Rikito comments on 2nd NY millionaire gets prison in slavery case If you want to read some really bad but true stuff that will make your eyes water, read the book "The Kingdom. It's about how the rich in Saudi Arabia treat people. In one instance the sister comes down stairs in her night clothes to tell her brother to turn down the music. The friends see her and then rape her. The brother then kills her for shaming her family. Sentence? Never went totrial...it was not a criminal act. In another instance a rich family needed a kidney for thier child so they kidnapped thier maid took out her kidney and then put her back to work...nice people, but this stuff happens all over the asian/middle east.

Rikito comments on ROBBED AT KNIFE POINT IN BOGOTA! THIS COUNTRY IS DANGEROUS!! Rubito is spot on with his comments. Why pick on Bogotá anyway? Either you are just trying to stir things up or you have never been in another city except Bogota or, you are really stupid. Any large city in any country is going to have crime problems...some worse than others. If you walk around looking for trouble like being well dresses, talking about money on the street, counting money in public, or acting like the "Ugly American" than you deserve what you get. When I first came to Bogotá, I listen to my novia (now wife) about how to be cautious...thus far I have never had one iota of a problem. I have gone to many places in Bogotá and other cities and no one has ever threatened me in any way and I have never felt that I was ever in danger. Want danger my friend? Go to Detroit anytime, any day and you will find danger. During the first Gulf War in Iraq a newspaper reporter was in a firefight with some of the U.S. soldiers. During a lull in the action he asked the soldier how things were going. The soldier responded, "Hell there is more action than this in Newark, N.J. on a Saturday night than here. The one city that I have never felt safe in is Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The police are more criminal than the criminals.

Rikito comments on Hugo Of Hezbollah "Truth" is a difficult word to keep civil when passion is involved. And it is on topic. People like 'Valdimiro' justify people like Chavez who somehow gets people to think he is the second coming. And now Chavez is in bed with the muslims and once the muslims get there nose in the tent well...read the following metaphor, it is for a problem where permitting some small undesirable situation will allow gradual and inexorable worsening. It is a good representation of how the muslims will come into Colombia and the rest of South America and when the do you will pray to the east 5 times a day and your wife will be covered at all times when she leaves the house: "One cold night, as an Arab sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. "Master," he said, "let me put my nose in your tent. It's cold and stormy out here." "By all means," said the Arab, "and welcome" as he turned over and went to sleep. A little later the Arab awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also. The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, "I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here." "Yes, you may put your forelegs within," said the Arab, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small. Finally, the camel said, "May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do." "Yes, yes," said the Arab. "Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us." So the camel crowded in. The Arab with difficulty in the crowded quarters again went to sleep. When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself."

Rikito comments on Hugo Of Hezbollah vladimiro, you, buggy, and the other nitwit who was eventually banned must have been born from the same load of poop. In fact, I would not doubt for a second that you are all one in the same. I looked at your profile and it is very similar to the others. Namely, the information you provide in your profile is false. The only truth I saw was your list of friends..."no friends." It figures.

Rikito comments on Hugo Of Hezbollah romy, pretty much the same way intellectually. But, the Christian fundamentalist does not go around killing innocent people and then look to the sky as they "Allah akbah" which in Arabic means, "God forgive me for being such as jerk off!" To the Fundamentalist ,God probably just shakes his head like the father who wacthes his son come home from college at Christmas with a tat, lip earrings, makeup, and a dress, and says, "damn, I coulda had a v-8."
Rikito comments on Hugo Of Hezbollah Desideria, I strongly disagree with you. It is not a complicated issue at all. I lived in Saudi Arabia for 5 years and saw how these people acted. Killing innocent people to justify there aims is easy for them because most of the people of groups like Hezbollah are truly ignorant people who manipulate the Holy Koran to suit their prurient aims. The ‘soldiers’ of Hezbollah are mainly uneducated dupes who have no education, an no skills. They do not even know that the Jews and Arabs are, in fact, brothers. They are from the same Hittite tribe in the bible. Vladimiro continues the path of ignorance by saying how Israel has invaded or wants to invade or would make Lebanon a suburb of Israel. More rubbish crap. Israel has never invaded Lebanon. For what reason would they want Lebanon? Lebanon has never harmed Israel and they have done much commerce of the years. But, Israel has gone after the chickenshit terrorists who sneak up, attack children and innocent adults and then run back into the night to Lebanon and praise Allah for their victory. Allah looks down on this vomit and must wonder what he did wrong when these clowns were created. Vlad, you act like you are a disciple of Hugo or you are hot for Piedad. “Using technology most likely supplied by Iran, only shows how completely ignorant Hezbollah is in the first place. Also, many of Hezbollah are not Arabs and are not Iranians. They come from all over the world duped in their home country mosques to go and be martyred for Allah…crap all of it. True Arabs are peaceful people with excellent educations and people who have made positive contributions to the world community. Hezbollah has contributed nothing to the world and especially to the Muslim world but a bunch of spent cartridges. In another quote someone said, “When people think about Hezbollah they forget or ignore the fact that they are also responsible of maintaining schools, hospitals, etc. social works, it's the central point of Hezbollah party program Again, a bunch of crap. Schools for indoctrinating against the Jews, hospitals for members of Hezbollah only, and please pray tell, what social works? Getting the men ready to meet their 99 virgins? We should all give thanks to God each night that filth like Hezbollah do not try to steal the freedom of the Colombian people, but we must be always watchful…especially for the innocents. They die easier.

