If not I don't know why you would not fly direct from US to CLO instead of the ATL BOG - BOG CLO CLO BOG BOG ATL hassle. You can fly from ATL to IAH for less than $200 tax Included round trip and then IAH CLO or you can go ATL MIA on a cheaper flight less then $150 tax included and then MIA CLO. I used to fly once a month to Colombia and once a month to Honduras, at liest 24 flights a year to Latin America alone so I have seen and done it all with airline problems. An airline is a tough business to be in even if it pisses you off when there is a problem. Weather problems 5,000 miles away can screw up your connections very easily. Overall I have had a good experience with airlines trying to do it right. You have to let it roll off your back like water on a ducks back or you get all upset. Your mickey mouse problems were nothing and you need to try running a business and see what it's all about. I have had lost luggage, not temporarly lost but never seen again in this lifetime, luggage left behind in Houston travelling to Honduras from Houston and have it delivered to Honduras by a freight airline that I was sure that they had dragged it on a rope all the way to Honduras, luggage and all its contents lost and paid for by airline only to have it delivered to me four months after the flight, luggage contents stolen by airline employees (I got a check from the airline for more than I had filed a claim for and a letter from the CEO with a free ticket cupon anywhere they fly) and I could go on and on about the problems because they never end. Some months I would rack up over 35,000 frequent flyer miles. But I still fly because it is the best way to get from A to B.

Also,I just toured housing market in US sunbelt.......brand new 2,100 single story with attached two car garage, 5 stainless steel appliances, completely fenced with concrete block stuccoed, all concrete driveways, sidewalks and patio finished and completely landscaped with concrete tile roof, in beautiful clean sub-division with parks, playground equipment and artifical lakes with fountains, and all schools finished, was just $160,000 US$. Tipping originated with the very wealthy in europe so a man could impress his ladyship so he could get his way with her. Depends where you are calling from..........I call from Canada for 2.5 cents a minute up to 1,000 minutes. Over 1,000 minutes is .05 cents a minute. No difference in rates for land lines or cel calls. If you are making calls that last a long period of time you can get a card (don't have it handy) and costs .95 cents connection fee and ZERO cents per minute, you only pay the connection fee. This posting was just to correct your statement that you ALWAYS have to use more miles to Peru on AA.

Also the portion of flying to Peru and using stop overs to go to both Colombia and Peru was correct. Maybe you mis-understood because
the first part of my posting was about AA miles and you may have thought that I meant to fly on AA. Not the case. My posting is correct with the stopovers and the price. You can also stop over on the same flight in SJO for no extra charge and stop over in Quito Ecuador for an extra 100 US$ for a total of four stop overs (MIA/SJO/BOG/and Quito) at a fare of 723$ US$.

And as flying in Colombia you can fly to ANY city for about 132,000 COP with the exception of San Andres and Cartagena which is an additional cost of about 118,000 COP if you arrive on AV. If you arrive on any other airline the cost is 17,000 COP more. So for
135,000 +- COP you can fly anywhere in Colombia except San Andres and Cartagena. It is valid even on American.

in USA/Canada to Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru or Venezuela. I don't know what AA Associate you are dealing with,
but suggest that you get a new one. You are getting the wrong information.

Also, You can fly Chicago - Lima, Peru and get a stop over in
Miami and one in Bogota for 623 US$. So you can visit both contries for 623 US$. (Note: if you buy coupons you can fly anywhere in
Colombia for about 200,000 COP a flight.) I'll confirm the coupon prices as they may have changes since I last used them. Let you know.

A quick review of your travel needs I would reccomend the
following.
Get a round trip ticket from Florida (preferably Miami)
to Lima, Peru and take a stopover (50 to 100 US$ extra cost)
in Colombia. If you want to go to Colombia first stopover
on outbound flight, if you want to go to Lima first take a
stopover in Colombia on inbound flight. So for about 460 US$
you are able to go to both places. You kill two birds
with one airline ticket. Just a suggestion.

Lima Peru from MIA - 359 US$ return.
MIA Cali is 289 US$ return.
Just 70 US$ return more to go Lima. You can't get a return ticket for 70 US$ from anywhere in Colombia to Lima return.
I had seen it cheaper to Lima but I was not planning to go there so I deleted the information, was less than 300 US$ return.
