NO traffic noise at all & not cold at night. No need for main service, there is a guy on site that will take care of anything that you need, he looks after the on site shop so that you don´t run out of things. There is a BBQ area which we did for the Sat night and we made a huge Sancocho for the Sunday. The surrounding area is beautiful, not sure what other activities there are, the owner will know all that. Spigmace: do you have web links for the fincas you were looking at? Just curious.

The prices are for up to 30 People, not per person so it works out great for parties. SO if you only had 10 people, that´s only 40,000 per person for the weekend! I was there for a birthday party (15s) and there was a band & BBQ going, great fun for all and cheap. There is also a big grass area where they have swings for the kids or they can play football. Like i say, there´s 6,420 M2 of space! IT´s not cold there at all, even for Colombian standards.

From what i remember, there are 4 different buildings where you can sleep so you do get privacy. There are about 40 single beds & 3 doubles. It would actually make a great investment if anyone was interested in buying it as there is tonnes of space apart from the building where many more cabins could be built and still maintain privacy (6.420 M2 of space!). I wanted to do this but i am having trouble selling my house at the moment to raise the cash. Would be a great investment to anyone thinking about a hostel / finca business

DAS don´t give you great faith in Colombian National security do they, their offices are organised chaos. I think everyone has their own beautiful DAS story.

Directions: Enter Mayorista and don't stop at the main Banco de Bogota branch...continue about three hundred yards to "row" number five and turn right. It appears to be a very strange place for making a DAS deposit. If there are a lot of vegetable trucks parked in the area they could be blocking the view of the bank. I´ve no idea where this is. Other is at the side of Premium plaza, the one inside premium plaza doesn´t do it.

You don´t have to try to explain my own comment to me Sapo, i never admited to being an expert..I didn´t value the house nor did i/do i know about the house prices in the area, if you understood my comment you would have understood that i said "if the house is valued at 375, that will be the market value and to me, it´s worth every penny." because that is what the agent valued the house at and i´m sure he´s not the only agent that Ken has been in touch with... also... i have actually seen the house many times which is why i made a comment. I do also know that offers can be made on houses so stop looking for cracks in peoples comments and stating the obvious, all i´m saying is that no-one is trying to fiddle anyone here (This thread).. All i say is..Beautiful home & maintained to a very high standard, 10 / 10 No more comments from me.

Can´t believe i´m explaining this but here goes. When you make a negative comment (Or a positive comment, which ever) you should have at least some sort of basis to the comment otherwise it doesn´t mean anything, just words or noise. Negative comments without basis = idiot

I only scan over this site now and again mainly because of People like Eng65, who was giving the same smart arsed comments a year ago, i would take more notice of what my neighbours dog leaves at the entrance of the apartment of a morning than i would of his comments. Anyway, i know Ken personally and have been to the house a number of times and i can say without any shadow of a doubt that this is a wonderful house, the house is beautifully designed with great attention to detail in every aspect which gives it loads of personality, not like a lot of the new builds you see..I LOVE this house. As for Ken and his wife, they would be the first people i would go to if i was looking for someone i could trust here. Ken is a Gentleman with impeccable manners and a real descent down to earth guy, everyone who meets him will agree with me. Ken´s wife is an incredible interesting lady who is an artist, you will see traces of this around the house. If the house if valued at 375, that will be the market value and to me, it´s worth every penny. If you see this house for yourself, you will fall in love with it.

Tomtom. I did hear of someone who offered to sign you up for a student visa for a price (around 800,000 i think it was), under the table sort of thing, they sorted all your papework out. GBob. Didn't realise it was 68,000, still, i'd pay a bit more not to go DAS every month. Thanks for the info

hmmm, interesting Ujay..I'll be arriving in a few weeks and plan to stay about 8 months or so. I normally receive 60 days on arrival (i hope this is still the case?) after the 60 days, i have to go back to that horrid place DAS and pay 130,000 (i think) for 30 days extention, multiplied by 6 is 780.000 . What could i expect in fines if i don't pay?

Thanks for that Tomass, think i'll do just that. Ringing people direct would cut some of the paperwork out. I have done that before and the landlady turned into dragon so have to be careful.

Nice comment Lcacique. I only get along with rational, think for themseves sort of person, not the type of person who just shouts his opinion so loud and doesn´t want to hear the other side of the story, i could never be friends with someone like that. I felt it and i´m living in a house at the moment so much have felt quite strong high up, from the amount i have felt over the last year, this is an issue that i never knew was here.. This is swaying me to invest in a house rather than a apartment. I lot of apartment blocks say that they are earthquake resistent but i wouldn´t bet on them being able to withstand a big one if it ever came.

Agree, you do have to stand back and take stock of how lucky we are. Nothing gets on my nerves more than people that have everything but don´t know it.