Rikito comments on Salarios en colombia Simon, I don't know why I am bothering with this but I'll try for the last time. I'm sure that Protestant were not saints either, but I am not talking about them. The Catholic Church funded many of the new world expeditions through the various royals.’ And yes my friend, the Catholic Church is far...far more responsible for the masseur of indigenous peoples than any other body, government, religion, etc. I didn't even talk about the hundreds of thousands of people murdered by the Church during the 'Inquisitions.' The Spanish by way of the infamous order of Jesuits killed, slaughtered, and killed to force these heathens to convert. Entire villages were destroyed if they did not. Please, you have to recognize this. As for the Protestants...if it was not for the dictatorial and tyrannical polices of the Catholic Church there would be no Lutheran or many other Protestant religions. They formed as an affront to the Catholic Church. And the only reason the Catholic Church has apologized and made any form of compensation to the ‘abused’ is because they got caught...clear and simple! The abuse of children went on for 50-60 years or more and the Church did nothing other than transfer or retire the abuser. You seem to be a very ignorant person and very judgmental by how you accuse me of not being a real Catholic. That is unfortunate, but it is typical of people who will not accept truth even when it looks them in the face. All I am saying is that I contend that the Catholic Church is too hypocritical for me to want to work for them. I have personal experiences throughout my life and from living in different countries to prove this in my mind. You on the other hand refuse to consider that they are not the best employers. One more example of hypocrisy. How many Popes were married? How many Popes had children? What Italian family forced the Catholic Church to name members of their family Pope or else? What Pope had his son made Pope after he died? What Pope who during WWll aided and abetted Hitler and the Nazi's. This same Pope also knowing allowed and assisted the Nazi's to send thousands of Jews to their death. What Pope excommunicated a famous French priest for saying the mass in Latin? This happened recently. Do you have any idea how much the Catholic Church is involved with FARC and has been involved with FARC since its inception? Hard to believe, but unfortunately it is true. However, the positive aspects of the Catholic Church far outweigh the negative in today’s steam of consciousness, which is why I continue to worship my faith in the Catholic Church. I believe in what the Church is and what it believes in. I find it despicable and sad how they got there.
Rikito comments on Salarios en colombia Simon , do you practice being ignorant or does it come naturally. Nowhere does my comment indicate bigotry. But then again, I doubt if you understand the words meaning. And where did I say or indicate that I am anti-catholic? In fact, I am a catholic and go to church regularly. Also, I was once in a monastery for 2 years. That does not mean I would ever work for them…and show me just how they promote peace anywhere that does not suit their prurient purpose? You know nothing about the Catholic Church and what it has done over the centuries. For example, they are responsible for the massacre of the American Indians and are the main force that destroyed the South American indigenous peoples. In fact my friend, more people have dies and been murdered in the name of the Catholic Church than any other organization in the history of the world. The church was also complicit with the Nazis against the Jews in World War ll. And today in the U.S. and many other countries the Catholic Church been have allowed and gloss over the churches abuse of children that has cost them millions and millions of dollars. I could go on and on giving you examples, but that would probably be too many syllables for you to comprehend. I believe in many teachings of the Catholic Church, but many of them define hypocrisy such as the unequal treatment that the church has towards women. Then there is this virgin birth business…good grief!

