombia warns of looming cold war in South America

Chavez was elected in Venezuela on a platform to help Venezuela's poor and not to become the next Castro socialist leader of Latinn America. Chavez says Washington was behind the 2002 coup. Maybe so, but explain why Venezuela needs billions in arms from either the US or Russia? He was elected to help his poor correct? Like too many despots and demagogues, Chavez has turned into a power hungry little dictator. FARC? Same way. A nice little socialist group that turns itself into a bunch of armed thugs.

sanandressi comments on Democratic Colombiana Annette Taddeo Debates BushRepublican Illeana Ros Lehtinen

Jose Diaz Balart is the news anchor of Telemundo owned by NBC is a brother of the other two Balarts mentioned above. Jose worked for CBS and was a reporter in El Salvador during the war there. Any vote for any Democrat in this election is a vote for potential reduced American aid for Colombia in any way shape or form. You may not like Bush, but Uribe's popularity is huge and how is Chavez doing lately in Venezuelan polls?

sanandressi comments on Democratic Colombiana Annette Taddeo Debates BushRepublican Illeana Ros Lehtinen

Iliana Ros Lethinen and the Diaz Balart's support Plan Colombia while any DEMOCRAT will question and possibly cut off aid to Uribe and Colombia. Correa, Chavez and OBAMA are leftist socialists. The Diaz Balart brothers are totally anti-Castro although they share the same blood lines. You need to get your facts straight Miami Mike!

sanandressi comments on The U.S. Election and Latin America

Miamimike, the DEMOCRAT party wants every factory shut down in this country that emits any form of pollution and that puts UNION workers on "Main street" as Obama says. The union bosses still supporrt Democrats cause they have been doing it for so long they don't know how to maybe stay neutral or they are just plain ignorant. A vote for Obama puts Colombian security at risk!

sanandressi comments on The U.S. Election and Latin America

Hey MiamiMike I have posted here in PBH about the same Colombian flowers that killed Colorado's and California's rose production due to the Andean Pact. I lived in Los Angeles in 1993 when DEMOCRAT Bill Clinton signed NAFTA after the unions, who had given Bill mucho dinero, asked him not to do so. The DEMOCRAT Party is no longer a labor party and this is why I left the Democrat Party. Actually, they left me. Obama is NO FDR! If he was, he would be proposing nuclear power plants in addition to the 104 we have. McCain has done so. We could use US built Caterpillars to help build these.

sanandressi comments on The U.S. Election and Latin America

Yes, Monoke28, but Free Trade is about improving the US economy or what ails it. The one thing I like about Obama is how he talks about keeping jobs in the US but how will he do that? I mean, if I want to shut my plant and send it to China who can stop me? I belong to a service UNION in Colorado. I fully believe in the right to organize and strike. However, so many of my fellow union members worry for their own jobs but cannot take it upon themselves to buy a UNION made automobile of GM, Chrsyler or Ford thereby supporting fellow US workers. McCain on the other hand mentioned building 45 new nuclear plants employing 700,000 americans while Obama will not mention the word nuclear cause he does not want them! It is their money, my fellow union member's, they can buy what they want but see my point? Obama and the union leaders are concerned about labor leaders in Colombia and why are they not worried about we workers in the US who pay their salaries with our dues? Obama also said he would sit down with Chavez "no pre-conditions". Is that good for Colombia and Uribe's efforts? A Colombian guy I work with supports Obama but his wife has a brother who is a Serpista POLITICAN.

sanandressi comments on peso is at 2238 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Gringo George, I agree with you but then again, a dollar worth 4,000 or 5,000 would spur on tourism if Colombia did not thave such a poor image due to FARC, AUC and drugs. Not deserved but it is what it is. I heard a Colombia official say that Colombia's economy would grow 5 per cent if the tourism industry met its full potential.

sanandressi comments on Why don't you move here Peter and others?

