richardshari comments on MY WIFE'S FAMILY

Excavator-very typical story. That's what i don't understand. My father in law has a house over there, the whole damn family lives there for free. Instead of taking advantage and working and save their money they don't do shit. On the contrary, they could not be any grimier! Always with their damned hand extended asking for money and telling whoa is me stories.

elmodefoque says on Oct 18, 2009, 05:44 (today): flag YOU MARRY A COLOMBIANITA AND YOU MARRY HER ENTIRE BROKE ASS FAMILY!! why do you think she's looking for modefoques half way acroos the world , for her fokin health???? my friend, the family needs a human ATM machine , not too many of those in colombia and if the colombiano has money he's gonna tell her to GO FOK HERSELF, HER AND HER ENTIRE MUERTA DE HAMBRE FAMILY thank youo ABSOLUTELY TRUE!! I was in Colombia not too long ago and my HUSBAND'S family is like that, they expected me to pay for every single freaken thing. That pissed me off. Not even a plate of food did they give me. They aint heard from me since I got back in August. Fok'em! So men, you're not the only one's that they try to take advantage of. I can't talk for all Colombians, but this is very common with Costenos. Which is where my parents and peeps are from.

They are AWESOME!! People are really surprised that I listen to all that, but the thing is that many many moons ago, (70's)my father had the FIRST Colombian group in Miami. They were called los Tipicos de Colombia and so music runs in my blood. They played everywhere. My dad is good planning to make his trip back to Curramba after 30 something years. He loves it when I come back from Curramba with all types of stories. When are you going back, te lo juro que if I go during Carnavales, I will make it a point to look for you!

richardshari comments on

That will ALWAYS be my dad's favorite group, Los Corraleros de Majagual!

phillyguy says on Jul 31, 2009, 06:34 (today): flag I have to agree with your lady. What is vallenato but latin cowboy music? To me, it sounds just like the nortena crap that the mexicans like so much. My rule of thumb is: If a latino band has a tuba or accordian, turn and walk away. If it has both, run away as fast as you can. Sorry, but you know nothing about Vallenatos.

richardshari comments on

Ese vallenato esta del pu^&s! And I mean it in a good way. I love vallenato and Anibal Velasquez is awesome! I'm no where near Mode's age, but I do love vallenatos, the very old and new.

elmodefoque says on Jul 30, 2009, 15:30 (today): flag listen, i adore gringo music BUT IN GRINGOLANDIA!! THAT SIMPLE!! True that!

richardshari comments on

Darloup, there are alot of Colombians, the ones that live outside of the country that love Colombia just as much as anyone that lives there or more. And because of that passion of not living there full time, makes them more Colombian because they are soaking up Colombia and give themselves to Colombia completely although they aren't there full time. They don't take it for granted like the people that actually live there. Elmo is a true Barranquillero and although he makes fun of himself and others and says the things that he does, there is ALOT of truth in his stories and he is your typical costeno. So I don't understand why you feel you have to always deny the fact that HE IS a true Colombiano? I notice on your posts that alot of times you attack that fact that he is not a true Colombia, when in reality he is. I admire you also for living over there and wanting to be part of our culture, but to say that a Colombiano is not a Colombiano or doesn't know anything about Colombia because he doesn't live there just isn't right. I think you're trying to hard to psychoanalyze and make conclusions about him, just let him be and continue enjoying the country that adopted you. :-)

richardshari comments on

I've said it before, my parents are Barranquilleros, and we were born in the States, at 11 I went to Curramba for the first time, at 16 I won the title of Reina del Carnaval de Barranquilla en Miami and traveled to Curramba for my first carnaval. At 20 I went again to Curramba and I average my trips about every 2 years. Although I was born here, there is something about Barranquilla that calls my name. I LOVE waking up to the noise, to the vendors, to that bright ass sun, and I kid you not, I cry each and every time i leave. My family is dirt poor but I HAVE THE BEST TIME ever being in their hood. Even when the water and electricity vanish. LOL My father never went back after arriving here when he was 21, (no family left over there) and my mom has not gone as much as I have. Even she doesn't understand why I go so much. My point is.......I'm so freaken proud of my culture and EVERYTHING about Colombia. What DOES piss me off is that I have a stank ass cachaco cousin who is here " political asylum" and NOW he no hablar espanol, no nintendo lo que decir. I want to kick him in his mouth! Colombiano arrepentio'! And i'm going again now next month, it'll be my third time this year! I LOVE LA COSTA. Oh, i have been to Bogota, no biggie.

richardshari comments on Used Bikes

That's funny, I'm looking for a used but in good condition bike but in Barranquilla. At that price, it's awesome!
