royed31 comments on Flexible Notoria required

I spent Friday and saturday going to various Notorias and EVERY one of them had a different set of requirements. One required witnesses x2 to say I we had been living together for 2 years. Other wanted some documentation from my embassy (like they are going to do that) and another asked for for a translator , which some of the rest did not. Well as my student extension visa runs out on the 17th July am going to boarder to re-enter as a tourist and will sort this out when I get back. Thnaks for the info R

royed31 comments on Staying in Colombia longer than 180 days

Hi all sounds like that is cleared up. would like to know: When student visa finishes and waiting to enroll on next level, how do you go about getting a tourist visa again. Do you need to leave the country ( sorry to start all that again) I am in Bogota and have enrolled on level 1 at National. It cost about 550 000. Is there any cheaper options anyone found that I can still get a visa . Is there any courses longer than 2 mths at each level? As I am on 2nd week of level 1, how easy is it to get the student visa, i.e do I need to know alot of spanish or is it very straight forward with not many questions. did this very quick as battery is about to quit, R

Hi Gator saw the discussion on the 180days in Colombia and sounds like you got it all sorted. I have enrolled at National and foolishly thought I would get a year visa. The level is for 2mths but the entire course is 15mths. I am level 1. tried asking tody if I could pay for the next level and they said no. How much spanish do I need to get the student visa, do they talk any english, how long does it take. Saw all the documents I need so will go there next week. Out of interest what course have u enrolled on , where , and how much was it. If a language course is it like mine and only 2 months. What happens when your student visa expires, do you need to leave the country to get a tourist visa and then wait to enroll again and start the process again ????? Shame not like Argentina, sounds easier there Roy

royed31 comments on Looking for an inexpensive hotel in Bogota

I stayed in Hotel El Virrey Calle 18n. 5-56, which is not bad , fairly basic but clean tidy and good showers. Some may say area is not great but I never had any problems. If interested they have there own web site or go through Hostelz.com I think I paid about $26US which is not too bad. Roy

royed31 comments on Flights from UK

Flying from Uk First time I flew to Bogota was with Iberia from Madrid and vowed never to uese them again. Very Cramped and just generally crap.

I used Continental from london this year which flew to Newark first which wes good as it broke the jorney up. Downside is that you have to deal with American customs, but no big deal. I paid 540 but could have got cheeper at around 480 but I did not want to wait. Good thing is you deal with them direct and changes are possible on the ticket (although there is a charge and you need to make sure that change are possible on that ticket) but over all good service and flight. As said never again with Iberia.

royed31 comments on Visas - Advice from Colombians Please

Thanks Thanks alot for all the info, sounds fairly straight forward. the only problem I see then is this change of Terminal business at madrid because I was hoping to get her on a flight just to Madrid then a easy jet to the UK. When I came back from Panama with Air Madrid I did not have to change terminal, are you sure that coming from Bogota she will need to change Terminal?

Anyway thanks Agian

royed31 comments on Extended Stays in Colombia

Thanks for your reply.

Well I suppose marriage is another answer to this and Colombian ladies are gorgeous. Student visa looks the only viable answer so i need to find a course that is non intensive, maybe a year, and do it that way. Just not sure on how expensive it is going to be.

Thansk for your replies

Roy