bufalo nothing is free taxes pay for your daughter's education. My Colombian wife has no desire to move back to Colombia. She loves it here in the US so why do you not all move to Colorado? I would move to many places in Latin America if I could find an employer willing to offer me the same type of opportunities that so many Latin Americans have found in the United States as immigrants. I am not talking about teaching English either! (Yes, I have a serious beef with the US Department of State and their hiring practices and then I hear Barack Obama encouring us to "join the Foreign Service!!" (Maybe if I was black Barack the door might have been opened just a bit more?) Maybe not? I dunno? Nevertheless, I always remember the street kid in Honduras I saw with a dead rat on the end of a rope the same way a kid in Colorado would play with a live puppy. So I thank God every day for what I have and have pretty much forgotten about living anywhere in Latin America. For now anyway. The bible says "seek and ye shall find" and "knock and the door will be opened to you" I knocked and I sought and it did not materialize so my Karma and fate is here in Colorado not Colombia! Amen!

sanandressi comments on peso is at 2238 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Look, a weak peso is good for some and bad for others. A strong peso is good for some and bad for others. One US dollar in El Paso Texas will buy you more than in New York city. What about inflation? Unemployment and other factors? Good for exports but bad for imports and investments. Heck, I can be selfish and hope the peso is 6,000 next May when I visit but I worry about Colombians and how it affects them. Inflation and unemployment?

sanandressi comments on The U.S. Election and Latin America

Uribe met with Sarah Palin in New York a few weeks ago and McCain has been to Colombia. McCain was born in Panama. Not sure if he grew up there though. Obama and Democrats do not want free trade with Colombia and could cut Plan Colombia aid. McCain will continue Plan Colombia. Chavez, Correa, and Raul Reyes had email interchanges found on the laptops of reyes saying that "Obama was one of them". John Kerry also made comments showing sympathy towards the FARC in 2004. A vote for a Barack Huuseein Obama is a vote against Colombia if you agree with what Alvaro Uribe has done and he has done enough to have a 75 percent approval rating of Colombia's people. If Uribe prefers McCain then so do I among other reasons! If you like Obama then vote for him but I cannot!

sanandressi comments on Why don't you move here Peter and others?

Yes but by the same token there are Colombians wishing to go somewhere else.

sanandressi comments on Hotel suggestions

The people who have spoke about the Cali Plaza Hotel at tripadvisor.com seem to think this place is good for the price. 10 years ago the Intercontinental was considered the best but more have opened. virtualtourist.com is another place to check.

sanandressi comments on Places to visit around Bogota...

Of course the autobus would be cheaper than flying but by flying you would avoid that Bogota traffic. 350,000? Pretty good sized. Thanks.

sanandressi comments on Places to visit around Bogota...

Hey Kat1 ever flown on Satena or Aires to Villavo from Bogota? How much is it? My inlaws live there but I have never gone. They always come to Bogota for up to 5 days. The wife is planning to leave us this time in Bogota and go to Villavo alone via chiva lol but maybe we should just all go. two young girls too I am not sure of the name of the area where they live in Villavo. Villavo looks to have about 250,000 people from the pictures I have seen....correct?

sanandressi comments on The Best salsa place in Cali? Where the hot papis are

Well, my wifey, when she was not my wifey, took me to a place called Chango. Something like that. Cannot tell you about the "hot papis" cause hot papis do not interest me. This place was not on sexta avenida and there are lots there.

sanandressi comments on What is the best way to travel from Montreal to San Andres?

I have been to both Panama City and Bogota and I would rather spend a night in Bogota than Panama City since Tocumen Airport in Panama City is quite a distance from Panama City itself. El Dorado Airport is basically right in Bogota. Also, in the RARE event Copa cancelled their flight to Panama then they would probably send you off to Bogota anyway to get Aerorepublica's 9:00 P.M. departure out of Bogota. There like 4 to 5 flights a day from Bogota to SAI and only one from Panama City. If you do have some time in Bogota's airport try the food court and try soem Colombian cusine!

sanandressi comments on In Latin America, the most trenchant opponents of globalised finance look most likely to suffer at its hands

As oil price drops Chavez gets weaker......Russian arms sales.....Give it to the people you socialist dictator phoney!

sanandressi comments on Places to visit around Bogota...

