Instead of importing a car and going through all the red tape and paperwork and paying 35% tax on the new car plus a lot others duties, I would buy it locally, at least you get a warranty, show off less and it is easier to sell when time to go back.

I agree with PepeA, he also forgot to mention Cartagena is a heck of an expensive place to live, Barranquilla would be a better choice and is only 11/2 hours away so you can visit your in laws at any time. Peter.

What city is this now? Also I agree with the above posters, that would also save him from the 4X1000 tax they charge us and any other tax and deduction the bank might want to come up with.

But one word of caution , especially if he is an older gentleman.Try never to go alone to the ATM machine, never give his card to anyone or request help from strangers, they can easily switch it and will come back later and withdraw every penny he has, and one
last thing always go to a safe place, I alway prefer to go to the Mall instead of the corner machine. And oh course NEVER flash the Money.Good luck.

You are so funny Miguel You are right about TWO things: 1,I AM a nice guy. and 2, I DO get a lot of responses.

And NO, my service is nothing like that, in fact if more Men would know about me, there would be no mail-order-bride type of business. At least not as far as BARRANQUILLA is concerned.

After all I charge 1/10th of what they charge, and the girls choose YOU, and respond.

I JUST LOVE having to go IN PERSON,5 miles out of my way, spending 1 hour in line at the paper, paying US$110 out of my own pocket,(the exachange rate $1-Col$ is going down, publication costs on the rise) and submitting a photocopy of my Colombian cedula along with the text of the ad.EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT. That is how I amuse myself the most.:D

Young girls I am an Interpreter and a Tour Guide based in Barranquilla Colombia.I have been doing this for over 8 years now, and I can truly say I have seen it all. From girls using guys, to guys using girls.There are really no set rules in this game.

Luck has a lot to do with that too, if you are lucky you will find a good wife who will not grow old on you and will be with you hopefully until the day you die, and who would not want that.

So really nothing surprises me. On the other hand, I have seen American men, who lie to their wives back in America about going on a business trip, come here get a poor innocent girl, use her and abuse her and then dissapear.

I always recommend people interested in coming here to place an ad in the LOCAL PAPER, way before they come here, this will give them plenty of time to get to FEEL the girls out before they come here, and thus get an idea as to who they really want to meet and who they don`t.

A typical ad in the paper for a week, can yield you on the average 35 responses of girls of your preference as far as age ,color, with or without children and type of relationship you want.That is, serious or otherwise.Who will write to you directly with their picture.

I can help you do that, as well as find you a room here, and translate and guide you while you are here.

And if you find something worthwhile I also have 3-way calling service to help you keep in contact from home.

DON`T get me wrong, I am not trying to put the girls down, I am just being realistic, but You could also be helping a GOOD needy girl !!!
