raquel23 comments on Which visa for my child?

thanks gator, you have helped so much... :)

raquel23 comments on Which visa for my child?

Hi Gator, so what you are saying is definitely get the tourist visa before entering into Colombia. I will do that then and also get this paper filled out, if possible. The thing is, its a bit of a sticky situation. The father and i never talk. Basically, he has never seen is child since he was born and he is almost 5 now. Probably the best thing i could do like you said, is get the paper filled out showing i have full custody and rights over him, if i cannot get the father to fill out this form. How long does it take to get approved for a tourist visa?

raquel23 comments on teaching in colombia

Can i apply for the visa while im in colombia during the 6 months? And about how long does it take to get it approved and which visa would i need? Thank you

raquel23 comments on tourist visa

yes gator, i am not speaking about my fiance and our k-1 visa. I am saying that we would like to help our friends come here from Colombia. How fast can my friends in colombia get the tourist visa and how can i figure out all the info. i need about it?

raquel23 comments on tourist visa

hi robert, thanks. but my fiance and i yest, we have a k-1 visa and are already half way throug the process. We are looking to bring his friends over which are in a band. But, we dont want the visa for artists. its way too hard to get and too much time. We would like to get the tourist. But, its so hard to find all this info. on the computer. i looked visajourney, here, and bogota, embassy. It seems like nothing is realy CLEAR on specific information.

raquel23 comments on Does anybody know?

thanks robert and static :)

raquel23 comments on Does anybody know?

thanks mafe, i also bought tickets from those sites... im trying to find something that maybe i have never heard of before. Thank you :)

raquel23 comments on tourist visa

hi guys, its a visa to come to u.s. from colombia. my fiance said it is 141 dollars and its easy to get. He sent me the link to the colombian website and showed me the page. It showed the process of it and its called a B-1 or P-1 visa. Something like that. Is this true? And he says there is no rush because it is easy to get. Hey robert, yea. those are areas close to me..i had family in Brookville, In.

raquel23 comments on which visa

thanks everybody for your advice, well... they would be coming as artists in search for some shows to perform, so they wouldnt have anything set up before they come or at least not untill very close for their arrival. From reading everybodys responses im assuming the easiest and fastest visa would be a tourist visa?? I assume... So then, when they do come home and while visiting i can help them find some bookings.. How does that sound to everybody?

raquel23 comments on which visa

hi gator, how could they apply for a visa together, as a band... because i am worried about some of them being approved and others being denied. It would be useless if some could come and the other members cannot.

raquel23 comments on travel and living abroad while waiting for visa

Thank you gator, this helped so much to understand the process better. i have been checking out visajourney and it has also helped me alot. your words are appreciated. :)

raquel23 comments on travel and living abroad while waiting for visa

Thanks gator.. and yes to number 3.. we are alredy half way through process i believe.. we have our NOA1.. what about the apt. at the NVC here in the states? Is that something i have to go to with the K-1 visa? Would i have to return back to states for that apt.?

raquel23 comments on guacharaca

Hi, thanks for being concerned. Well, we are applying for the k-1 visa. but we have been waiting for so long. we dont want to wait anymore and just get married. I will be there in bogota in January, and we would like to get married then, but dont want to mess the process up of the visa. Thank you

raquel23 comments on Which visa if any?

thanks gator and baq. I dont have certification yet. I dont plan on moving untill maybe 1 or 1 1/2 yrs, so i guess that gives me eneough time to plan and do everything. also, the kids father is not involved AT ALL. for nothing, has never even seen him. i dont think there will be a problem there. thanks for the info.

raquel23 comments on Which visa if any?

thanks gator, i looked under the colombian consulate, cant find info. on what i need. where would i look and do you know which visa? would i be able to work their? thank you

raquel23 comments on Papers for k-1 visa

Thank you everybody for the input. thank you robert, all this really helps. I am pretty much learning the system now and since being on the visajourney.com, that has helped also.

raquel23 comments on Papers for k-1 visa

Thanks robert, but my fiance's birth certificate is not needed to send out with my I-129f yet, correct?