Sorry kat1 call me a wimp but I will never travel in Colombia's countryside unless I know the FARC and ELN are totally gone! When?

sanandressi comments on They're both evil

I think the positive thing, under URIBE, is that many people have had their weapons removed from their hands both FARC and AUC. Some peacefully and some by force. Can that be a bad thing? Colombia must have one central form of govvernment and authority and not 3 or 11.

sanandressi comments on They're both evil

Our American politicans are a representation of us whether you like it or not. We vote them in and out. Mostly in and in and in.... However, I cannot understand why Sarah Palin is getting so much heat because she is the Washington outsider and the one who is most like "we the people". Why would so many from so far want to come to America legally or illegally if the United States is so horrible? 2,000 illegals crossing the Mexican border every night according to Spanish television Univision. (Are they counting heads LOL?)

sanandressi comments on COPA Already Enforcing Yellow Fever Shot Requirement in Colombia

Hey Getting Better FYI the United States left Panama about 12 years ago. Jimmy Carter gave it away. Carter lasted what 4 years? Kind of like how you Brits used to have lots of colonies?

sanandressi comments on What is the best way to travel from Montreal to San Andres?

Montreal-Toronto-Bogota on Air Canada and either Aeroreublica/Avianca to San Andres. Montreal to Miami direct if anybody flies it then either Avianca or American to Bogota and then Aerorepublica or Avianca to San Andres. Montreal toWashington Dulles if anybody flies it then to Bogota on Avianca and then to SAI as above. Montreal to Los Angeles if anybody flies it then on to Bogota on Avianca and then to SAI on the above. Montreal to Panama City on A/C Copa if they do it then direct to SAI from Panama City. Yes, TRANSAT would be your best bet and direct with maybe a stop for fuel inn Panama City. Spirit is supposed to go direct Fort Lauderdale SAI starting in February. Or is it Jetblue I forget? How about PRIVATE JET direct from Montreal to SAI. ok ok sorry.....

sanandressi comments on Caracas Now has Dubious Honor of Murder Capital of the World

Chavez wants to be the leader of all Latin America and anger the Yanquis yet he cannot solve the crime problem in Caracas. Maybe Chavez should forget about the rest of Latin American and concentrate on his own country like URIBE in Colombia?

sanandressi comments on Politics-Politics

A vote for Obama is a vote for socialism, the FARC and Hugo Chavez. URIBE supports McCain and Plan Colombia is in doubt with Obama. Much of Uribe's success is from US government military aid whether you like it or not. Obama puts that support in question. John Kerry put that support in question as well. I am not a big fan of John McCain but I know who McCain is and I have no clue as to Obama is other a self appointed activist with a millionaire dollar home. (A wife who seems to hate America?) I do not like the shaddy characters Obama has run around with in the past. A racist preacher for 20 years. "Dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres". If Uribe support is p and he supports McCain as he seems to do then I cannot see Colombians supporting OBAMA! Sorry if you disagree.

sanandressi comments on Colombia's Uribe eyes one more run

Seventy Eight percent is a huge number...give it to him! The sorry characters from leftist group like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International will never give a guy like Uribe the credit he deserves. What has leftist Chavez done to stop simple crime in Caracas?

sanandressi comments on They're both evil

Seventy percent of Colombians support URIBE and his efforts. Kat1 Is the road to Villavo from Bogota safer than it was 6 years ago?

sanandressi comments on They're both evil

The AUC however, has put down their guns in Uribe's quest to pacify Colombia. The FARC had every opportunity to do PEACE with Andres Pastrana and the lied and continnued to attack small towns and kill civilians. The AUC only grew out of the inability of the government to stop the violence. M-19 put down their guns. The FARC leaders are getting exactly what they deserve. I support URIBE and so do what? p of Colombians?

sanandressi comments on Unions plan mass marches across Colombia in Protest

Yes and they support Obama as well. A vote for Obama is a vote for the FARC and Hugo Chavez. The American election will affect COLOMBIA and therefore I mention this HERE! John Kerry was a FARC supporter too! Uribe supports McCain and so do I!