Rikito comments on Salarios en colombia Rubito, why the hard on about oil companies...get a rejection notice or two? I worked for Amoco Corporation for many ears and it was a good company, gave me good benefits, a great retirement to supplement my social security and they were a good community citizen. Why not banks...the sleaziest organization anywhere in the world. In every country you can name, Banks will always have the poorest reputation. Don't generalize by something you read somewhere. There are many great companies and crappy companies in any industry. In my opinion, I would never work for a bank because they commit usury each and every day. They openly lie to their clients, they care nothing for customer service, and they will screw with your money at every opportunity. But the worst company of all would be working for the Catholic Church were hypocrisy is their middle name. I would rather work for Hugo Chavez than the Church.

Rikito comments on Chavez urges Colombian rebels to free all hostages SIMON ROMERO is a piece of shit writer who is in the pocket of Chavez. If he could he would love to be his brother. I wrote him three weeks ago to ask him and told me that has seldom even been to SA.

Rikito comments on There are three major things that you can do. First: Look at the visa & paperwork section at the top of the page. Here you will find the answeres to most of your questions. Second: Go to the search box in the upper right hand corner amd search on something "what documents are needed to move to Colombia. Third: Go to an internet site called Visajourney.com--www.visajourney.com. There is more information there than in here. Visajourney has up to the minute experiences and links to all of the forms that you will need. The PBH folks in here mean well and are very into answering questions on immigration, but many of them are clearly wrong or will give you confusing information unless you can provide all of the details of your move. Good luck. There is a lot of paper, but the process is not hard and worth it, Colombia and its peopleare magnificant. Frustrating yes! Definetly frusrating!

Rikito comments on Immigration scumbag in Miami Cerealkiller, where do you read anything that says, "Immigration officers can deny entry even if the visitor has a visa on the grounds of suspicion of drug trafficking, forced marriages or potential overstaying." Is slguy helping you make things up? There are a lot of people who think that they know all of the answers because they read or heard something that someone else said. But, there must be more than suspicion. Immigration has the right (and obligation) to have suspicions, ask questions, interrogate, ask for proof, etc. But once again (and I am not going to keep on with this because the attention span is waning) they just can't say to someone, "Hey amigo, I suspect that you are a drug dealer and I am not going to allow you in the country." Do you realize how stupid that sounds? There must be more than suspicion and the immigrant has a right to be heard. Suppose someone travels from 'BFE Anywhere' with the intent and approval by the U.S. Embassy to go to the U.S. and get an entry visa. This person has with him his wife and two children. He has paid a one way ticket for his family of $7,000. He also has with him all of his luggage. Now an immigration official says you can't come in because we have a suspicion. Based on what? The suspicion must be reliable and have a content of validity...and according to the Federal regulations. "more likely to be true than to not be true." Also, in such a case, if this were to happen one immigration person is not allowed to make that determination. The supervisor and several other people will be involved to make a final determination. A simple arbitrary action by one immigration official will not happen. And who is going to pay the $7,000 for the return trip? The immigrants? No they have no money at present? Where do you keep them in the meantime…in jail? Can’t, they have not done anything criminal. It is not that easy. The beginning of this thread indicated that one person is making an arbitrary decision, which is not true. Yes, they can deny entry, but as I said before there must be a valid reason and suspicion is not a valid reason no matter what you think. Stop making things up to give some semblance of intelligence. Think this through and you will see that 1) things like this seldom, if ever, happen. 2) if it does happen, everything possible is done to validate the suspicion, and 3) a decision to deny is not made lightly. An in-depth investigation is made and the immigrant has a right to be heard. There must be more that a simple suspicion.
Rikito comments on Immigration scumbag in Miami AQgain, the immigration people can only deny a visa if there is something wrong with the documents that the individual presents. If the documents are in order and nothing negative has happened since they were approved for a visa Colombia, the immigration officials are required by law to let them in the country. Nothing less.
Rikito comments on Immigration scumbag in Miami slguy, there is nothing in anything that buffalo wrote that said the visa was denied. I also have some doubts as to how much of what he said was manufactured to make a point. Too many holes in his story.

Rikito comments on Alvaro Uribe ( I don't love this guy… ) romy, at least I limit my comments to 2 paragraphs. You on the other hand seldom have anything of value to say. All you do is criticize others and seldom offer anything worth reading.

