RogueOne comments on Biofuels in Colombia

Hmmm! Lots of good information on biofuels in that article, positive stuff for Colombia. I was also reading elsewhere (http://www.bernama.com.my/bernama/v3/news_business.php?id=157856) of the value in Palm Oil instead of rapeseed (aka canola) oil. Thanks

RogueOne comments on Tips on flying out of Colombia to Panama

I just flew from the US to Barranquilla via Panama City round trip. Copa is based in Panama and service was fine, price - lowest. At the moment, the best aggregator of Travel Websites on the web (IMHO) is ... www.Mobissimo.com I check Sidestep.com, Vayama, Lessno, Expedia, Cheap tickets, Orbitz, etc in that order. Bon Voyage. (Ps: I have no affiliation with any of them)

RogueOne comments on RECENTLY DEPORTED

What are your skills and experiences? I may have a need at times for CAD drafting of mechanical 3D models. Suerte. Mike

RogueOne comments on Kidnapping plague in Tijuana, Mexico

At this time, why worry about the few in the upper classes having to 'flee' from trouble? It's the poor locals who suffer from the violence. I've friends in another border city, Juarez - across from El Paso. This drug mafia vs miltary battle is hurting the poor and middle class. Three weeks ago we had gone to a club. A week later, gunmen came and shot two people dead. Businesses are staying closed, people not working or going out. I just got an email yesterday. The Chamber of Commerce now withholding tax money until the government ends the violence. The mafia is keeping the pressure on until the army leaves the city.

RogueOne comments on Brew Pubs In Colombia

I'm curious to know of quality pubs too, wherever I travel. Same with many guys in the States. But I can't agree with the generalizations about beer lovers in Europe or the US. Brew Pubs and specialty beers are very popular up here. The 'decerning' Germans chose Bud as their official World Cup 2006 brew I recall. And the visiting Brits (and other Europeans) nearly drank Germany dry as they guzzled anything yellow from the tap (lol). I'll be there next week and see what I find. Just pushin' back a bit....peace. R1

RogueOne comments on sending money to colombia from usa and vice versa

Ditto what Mr. Jorge said. I went to a Brazilian convenience store, with a money transfer terminal. Learned the local Davividienda branch de mi amiga, and they sent for the lowest cost - right into her account.

RogueOne comments on HOLY CRAP

Translation anyone? Plain English for the non -NY crowd.(no offense).

RogueOne comments on All is forgiven or is it?

My nephew was visiting, and there was a hot iron that caught his curiosity. He was curious so I let him touch it and learn something unforgettable! So sure.....I urge you to IM your GF's amiga. Make sure you both talk about your girlfriend too - she won't mind. I'm going to get some popcorn.

RogueOne comments on Trouble over IMs

Not necessarily ....... Some guys just know where the line is and others need to cross it and face a woman's fury. Learn and move on. Any hint or play with the sister or friend of your girl, even if you think it's innocent, well that's how it starts. Step back a little, do you want to make things right? Then apologize, treat her like a queen for awhile , and move on.

RogueOne comments on How do I call a bogota cellular phone from A USA Landline.........

I have been calling and text messaging girls in Colombia and Brazil for a long time. Here is my advice. First, the others are correct that from USA dial 011 57 312-447-xxxx Second, save time and money by texting each other, only 10-15cents. Third, use an online virtual phone card. I use http://www.teletelonline.com/ They have local access numbers in the states. After you charge once and enter your pin the first time, you don't need to enter a pin ever again. You register your telephone number and it recognizes your caller id from then on. After using up a card, just recharge it in the next call by pressing 1 or 2. Very easy.

RogueOne comments on Someone please explain what "papaya" means other than a fruit?

Papaya means "breast" in Brazil "Mamão, it is called in Brasil.
"Breast" in Ingles.

RogueOne comments on Shipping personal items to Colombia

3 out 4 made it So maybe 80% is about the norm.
I sent small packages, even Chistmas gifts last year - Florida a Pereira.

I used USPS Global Priority and it cost about $18 to $35 each. The one time I tried to save some dolares...via Air Mail, it never arrived.

Global Express will get it there faster for more $$.

RogueOne comments on Pereira

Heading there soon Well, I'm planning to visit ASAP to meet a special gal. Just starting to plan. Do I need a VISA? Flying out of Miami. I see fares are ~$460. Taking a crash course in Spanish. I was hoping to go 3/23 -27, but that's Holy week. I assume that's no good. Any more pointers would be nice.
Not looking for caveats about girls, no need. But insider web links, hot spots, news, landmarks, language crash courses, tips all welcome.
TIA
