Precortesiana comments on Insane Idea but would love your input! I wouldn't you probably would be ok until you hit Colombia if you change from the H2. after you enter Colombia, all bets are off, regardless of vehicle. Not advised.

Precortesiana comments on Brief travel guide to Cali safety level in Cali so..........the beauty of Colombian women has piqued my interest yet again. what is the safety level of a white man in Cali? when I went to Bogota in 2005, the taxi cabs were suspect. I can imagine the same in Cali. If I missed a thread that covers this, I apologize for creating a new one. I want to go in early April. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

Precortesiana comments on Visas 101 same thing thanks for the comments - they were very helpful. she does not have any issues, i.e. any overstay or anything like that...she has told me repeatedly that she has been denied twice and I am thinking this is the bad luck of the draw and she should apply again until (hopefully) she gets it. any further advice???

Precortesiana comments on first visit I just went down to Bogota over Thanksgiving and the trip went well. It was certainly different than Peru, the people seemed more friendly for sure. My Spanish is pretty good but is of a Mexican dialect from my work days there. You should be ok, just mind your business and pay attention to where you are and what time of day.

Precortesiana comments on girlfriend says She says the road is super safe. On the other hand, she has told me that the road from Bogota to Villavicencio (where her aunt lives) is one of the worst. She assured me that Paipa was a great place to visit and plus she's bringing out the bikini. Thanks for your post, your information eases my soul.

Precortesiana comments on Colombia safety guide road from Bogota to Paipa I am visiting Bogota and Colombia for the first time, arriving this Friday 11/18/05. My girlfriend and her family, from Bogota, want to take me up the termales in Paipa on Saturday. They have their own car. Based on the above map, it looks like a reasonably safe road to travel. any additional thoughts?