Rikito comments on Citibank thinks Colombia is the most risky market in Latin America I have an account with Citibank and only have the minimal amount in the account. Citibank is the cause of many if the problems they say are in Colombia. In most countries banks actually control the government and dictate many of its policies. For example, in the U.S. the Federal Reserve is the most powerful economic and polictical force in the country. More powerful then the President and certainly more powerful thran congress. So I don't buy the pity me crap that Citibank puts out.
Rikito comments on Immigration scumbag in Miami slguy, you are the one who is wrong. If your 'entry' papers are in order they must let you in. Try reading the State Department's regulations. The immigration people have the defined duty to assess whether or not you have the correct papers and documentation... that's all. They are not given the option of playing god and they are not allowed to make arbitrary decisions. I worked for the Dept. of Commerce and the State Department for many years and I know how these low level people think they can intimidate. I have seen many of these people disciplined for poor conduct towards immigrants. There are uniformed and well explained guidelines on visa's and entry to the U.S. There are also many stories (most of them bogus) like this one. 99% of the immigration representatives are excellent employees and do their jobs well. It is extremely unlikely they would take an adverse action unless absolutely warranted. They do enjoy challenging people to get a reaction which is also against the uniform guidelines. These employees also know they can receive and adverse action from a three day suspension to discharge from the Federal service. Again, if your papers are in order they are required to let you in. And if your papers are not in order you are allowed to have a hearing.

Rikito comments on Immigration scumbag in Miami When I first brought my wife to the U.S. we went through Atlanta, GA. The immigration official really looked over my wife's documents and thought she could do as she wants. She noticed that my wife was a) very attractive, b) much much younger than me and, c) obviously nervous. The woman kept us waiting for clearance for over an hour. We were the only people in the room being processed. She then started asking my wife quick questions all in English. At that time Marce's English was ok, but not great. When Marce had a hard time answering the questions she yelled at Marce and wanted to know what she was hiding. I got pisse3d and started doing my usual idiotic verbal attacks. The immigration reps then threaten to not let Marce in the country and have me arrested for obstruction. I then told Marce that I needed to make a phone call. The immigration rep wanted to know who I was calling. I told her I was calling the FBI and the Atlanta police and tell them that my wife is being attacked. I then demanded to see her supervisor. When the supervisor came I quickly gleamed that he was no better than his employee was so I immediately asked for his supervisor. They then started to give me crap and I interrupted them. I told them that my wife had an entry visa, all of her papers where in order and that they had past scrutiny in Bogotá. Unless they had a provable reason to reject my wife, they had no other option but to allow her in the U.S. I warned them that I would never let up filing personal charges against them until they were dismissed. My point to this is, do not be afraid to stand up to these people. Most of them have low intelligence and think the world revolves around them. Get their names and badge numbers, demand to see their supervisors, call other law enforcement officials, and last, don’t be afraid to call the State Department and make an official complaint. When you do, the burden of proof them shifts to them.
Rikito comments on Immigration scumbag in Miami If what you say is true, you should have asked for the duty supervisor and file a complaint. Also, you never (and I mean never) have to go through any kind of strip search without a witness present. You should have also contacted the polic and filed a charge. I know that people laugh about this, but you can fire back at these people. If you are in the right and not being a very arrogant person, which many people who enter the county are.

Rikito comments on Alvaro Uribe ( I don't love this guy… ) Buggy, I can understand why you do not like Uribe. First, you know nothing about Uribe or his beliefs, next you know nothing about Colombia. Also, you know nothing about farc or its intentions. You have never been to Colombia and I doubt if you have ever been to France. The French are a sad lot at best, but they would surely know better than to count you amongst them. Your ideas of socialism are nothing short of inarticulate illiteracy. You know nothing about everything. Yet you think that you can come to this site and make some kind of asinine statement or two and think that you are a hero to the socialist cause. Fortunately, you are one hand clapping and that is good for everyone. I could understand the attraction that some of the socialist wannabies might have in you if you where able to sound somewhat coherent, but that just never happens. Ask yourself buggy, why does everyone laugh and make fun of your posts? Why are you on so many ignore lists? Why do one out of 1,000 people take you seriously? You have no credibility because there is one constant thing about you….you know nothing.

Rikito comments on Visa Renewal nor should you trust PBH intelligencia for correct info as well. where I grew up we called these types, "shit house lawyers."
Rikito comments on Visa time table from PBH members.. Also, check out visajourney.com That site is far more competent than any information you can get in here. People in here can only give you info as it relates to them and for most, their process occurred long ago and things/procedures change.