sanandressi comments on Accommodation in Isla San Andres and Providencia

I would recommend the Bahia Sardina Hotel on San Andres where we have stayed twice. We have made 4 trips and stayed at one of the Decameron Hotels which are good too. There are a lot of choices and I am sure you will enjoy the island no matter where you stay but we have found Bahia Sardina to be clean, safe deposit box in the room, newer remote controlled air conditioning and always clean inside and out with fresh paint. On the main beach in town. Small swimming pool if the ocean does not work. LOL The owners are from Baranquiila and the manager is Caleno. The restaurant is good but Decameron chain has more selection. We always just ate two meals there at Bahia Sardina and then tried the local restaurants. Have fun no matter where you stay.

sanandressi comments on 50 Cent performing Medellin - November 1

supposedly ESCOBAR was worth 22BN dollars so i guess there is a demand for everything....

sanandressi comments on Venezuela going Nuclear

It seems unfair but the more countries that get nuclear weapons the greeater the chance some goofball like Hitler will use it! That is why it is important to keep the nuclear bomb club small. Even though we Americans used the A-bomb to end world war two, saving perhaps one million lives both Japanese and American, it is good to remember that it took the Japanese two bombs and two destroyed cities to get them too surrender. Such arrogance. One was not enough! LOL

sanandressi comments on I-864 contract enforcement

IF OBAMA is elected then HOMOSEXUALES will want visas for their companions as well. The State Department can't tell now what is a fake marriage and with gays? Some, I heard, gringo, went to Colombia and obtained a visa for a girl and she had family waiting in Miami's airport the day she arrived and he never saw her again. BTW Too bad Mexico's government has to blame all their problems on the US. If Mexico had Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California it would be a mess just like Tijuana, Juarez, Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros. I like the way Mexico treats the Central Americans as they pass through Mexico on their way to the US. Like dirt!

sanandressi comments on I-864 contract enforcement

Hey Colombia Gringo, I find it ironic that so many Latin Americans have to break our US immigration law to live in a country where the law generally works unlike most Latin countries where there is no law or the law is so corrupted they want to leave. If you or someone you know is here illegally then you have broken our law passed by our lawmakers. I am sick and tired of apologists for illegal immigrants. "No ser humano es illegal." WRONG, if you broke our law you are ILLEGAL! Enough is enough!

sanandressi comments on I-864 contract enforcement

The subject is whether the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT will go after a US citizen who marries a Colombian and then the Colombian with US residency collect food stamps or other forms of federal assistance thereby becoming a public charge meaning the taxpayers foot the bill. If the person in question has worked a certain amount of hours, quarterly hours, as a legal resident, then the federal government will not go after the citizen. American citizens sign a form accepting financial responsibility for the visa applicant. Explained above. Yes, we have illegals who obtained a loan for a house by us because I saw it in the monthly sales section of the Denver Post and my COLOMBIAN wife told me earlier that the woman who she had befriended in that house told her that they were and are ILLEGAL immigrants. No sour grapes here just facts and if YOU love ILLEGALS then get out your wallet and you pay for all the social services they are being given because the US taxpayer is being given the shaft. (Just like this bailout for Wall Street!) What part of the word ILLEGAL do you not understand? The SAME government may try and go after the CITIZEN and they allow 30 million illegals here to do whatever they want! I don't care if they make their house payment or not they should be deported! There are lots of things I like about Latin America but stop dumping your poor on the United States and take care of your people especially in Mexico!

sanandressi comments on USA Banking Bailout Fails - What is in store for Colombian economy and the peso?

