How do Colombians make money?

Now, I have been in Colombia for over two years now. I have seen some crazy ways people earn a living here. lets start a list of the craziest things you have seen. It can be how some one makes money or just plain strange or crazy things. Living in Cucuta, they do not have gas stations. REALLY, I AM NOT KIDDING. Cucuta, is right next to Venezuela, where the gas is really cheap. So, everyone goes to Venezuela to buy gas and sell it in Cucuta. It´s funny because people sell it right in the middle ...

I am amazed at all the beautiful pictures of Colombia.

I have to admit, after looking at the pictures for the photo contest. Colombia is one of the most, if not the most beautiful countries in the World. I thought I would win the photo contest hands down (did not post all my pics), but now I see there are sooooooooooooooo many nice pictures. I have been to Cancun, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and numerous nice places in the states, but nothing compares to Colombia. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY. ...

EarthQuake

Hey, I live in Pamplona Norte Santander. We just had an earthquake yesterday around 6pm or so. Did anyone else out there feel it. That is the second earthquake in a month. What is going on in Colombia? ...

What do you think?

What does everyone think about having a chat area on this site? The post are great, but don't you think it would be better if we could have conversations here in a chat format and post thoughts? Just throwing something out there. Lets hear your thoughts and opinions. ...

Traveling by Bus in Colombia.

Again, my comments will not post so I am making a comment here. I have had the pleasure of traveling from Manizales to Pamplona.(17 hours) First, being confined for that long period of time kills any excitement of viewing any sights. Secondly, after boarding the bus in Manizales, the Police came aboard and video taped all the passengers, that was enough to make anyone feel uneasy. Thirdly, the mountains and curbs made me sick. Oh, I forgot to mention after traveling around 5 hours, the police bo ...

Newark Airport

Sorry, for some reason the sight will not let me make a comment in the comment section so I am making a comment here. I have never had a problem with Newark Airport. Someboby wrote there was not a direct flight to Colombia, that is wrong. I am sure things have not changed. I have flown directly to Colombia out of Newark a few times. The flight leaves around 3:30pm, but do not quote me on the time. This flight goes directly to Bogota, arriving around 8:30pm, depending on what time of year. Its th ...

Hey,
I must admit I was shocked by the comments. I had no idea so many people read these articles. First, thanks for all the suggestions. I do have common since, life is life no matter where you live. Like I stated in my first article, I am from Phila. watching your back and who you trust is a natural instinct.
I live in Pamplona Norte de Santander. Its a very small town with a huge college population. I have been in Colombia for about a year and a half. In Pamplona ...

Life is great

I am an American living in Colombia. I have a beautiful wife and daughter. Things could not be any better. Most of all the bad things you read about Colombia are not true. Yes, there are some situations that are dangerous, but what isn't dangerous aout life. I was born and raised in Phila., so living in Colombia is like living in heaven. I suggest that everyone should visit Colombia at least once. ...