Rikito comments on Visa Renewal no i did not. when i went to the DAS I asked for for a one month extension. the info i got was still bogus.
Rikito comments on Visa Renewal I got some bad info in here. I was told by the MRE in Bogota that I could have gone to the DAS offcie in Armenia to get my spousal visa extended for one month. People should not listen to anyone in here about visa advice. Go to the MRE web site (which sucks) or call them. They have english speakers. You can aslo pay a few bucks for an attorney.
Rikito comments on holding a sick child as collateral... Simple, call the police and asked them to go to the hospital with you to get the child. Also, and more importantly, get a lawyer. Do not listen to anyone in here becasue it is also very likely that you have not given the entire story of your problem. Get an attorney.
Rikito comments on If you know you are going to extend your stay do so as soon as possible. Bring your passport that has your entry stamp in it. That is your tourist visa. Also, bring some cash (not credit). I do not know if you have to pay for the extension. Go to the DAS office for the extension. You can also call DAS to get more info. The people are very nice and helpful...no need to get tense. That comes later.

Rikito comments on Visa Renewal question, i have all of the paper i need for tomorrow except for a form. Don't you need to fill out a Visa request form or something. I went to the MRE web page which is a major blow job of internal propoganda for sure. Nowhere is the an Application form. Any ideas or links I can check? I'm really tired of this shit. Thnaks for all of your advice...it's appreciated.

Rikito comments on killing pablo updates? " Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane, Narc and Smokin' Aces" Crap begetting crap! WOW ! now there is an artistc movie title that wants to make you socially aware. I just have to take my kids to see this thriller. Or maybe I should take them to see the movie "Erin Brockovich", staring Julia Roberts that so far has grossed $103.2 million. Not bad for a movie about a single mother who decided to fight against the odds...and the biased world she worked in...and won! Come on...let's get real.
Rikito comments on killing pablo updates? I still think that many of you are missing an important point. I am sure the 'Pablo" movie will be well done, well received, and make a lot of money. I will also accept that it may be a great theatrical study of characters. Let’s also say that it is deserving of an academy award or two or three. BUT, this is not the point. There are many other subjects that are more deserving of Colombia films than the usual murder, drug, rape, kidnapping, etc. that most Colombia movies show. There is no imagination or creativity to this. Look, Colombia may be coming out of a terrible time in history and has an opportunity to create a viable and just social system. When you are in other countries and someone asks you, “Hey, where are from? Colombia, I say. Then they go into the entire drug, murder rape, kidnapping, and terrorist shit. Why? Because for one reason, that is what they see in the movies, read in the papers and here in the news. What positive thing does ‘Killing Pablo’ do for the Colombian nation? Not a damn thing but perpetuate the drug, murder, kidnapping, terrorist, etc culture. There is so much more to Colombia than this kind of crap. There are so many other subjects that are worthwhile making movies about than this shit. But, opportunists like the guy making this movie do not have enough imagination (or balls) to do anything else. I have a movie subject for you to make a film about. My next door neighbor is a single mother with two great normal kids. She owns her home, paid her way through college and university, obtained a degree in juris prudence which is difficult anywhere and more so in Colombia because she is a woman. She got a job in government and fought her way to the top of her profession. Currently, she is in effect the Attorney General for the Department of Quindio, which is the highest legal position in the department. Her story and her rise through life is the stuff that heroes are made of. The crap she must have gone through to get where she is today in the Colombia world of machismo must be amazing. But most people don’t want hear about this…they want to see drug, rape, murder, terrorist, etc., movies. This represents a lack of maturity and realism and a desire to escape the real world. Sorry boys and girls, but making this ‘Killing Pablo’ movie is an easy way out thing to do. It takes little money, very little talent, simply no imagination or creativity, and is a drop dead guarantee money maker. Too bad too…there are so much more positive subjects about Colombia, its people and its struggles than this kind of crap. Today more than ever the positive side of Colombia needs to be addressed not some movie about a creep.
Rikito comments on Visa Renewal durito, sorry I forgot to answer your question. Why is going to Bogota so dangerous? It's the rains. The mountains are so saturated that the mountain sides are collapsing. Here in the Quindio are many roads are closed. This morning all roads from Armenia to Quimbaya were clsoed due to the mountain collapses. Since the only way to Bogota by car is via 'La Linea' the travel will be very dangerous. Driving via 'La Linea' is dangerous on normal days due to the childish behavior of many of the drivers. Now add in the mix of mountains collapsing. Good Grief!
Rikito comments on Visa Renewal durito...please understand, I am not disagreeing with you, I believe what you say, but it is still hard to believe that this kind of stuff exists in a country that is trying to be a modern player. I appreciate what you said and will be going to Bogotá to get the visa. Also, here’s another problem. I have to pay taxes on my car. I bought my car in Bogotá and I now live in Armenia. To pay the taxes I have to go to Bogotá. Sorry, but that sounds insane. I asked a lawyer I know why and her simple response is, "look, there is corruption everywhere in Colombia especially in government and no one will trust anyone for good reason. Just to make tax payments you first have to deposit your money in a special bank account the tax authority has set up then give the tax authority proof that the money is there." They do not trust their own organization to handle money. So now for me to pay the tax, I have to either go to Bogotá or have someone in Bogotá go to the taxing authority for me. Now that is insane. The lawyer, who is also my neighbor and is the equivalent of the Attorney General for the Department of Quindio also told me, that in Colombia people have the mentality of the right of entitlement whether they deserve it or not. She told to me to just watch how people drive cars and act in a shopping line or restaurant. She feels it is a societal sickness that will never heal. So if they do something wrong or don’t do anything at all, it’s ok because they are entitled to act this way or so it seems. Too bad, but I agree with her.
Rikito comments on Visa Renewal ok...I'll take your word for it. But it does seem highly inefficient for someone who is 6-8 hours away to have to travel to Bogotá for a visa. And traveling by road to Bogotá right now is very dangerous from where I live. And durito, “it is very hard to believe because I have lived with a temporary visa in Saudi Arabia, UK, Egypt, Greece, and Italy and never had to go through the crap you have to go through here to get permission to stay. Apparently, you have had limited experience in living in other countries on a visa other than tourist. Not only that, it is like dealing with the U.S. embassy in that you have to put up with all the arrogant crap the local clerks aka superior intelligencia make you go through.
Rikito comments on Visa Renewal vicshere, you are telling me that for me to renew my temporal visa I have to go to MRE in Bogota? Hard to beleive, but I am going to DAS today si I will let you know what I learn.

