Plato comments on Conservative Republicans Strangely Silent On Success Of Maarsk Alabama Rescue Mission Douglas, Obama did mess with the Rules of Engagement. Tactics is not his domain. Apparently, the SEALs could of ended the ordeal a lot sooner when the Captain jumped in the water. The Bainbridge could have blown the life boat to bits.

Plato comments on Conservative Republicans Strangely Silent On Success Of Maarsk Alabama Rescue Mission I thought President Obama was doing his job, and he did it well. I didn't vote for Obama, but I think the man has some teeth. Don't fall asleep on him. After all ,you can't tell me that a man who plays basketball can't be aggressive. He just kicks your ass with style. Look out Hugo, Ahmadinejad, and Kim Jong-Il. He's just feeling you out. Plato

Plato comments on El Colombiano says the unemployment rate in Medellin for feb was 16.6%! Gringoloid - thank you. Good to see you here. If one were to count all people staying at home playing Nintendo (those that are out of the labor force), the unemployment rate in the U.S. will be about 20%. The "Unemployment Rate" published by BLS are those people who who unemeployed but ARE LOOKING FOR A JOB in the four weeks they are unemployed. And of course, as you mentioned Gringoloid, there are the other U measures. Plato

Plato comments on From Plato Morphus, MaFe, MiamiMike, ColombianGringo, man . . . it's good to read you guys! Old friends. ColombianGringo, didn't get around to it, but I always have it mind to do it. Why the hesitation? I don't know how it will affect my career having dual citizenship. Sorry to be criptic, but that's all I can say about that. What it does mean is that I have to wait and see where my career trajectory lies and then I'll make a final decision. Morphus, I'd love to train with you. But dude, I'm no where near where you are. I've trained for almost a year and dropped 20 pounds, and certainly toned up. I have a little more definition and certainly more power in martial arts training. Guys in my age group (mid-40s) don't have the stamina and strength I have, which I am happy about because it says something about me. Nevertheless, I see some beasts in the gym pushing serious weight. Unbelievable what some guys can do! But I would certainly take you up on training with you and perhaps pick up more tips. Good to hear from you Morphus. MiamiMike and Mafe - good to hear from you too! Plato

Plato comments on From Plato Yes,still in NYC. Busy as hell. US politics and economics is as disappointing as it is interesting here - don't want to get into it here though. Still teaching in addition to my day job. So, with all this craziness in my life, I haven't had much time to read the board. Good to talk (write) to you though.

Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin LC, fine. I was wrong about the media not reporting details on Wooten. I don't fault you for researching stuff you're interested in. It's that I'm not interested in researching indepth this particular incident. The fact he tasered a kid is enough for me. Yes, Reagan is one of my personal heroes and I recall he was soft spoken but carried - and wasn't afraid to wield - a heavy stick. I'll stop here. I don't want tension between us because of politics. Take care. Plato
|
|
Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin LC, you know a lot about Wooten tasering his stepson. I didn’t need to know the details about why and how. How the hell can a grown man give into tapering his stepson? LC, are you kidding? Maybe you’re interested in researching these details. I’m not. It’s enough for me that the man tasered his son even for a nanosecond. Economics and foreign policy, however, are subjects I like to researech and talk about. Obama supports in income redistribution and wants to talk nice to the bad boys around the world.
|
|
Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin By the way - on the Troopergate deal: Palin's former brother-in-law used a taser on his 10-year old stepson - did you know that? He's not just an asshole - he's a FUCKING asshole! Yea, but the liberal media doesn't report THAT little detail. Plato

Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin Guys, just check the polls. Obama should be skyrocketed above McCain. That's not the case, isn't. Why? Oh . . . Sarah is an executive, both as a mayor - even of a small town -and as governor. This means she had to stick to her decisions that impacted her people in her home town and later in her home state. The other three, McCain, Obama, and Biden, never had such experience. You can belittle all you want, but she definetly has been in the court room of public opinion because of her executive status. Should we say the same for Barack Obama , the community organizer? Hmm? His buddy Bill Ayers the terrorist? His other buddy the Reverend Jeremiah Wright who hates America? "GOD DAMN AMERICA!!??" I mean, this guy was Obama's pastor and spiritual advisor for 20 years! How about Obama's other buddy Father Fledger (a supposed Catholic priest) who loves Louis Farrakan - a black militant? Obama voted "present" 130 times in the Chicago state senate instead of yea or nay? Come on man . . .please. that's qualifies as presidential balls to you? You can't vote "present" in a worldwide crisis or economic crisis. Of course, never having had executive experience, how could Obama know what it feels like to be held to one's decisions??? Throw dirt all you want at Palin, but she has much more to offer as a vice president than either Obama or Biden. Bridges to to No where? So??? What's your point? Obama doesn't change his mind either? Hmm? He's made quite a few flip flops. In fact, all politicians do. Douglas, as far as foreign policy experience, name a governor in our US who had overwelheming credentials as a foreign policy expert? Hmm? I don't recall Ronald Reagan having such experience and I believe there have been only two or three governors in our American history that had any. Oops? didn't Ronald Reagan help bring down the Iron curtin? So, that point is moot. I'll take McCain's experience as an POW and many years in the senate, many times often at odds with his fellow Republicans, over a community organizer experience any day to run this country. And another thing, Barack, as well as the democrats are no friends to Colombia. If they win, forget about the trade pact with Colombia. If McCain wins, Colombia will have the trade pact plus it will give the US more of a reason to protect US interests in Colombia if Hugo continues to fuck around with his Russian fighter jets. Capisce? Lastly, I like Barack but I think he's too green for me right now. Give him a few years in the senate. Have him make some meaningful contributions in this country like write some legislation and really expose himself to foreign affairs and he will be formidable. By the way: Hilary will not go against Palin? Wassup with that? You guys just don't know , do ya? Jajaja! Gotta go. Plato

|
Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin By the way, I'm an Independent, Latino, conservative on social issues, moderate on economic issues. I was originally a Reagan Democrat. My father - a hard core paisa - loved Reagan and his no fuck around foreign policy views. He was a blue collar worker and busted his ass in a factory. Didn't receive any help from the government and so forth. He earned his way in the USA. He came to the USA in the 1960s - el tiempo de el buen colombiano. With the bullshit going on in Colombia in the early 1980s, most Colombians in Queens, New York were pro-Reaganites, pro military.

Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin Good quote Aztec. I tell ya, the Democrats are suppose to sweep BOTH White House and the Congress. Something is seriously wrong with the party if they are not blowing McCain away from a long time ago. Their first mistake? They nominated Barack Obama instead of Hilary Clinton. If Hilary was nominated, it would have been all over. Bye bye McCain and whomever he would have picked as his running mate. Second mistake? Attacking Palin. BIG MISTAKE! The media didn't even focus a fraction on Barack's lack of experience as they are scrutinizing Palin. The media is - was(!) - Barack's best friend. Now it's his worst freakin' nightmare. Any negative campaign towards Palin insures a Republican victory in November 2008. What a brilliant play! Barack should focus on going toe to toe with McCain on bread and butter issues plus foreign policy - and the media should help him by ceasing their vicious assault on Palin - it's not helping him at all. The toss up states are Ohio, Michigan, and Florida that have large electoral votes. So, like I said before, any negative comments towards Palin helps the Republican ticket - thank you! Plato

Plato comments on Palin, Palin, Palin Keep 'em coming boys and girls. You'll only help the McCain-Palin ticket even more! Jajajaja! Thank you. And, Obama is losing ground big time because of this. You guys should stop taking shots at Palin and focus on attacking McCain's policies. The Dems have lost their minds on how to handle this. Remember, the DEMs are suppose to win this year hands down! It's not so apparent now with the focus on Palin - Jajaja!. What a brilliant move by McCain! Biden better be careful when he debates her. If he comes off like an asshole, middle-age white women in America will stand behind Palin no matter if she eats moose burgers. Oh, and feminism in America is bullshit! Feminists support liberal women only - not just women. Plato

Plato comments on For all you fight fans. Porto rico contra Mexico - Miguel Cotto v Antonio Margarito Old time boxing warriors - they were the best. It's not often you see a fight like that now. That's why MMA has taken off here in the States. I much rather prefer watching technical boxing bouts.

Plato comments on Hey Morphus - thanks a lot for your input on training. I appreciate it! Great articles. Plato

Plato comments on Wow. I read the article closely. It's awesome. Here's an excerpt of the article: "The reason for this is because when a high intensity burst of exercise is performed, the body burns more relative amounts of sugar, but burns more fat and calories after the workout. This effect can last from 16-48 hours, where low or moderate intensity exercise has no after burn effect. Another important aspect of this type of exercise is the hormonal balance that it creates. Low to moderate intensity exercise produces a lot of unopposed cortisol, leading to a catabolic, muscle burning state. High intensity exercise also produces cortisol, but does so along with growth hormone and testosterone, enhancing fat burning, leading to an anabolic, or muscle building state. Studies have shown the high intensity method to be more effective at burning fat and maintaining, or building, muscle mass than long duration, lower intensity aerobic workouts." That's amazing information. That's why I love these internet forums - you learn stuff! All sprinters are muscular. Just look at football players - wide receivers and running backs.
