Hi Tom My name is Roger Farrow and I live in Alabama. The last time I was in Colombia I stayed at the Hotel Dan in Barranquilla and it was very clean, I felt safe there, the service was good and the price was reasonable. I believe it was in the price range you mentioned although the price did flucuate during the week. It is located across from the big shopping mall but I do not remember the name of the mall.