Rikito comments on killing pablo updates? slyguy, please enlighten me on how any details about the life of a murderous, drug dealing scumbag like Escobar is "it IS a fascinating story, damn near ideal" This guy was shit and everything in his life was shit. And don't give me all of the humanitarian crap...that was a disguse and you know it. Thie piece of dirt was a disgreace to Colombia. How many Colombians died due to the actions of Escobar? How many lost their homes, their family and friends, etc. This guy was crap and the best thing that ever happen to his life was the bullet that ended it.
Rikito comments on Visa Renewal FYI, I am not a tourist. I am retired and living in Armenia with my wife. stuff still the same?
Rikito comments on killing pablo updates? Oh great! Another movie sterotyping the Colombian wat of life. Yari films must have absolutely no imagination other than making murder, drug, rape movies. A real plus to a society that is trying just to survive each day. ...and a worse comment to the people who think that this continual shit is cool man! Immaturity at best.

Rikito comments on farc web page simon, here is some advice that I was given a long time ago. If you do not know and understand your enemies beliefs as well as your own, you know nothing. This is one of the best reasons for freedom of speech.
Rikito comments on What do the FARC really want? ice, most of the PBH responders in here are joking with you a little. The correct answer is all of the above plus a whole lot more. Buying a book might help as someone suggested, but it is probably out of date by now. The reasons for the organization of farc over 40 years ago no doubt differs greatly from what they believe now. In the beginning they wanted to overthrow the democratically elected government and install a socialistic one. I say 'democratically elected' with tongue in cheek because of all the crap that goes on behind the scenes is not part of the democratic system. In 40 years, farc has changed dramatically from their original thesis…now they are more than likely a bunch of criminals trying to stay alive. In 40 years of insurrection farc has never accomplished one thing toward their goals of socialism (or whatever you want to call it). Of course there are some in here who believe the sun rises and falls with farc. What do they want…who knows…I doubt if farc even knows at this point in the game. There are probably hundreds of reasons for what they want, but who knows exactly. However, the entire conflict is a study that cannot be adequately addressed in here. Like someone said we are, “a lot of people from both extremes and a few rational points of view sprinkled throughout. You can also go to the top of this page and do a search which will bring up all of the articles that PBHrs have written. Check back in here from time to time over the next week. There are some PBHrs in here who are very knowledgeable about farc. But, I think at this point most people are just tired of hearing about them unless it is the death of another leader.

Rikito comments on farc web page simon is can't disagree with you more. Personally, i do not like buggy and think that he is way out there, but he posts relevant subjects related to Colombia and sometimes has something worthwhile to say. His big problem is that he can seldom defends what he says which pisses people off. It's one thing to say something that sounds intelligent, but when you offer no proof other than conjecture, your credibility really diminishes. Besides, buggy is like have a pet spider. It really doesn't mean anything, but it's nice to have around for people to talk about.
