And Pedro, please brief me about: crossing the Venezuelan border, arriving at the nearby Colombian consulate on the Ven side of the border. RathoreSS comments on Urgent question - Serious trouble with the Visa Nopes, Stephen. Please try to understand my situation... I am ready to pay the fine and all, but my priority is not saving money: 1.) I dont want to go to jail or to be deported back to India. 2.) I would prefer having another visa which legalizes my stay in Colombia. 3.) I dont want to leave this country right now, 1-2 months later may be. Please keep posting your views, guys and in case you need any further information let me know. I would be more than happy to let you know anything you want to know in turn for the wondderful and innovative advice I am getting from you.

RathoreSS comments on Urgent question - Serious trouble with the Visa And to add, I am ready to pay upto 500USD to the any official in DAS or external/internal ministry to get a visa for other 6 months without leaving the country as it would be less than the expense going to miami staying there for 4-5 days and then coming back...and that too will not be sure if they will give me visa in Miami or reject it on the basis of my overstaying :( So, I would choose the safer option, pay 500USD to any official apart from the visa fees, who can get me a visa. If anyone knows any official, please let him know my e-mail address rathores2004 at gmail.com and ask him to contact me immediately. the 500USD is open to negotiation :)

Hi Gator, Thanks for your advise. if I decide to say here for the next 2-3 months, how much will I be charged for overstaying when I will be leaving the country? If there any other way, I can pay to DAS officials and get another visa, say a tourist visa for 6 months.. or I should go to Miami because I have a 10 year USA visa, and then apply for a visa for colombia from Miami and then come back to Miami which option is better, viable and cheaper and legal. I mean I dont want to take any risk support, I go to Miami and apply for a Colombian visa and they deny me a visa because I overstayed then I would be in no man's land :-o

RathoreSS comments on RathoreSS Guys, I have a genuine and a Unique problem. I was invited in Colombia by a Colombian company for a business visit and meetings and if everything went well we will be doing business together in Colombia and my job was based in Colombia. My company is in India and I applied for a business visa in India, howeveer the stupid guys at the embasy gave me a visa only for 180 days and the visa is called "Visitante Temporal". Now my visa has expired 5 days ago. I went to the DAS office in Cartagena a few days ago before the expiry of my visa and they told me that my visa can not be extended, neither can I get a new business visa, work permit or even a tourist visa. I dont have any solution now? Can you suggest a visa attorney here in Cartagena or someone who deals in Visas and everything as the DAS officials were not at all helpful. I am really confused and dont know what to do. Please help.
