overnight in Bogota Man there is only one place to stay in Bogota and thats the RESIDENCE HOTEL TEQUENDAMA. NOT NOT NOT the Hotel Tequendama (thats really expensive and just an ordinary hotel) The Residence usually have a suite (kitchen, bathroom {sometimes TWO bathrooms.. Why I need TWO bathrooms is beyond, but hey, while in Bogota etc... LOL } a seperate living dining room and then a massive bedroom. To get to the Tequendama is really really easy. Airport - Taxi to Downtown (about a 15 minute drive) turn left and then come back on yourslef and voila you're there !!! About $5USD. I love Bogota and I LOVE This hotel. The staff are so great, friendly yet NOT pushy. Also VERY VERY Safe with lots of security......

Tequendama Try the RESIDENCE Tequendama (NOT the Tequendama Hotel, it's next door) I stay there all the time and love it. Last time it was just the 2 of us and the suite we had was MASSIVE with 2 bathrooms. I know that they have interconnecting rooms, so they may be able to help. Its (in my humble opinion {humble; ME----HUH} LOL) the best place to stay in downtown Bogota.

Getting there ! If I didn't want to catch a bus (shaking with fear and horror at THAT thought) is there any other way of getting to DdL ? What would a cab from Bogota and back cost does anyone know ? Is there an airport that would be even mildly convienient for VdL ? My wife isd esperate to go there and I would love to, but oh dear that bus ride !!! :)

residecias Tequendama This is a MUST stay at place in downtown Bogota. The hotel Tequendama is niext door, do not get confused. I am talking about the RESIDENCE of Tequendama. The staff are the best of the best. So helpful, so friendly and so welcoming. The suites are HUGE. Living area, dining area, basic kitchen, bathroom and MASSIVE bedroom. Last stay we, for some reason known only to them, were given a suite with 2 bathrooms. This place is basic but with the added benefit of the security and all the above, i would NEVER stay anywhere else in Bogota, Downtown Beautiful COLOMBIA.... LOL

Beautiful Colombia I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Colombia, like every single country in the world has some wonderful positives about both living and also visiting there. It also, like every other country in the world has some negative thigs about living and visiting there. I hate to disillusion people but there is no such place as Utopia (well Australia comes close but even we havea thorn in the side. It's called a Conservative government run by John Howard !!!! But thats a different story.... LOL ) Relax people. enjoy the good and great things about Colombia and if possible, try to fix some of the negatives..... There, thats my 2 cents worth....
