I am Colombian living in the US for several years. Obviously she must have a valid Colombian driver license and also an international driver license issued in Colombia. In some states she can drive with her Colombian driver license, example: Florida. When I went to Florida last year I rented a car and drove (using my Colombian driver license). In Pennsylvania she can drive with a international driver license and she needs to carry her Colombian DL as well. Tell her always to get an car insurance to drive, it will be way more expensive because she can not get an US driver license, I used to pay $150 month for a subaru legacy 1991.

Persons with light skin are called "trigueno" Persons with blond hair are called either "mona" or "mono" for female/male Calling a person "negro" is not offensive at all.
