RUV comments on US TOURIST VISA for Girlfriend Got it. Not sure of the cost but flights should not be that expensive. Hotels and resorts are getting cheaper due to the drug cartels problems along the border. Regardless good luck.

RUV comments on US TOURIST VISA for Girlfriend You can go visit her there. Fly into San Diego and from the airport take the trolly to the border. Cross the border and take the bus from TJ to ENSENADA it should be around a little over an hour or more, depends on the stops. I was not aware of Ensenada as a big college town. Puebla, Mexico City and Guadalajara come to mind. You now need to take a passport to cross so bring it. If you need some help PM. Good luck.

RUV comments on URGENT! need advice Not sure but it looks like you showed your cards before you had to. Like Gator said you should of contacted a Lawyer, then on the advise of the lawyer make your move. Now the admin is aware that you know he is screwing you over. He is plotting his next more or may even be talking to a Lawyer. Do not worry, I bet more then half of us would of done the same thing, including myself. This is an interesting post can you keep us to date. Good Luck,

RUV comments on Most likely a heat problem or the thermal grease is dried up. This is common. Depending on the model you maybe able to open up it up and blow out the dust and hair balls out. Dust gets caught around the vents where the fan is located. Very common on older units. I have fixed several laptops this way. Not sure what model you have but there is a Toshiba Authorized Service Center in Bogota. Good luck.

RUV comments on New look Barking Spider! The shakedown forced you downstairs? Sounds like fun. Will try to drop by when I go to Medellin in the fall.

RUV comments on Micheal, There usuall a copper grill like heat sink that is usually right behind or in front of the fan. That is where most of the dust / hair is at. The fan also collects dust. On some systems you can clean them without opening them up. Most you laptops you have to open them up. What laptop do you have? If your fan starts to act up. I maybe able to get you some parts. It all depends on the manufacture and the model.
RUV comments on Most laptops have a heat sink with what looks like a grill pattern close to the air vent. This is where the dust get stuck. The fan will be close by and the fan also will get stuck with dust, cat and dog hair. This needs to be cleaned out. Depending on some models the thermal grease on the CPU could be dryed out. What computer do you have? If you take it in look keep an eye on them, because it maybe just a cleaning that you need and not a new fan.
RUV comments on Most computers, especially laptops have a problem of collecting dust. What model is it? There is a service center in Bogota that is an authorize Toshiba Service center. I will look for the address and number. I think they also work on other manufacturs as well. Do it yourself. All you need is a can of compress air, thermal grease and a screw driver.

RUV comments on Computers going through Customs I took two laptops with no problems. What is the limit? How many laptops / computers can you bring?

RUV comments on How do I withdraw money from PayPal in Colombia? - Como retirar de PayPal en Colombia? I applied for a Credit / ATM card from Paypal. I used it when my Bank ATM card was cancelled while I was in Colombia. Nice bankup in case you have problems with your ATM card. Like I said backup. The fees and extra charges are not work using outside of US. The way I did it, I moved money from my bank to my Paypal account. Then used my ATM Paypal card to withdrawn money in Colombia. That took around five business days to before I get the funds. Again the fees are not worth it. Read the fine print.

RUV comments on A Man Was Killed In Cali By Transvestites Poor guy. If it was in the US, can you image how they explain this to the family. Did you say "he was killed by a train?". No trannies. You mean multiple trains? No I said "trannies"!

RUV comments on Staying in Pereira Feldz I forgot the name of the shit hole I stayed at. Trying to recall the name so you do not stay there. The hotel Grand look really nice but maybe a little more then your budget. It was really close to the park and walking distance to the metro and mall. If you look at the Travelguide there are some recommendations. Check it out: http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/travel/place/pereira/

RUV comments on Leaving Medellin I think American has the tax already included in the ticket. Mexicana I beleive does not. You need to look at the ticket or ask the airline. I thought it was less then 80K.

RUV comments on Brian, I was thinking the same thing. I know to many people, including family, that use the system (Welfare, SS, other agencies) instead of getting off there ass. It hurts the realy people that need it.

RUV comments on Cañon de Rio Claro Kelvin did a nice report on it on his web site. http://www.blacksheepmedellin.com/rioclaro.html I went about a year ago. Call ahead and reserve a room. There are different options as for your housing. You may also want to call and ask about the river conditions. They do not do any river rafting (i think it is a class 1) when the river is to high. Really nice. I think San Gil maybe better. I have not gone but look forward to it. You are welcome to PM if you want some additional pictures. Oh take a flash light.

RUV comments on where to go for a week Most of those places are tourist places and lots of teenagers running around during spring brake. If you do not mind that Cancun is nice, great beaches and lots of things to do. I do not like because it starting to look like US Beach town, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut. Still nice. Xcaret, Cozumel, ruins. Mazatlan is nice. Same as Cacun but Cancun had more things to do. Acapulco some of the beaches are really dirty. The town is ugly. Two blocks from the main strip you have run down houses and bad areas. Very dirty.

RUV comments on selfish??? When I went to some training classes overseas some of the European coworkers smelled bad. Especially during the summer. I would put garlic cloves in my nose to hide the smell. : )

RUV comments on selfish??? Change rooms. They have plenty of rooms. Just go up to one of the girls and tell them the guy snores or just smells. Email Kelvin. kelvin at blacksheepmedellin.com. Kelvin is very nice and reasonable guy. He and the girls go out of the way to help.

RUV comments on Computer Help If you decide to go to XP get the drivers from Toshiba Canada website. Toshiba America does not have the complete XP drivers set. You can also Install Windows 7. It seems to be allot faster. I am kidding it is still in beta. If I go Medellin I will PM you. Maybe in a couple of months.
RUV comments on Computer Help There are XP components for this machine. The Toshiba Tecra M6 uses the same board and also has XP components. There are very little drivers at the Toshiba American website, but you can pull them down from Toshiba Canada website. Here is the link. http://support.toshiba.ca/support/download/ln_byModel.asp
RUV comments on Computer Help Toshiba is fine. More memory will help. Using XP would really help. To bad I am not going to Medellin anytime soon or else I could get you a memory module and maybe look for an XP build. If my travel plans change I will PM you. What model do you have?