The idea of credit is that you get credit provided you will pay it back. When credit is given to anyone with no checks and balances you get bank failures. Nothing is free and sooner or later ya gotta pay the piper. What ever happened, in AMERICA, of paying in cash...cash that has value backed in gold. Paper pushers have created this mess in America and they want the American taxpayer to pay for their mistakes and greed. Our American wealth that we won in world war two has been given to Mexico, China and India. Instead of investing in America our big companies have sold us out on cheap labor over there. This is exactly what URIBE wants from the US. More of our wealth. It is no good for America. I think Canada with 33 million produces more manufactured goods than we Americans do with 300 million.

sanandressi comments on Colombian cocaine entering the US is NOT a Colombian problem

Correction, "If the gringos did NOT demand/use it, we would NOT grow it"

sanandressi comments on Colombian cocaine entering the US is NOT a Colombian problem

Other than Bolivians chewing coco leaves at 12,000 feet to help handle the altitude what good are coco leaves? Is it a food that gives nutritional value? The production of a worthless crop is just as bad as the demand. This is how criminals try to justify the production of coco leaves in Colombia. "Well, if the gringos did not demand it we would grow the stuff." I haerd this in Colombia. In theory it is true but it is also a denial of responsibility. Every acre/hectare in Latin America that is being used for coco should have a viable food stuff being grown. People don't eat coco leaves in order to live. I have a lot of trouble with people who smoke pot and use drugs and live in denial trying to tell themselves they don't have a problem. Hollywood actors for example? Alcohol is the same too!

sanandressi comments on If You Own Stocks GET OUT NOW!!

I would not get too excited just yet friend, if it is bad enough we can all jump off the top of a building....LOL

sanandressi comments on I-864 contract enforcement

Here is the kicker...the same federal government that may try and make you pay allows ILLEGALS to get loans for a home and hence a $700BN bailout. part of it anyway. The government ICE, knows the illegals are here and does nothing.

sanandressi comments on Bailout bill fails

We Americans did not learn much from the great depression of 1929 now did we? We are supposed to have safegaurds but greed, as always, has taken over. Loans given to those who did not deserve them. Our state of Georgia, when it was a colony under England, was colonized by prisioners from DEBTOR jails who were offerred a quick way out of jail in England. Don't pay your loans back and you went to jail. What happened to that?

sanandressi comments on Colombia to import 42,000 tons of sugar

I have felt that if free trade with the US is passed then INCAUCA sugar from Cali would arrive in the United States killing our sugar beet industry in the US but so many american sugar beet growers have gone to high priced ethanol corn that we may need INCAUCA Cali sugar?

sanandressi comments on Venezuela going Nuclear

Bill, the Monroe Doctrine was seriously undermined when Jimmy Carter gave the Panama Canal away. Southern command moved to Florida as well. If I was the president of the US I would quietly tell the Latin American countries to pick a side, either Chavez or the US and those that pick Chavez would see massive deportations of their citizens BACK to their home countries. Colombia, Costa Rica, Guuatemala, Chile and especially El Salvador, are good friends with the United States. The Dominican Republic as well. Peru is in the US camp too! Panama? Not bad. Honduras seems to want to play with the two. Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Nicaragua seem to think Washington is the root cause of all their problems? Chavez offers cheap oil and little else. If the poverty remains then it will all shift from left back to right in Latin America as it has before.

sanandressi comments on Venezuela going Nuclear

Venezuela and hence, Chavez, remain a player only as long as the price of oil stays high. Venezuela has little else and they know it!

sanandressi comments on Fiance Visa and Tourist Visa

When you get a Fiance visa you are taking the first steps to FINANCIALLY support your Colombiana (o). My advice is to forget the tourist visa and go for the FIANCE and plan a wedding the last week of the 90 days. If you do not know her well and you speak little Spanish and her little English then you may not have a clue what you are getting in to and remember, you get divorced and you have a divorce just as you would with an American woman and she can get whatever from you $$ depending on the laws of your state or marriage and residency. Not trying to be negative just warning you of the facts friend! BTW Your divorce a mail order bride who gets public assistance, food stamps etc and the federal government can come after you and make you pay for it!

sanandressi comments on 50 Cent performing Medellin - November 1

50 cent? That is about what I would pay to see him.......

sanandressi comments on Bailout bill fails

House Republicans and some BRAVE Democrats are listening to we American people who see this as a scam....watch Obama try to take credit for it...opportunist that he is...
