Pappassito comments on Colombian Military Tricks FARC into releasing hostages So very happy to see Ingrid`s release,as well as the three gringos who have suffered so long.. El bobito chavez should be very happy.. After all, when Ingrid is elected as the next president,it will expand his influence greatly.

Pappassito comments on Come see Piedad Cordoba speak tomorrow Reasoned opinion already given: She`s a Chavez puppet & utter trash; with regard to your bowel movement,it appears to be from an oral source & liquid in nature.
Pappassito comments on Come see Piedad Cordoba speak tomorrow "Raise the level of your discourse, gentlemen. She is" Ask any of your Colombian friends what they think of this slug. You might not want to mention that you`re a big fan of hers. Colombians with any sense, that is.

Pappassito comments on Helmet needed in Colombia, if only we could afford it. USD 1000 I`ve got one of those in my closet as we speak, which I paid $225 for about 4 years ago, though it is in perfect condition.. I sold my bike last year.. Thing is,how could one get it down there besides flying just to bring that?

Pappassito comments on Mom and dad stores cheaper than big supermarkets. La tienda de la esquina I remember hearing that Wal Mart was supposed to hit Medellin in a big way last year,& then never heard anything about it again.... I remember people who worked for Exito telling me that they were getting ready for this... Did this indeed happen?

Pappassito comments on 10 impressions of my trip to Medellin Good to hear you had a nice time. However,Mango`s is full of traquetos and prepagos. Sadly,Palmita`s has gotten to be the same way. There are many, many better places to go in Medellin.
Pappassito comments on Some Random comments on Colombia and South America Good post! However, I have spent a lot of time in Medellin,& I see far more activity from the traquetos(narcos) than you seem to. "The drug lords can’t afford to operate thier business here because the local labor force has gotten too expensive now. So, they’ve moved out to the jungles." The narcos are EVERYWHERE in Medellin.... Clubs, resturants, malls, they are very obvious. There are many businesses that cater primarily to them, because they have the big bucks. Go out to Sabana Grande Mall any weekend. You will see them. Or any of the large discotecas. Yes.Medellin is a very nice city,& the paisas can be very friendly. But don`t kid yourself. it can still be just as dangerous as anyplace else.

Pappassito comments on Colombian Nurses... Spot on,Gator, this is very true. The testing isn`t easy at all... And there are some scurrlious operators out there trying to take Colombian nurses for a ride, wanting the little money that they make in exchange for the so called "American dream". Hospitals here typically pay international nurses less... substantially less.for the 1st 2 years that they are here. It is different for the filipinio nurses.. most of them grow up speaking english.. so the language barrier isn`t there for them. There are schools set up in that country to specifically train nurses to work in the US.. We call them "nurse farms". Many filipino nurses try to promote themselves by saying they are the best in what they do. While it is true that the hospitals here love them because they`ll work many hours for little money, myself & most of my counterparts find them to be very clannish & uncaring with our patients. Truly caring for your patients and their outcomes is an essential part of this profession. That is why I think that Colombian nurses do well here. Unfortunately,we are being overrun by the "filipino mafia"... a common term among gringo nurses.

Pappassito comments on Pappassito Why? Becuse I won`t pay exorbitant prices to rent from you? You really should read the TOS for this website,& stop sending me nasty, threatening emails.. and get back to what you REALLY do for a living.... trying to jack people out of their money.

Pappassito comments on Mario Hi Mario.. I`m now in Houston & I do travel to Bogota/Medellin a lot... Going to Bogota for the holidays.. We need to meet up for a brewski....

Pappassito comments on SINCE TODAY.......ROOMS TO SHARE IN NORTH BOGOTA, WE ARE IN SALE!!!!!!!! Yes,he`s mentioning a price.... for a ROOM... In the email I recieved from him the other day he wanted $85/night for a simple apt.... Oh,but since I wanted an apt for over a month,he offered me a "special price" of $65/night... Some deal....with his used-car salesman come-on, I wouldn`t rent a bicycle from this .... person.

Pappassito comments on any ideas for pereira? I didn`t make reservations, we happened upon the hotel while driving around looking for one.. Their email is hotelmarlizz at yahoo.com Telefax: (096) 323 1010 y 322 8141 Avenida Simon Bolivar Cra.16 No.32-02 There is a resturant next door to the hotel which serves excellent Colombian food. As far as partying in Pereira goes, there is a strip in a part of town which has many clubs on it... including Mango Biche It appears to be a part of the Mango`s chain from Medellin, & they definitely cater to narcos y prepagos,so I wasn`t much impressed by it... But there are many other clubs there which look nice.

Pappassito comments on Going rate for flights out of Miami? Thanks Dave, I know you go back & forth quite a bit.. Aeropostal?? I had the worst experience with them getting stuck in Caracas en route to Valencia once.. They were a joke as far as help went.. Everyone bitches about customs in Colombia, but that`s `cause they`ve never been through it in Caracas... that being said, since I have approx. 3 months until my trip.should I book now?? Or wait a bit?? Thanks again.
Pappassito comments on any ideas for pereira? You`re in luck... There`s a brand new hotel, Marlizz over in Dosquebradas which I stayed in a couple of months ago.. I had a large room with a nice bed for 50k / night. I looked at the Torreon... too damn gloomy and the rooms stank. The folks over at the Marlizz are very friendly and the place is spotless. It`s just across the bridge... Pereira traffic SUCKS.