raquel23 comments on Papers for k-1 visa

robert, i did see all those things,so you made a good guess. I wanted the assurance. I want to make sure when i send out everything that it is correct and i wont get an RFE. Now, all the things that you just listed abocve,do i send all those things out together with the I-129f? Do i have to include copy of my fiance's birth certificate? Thank God i do have all that stuff. Thanks Robert

raquel23 comments on Passport for visa

raquel23 comments on Another post about visa

I'll let you know MaSep :)

raquel23 comments on Another post about visa

hey MaSep, yes, we are thankful we have this friend because we probably wouldnt be able to afford an attorney on top of other things that we had to pay for.

raquel23 comments on Another post about visa

Thanks everybody for your advice. It all helped a bunck. Luckily, we have a good friend of my aunt in laws taking care of everything for us free of charge. He knows everything about the visas because he worked in immigration for 30 years and is now retired. Whoooo, what a relief. Dont have to pay for lawyers or handle the paperwork. Thank you Lord! :)

raquel23 comments on Moving to Colombia

I know this will turn out good and thank you to the Aunt of my fiance', she has a friend that worked in immigration and visas for 30 years and is now retired. She made a little phone call for us and he's going to help us with everything free of charge!!!! Wahoo!!! This is saving us time and money!! Thanks everybody for your advice. It is really appreciated. :)

raquel23 comments on Moving to Colombia

Wow, i am really surprised how alot of people on here can be so harsh. What is wrong with bringing my kids. I know how Colombia is. My husband and I will have a good income. If someone wants to move to another country and raise their kids in that culture and be fluent in another language, what is so wrong with that?? So much for you guys having confidence in another person.

raquel23 comments on Moving to Colombia

Thanks robert, i will do that. Atrevido, I tried that site but i dont speak Spanish fluently. Is there another website in English where i can find the same info.? thank you.

raquel23 comments on Moving to Colombia

i have a passport, have to purchase them for the kids still. I have to apply for a visa? Which one? How can i find out the paperwork and all this info.? Thanks gator

raquel23 comments on getting visa for boyfriend

Wow, this is going to be more work than i thought. ok, its like $455 dollars just to file the I-129F? Funny, but i didnt find any of this stuff on visajourney.com. When i was visiting him in Colombia we did get a letter notarized about our relationship and everything that needed to be said on it. Is it possible you can send me your address just in case i need some more advice on this? Mine is raquelklayman at hotmail.com. Thank You

raquel23 comments on getting visa for boyfriend

ok, well. next month i will be applying for the fiance visa. Thanks crazy4cali. your input helps. And no, the Aunt hasnt been giving him advice. He has just been trying to figure out everything his own. We will be doing all this without a lawyer and I have actually decided that for now on Im figuring out all the information we need. Its just a little difficult when he is there and Im here. Oh well, time will come soon eneough. First step: File I-129F

raquel23 comments on getting visa for boyfriend

Thanks Robert, I went on visajourney.com. It is a good website and has really helped with a lot of info. I have really been researching this now and i'm going to file a petition with the I-129F form (K-1). I understand this will take time and money but..the things you do for love, huh? Anyways, my fiance's aunt lives in Miami and is a citizen of the U.S. now. She is originally from Colombia. So, she knows alot about the visas and is going to help us in anyway that she can. Thankfully we have her on our side. She also had a really good friend that works with the visas and she is getting in contact with him. Sadly, we were planning on having him over by November. I suppose even if we did everything exactly right and were on top of filing everything on time, November is not possible huh? Ok, well, on to filing the petition. First step.

raquel23 comments on getting visa for boyfriend

Thank you everyone for your input. Both of us for sure are in love and have been together for awhile now. We were already planning to get married and we will have our life in Colombia. We are just trying to get him over here first so we can save up alot of money before we settle our lives in Colombia. If that means we have to sign papers to get married sooner then what we planned to bring him over, then that is what has to happen. Does anybody know about how long this whole process takes? Months? Thank You

raquel23 comments on getting visa for boyfriend

Ok, so from what I am understanding he should get a fiance visa? How would he get that when I am here and he is there? Right now he is going through alot of work and paperwork to get his tourist visa. He says then if I marry him here in the states after he comes, we can sign to get married and he will be granted a visa to stay here as long as he wants and to work. Is this correct? How can I help him when i am here and he is there?

raquel23 comments on Teaching and moving to Bogota
