Muchas gracias jorgediaz,Simon y Colombianogringo, sus comentarios me estimulan. Yo soy tímida para hablar por está vía, la verdad es la segunda o tercera vez que lo hago, pero como he vivido algo similar sentí el impulso de escribir. A mí me ha ayudado que la persona que fué mi motor y mi impulso para aprender inglés no habla español, las primeras veces que yo recibí llamadas de él yo no entía absolutamente nada pero mi corazón saltaba de dicha y valoraba que me llamara desde tan lejos (Canadá), por lo tanto yo empecé a estudiar y ahora al menos puedo hablar con él. Colombianogringo usted es acertado al decir que será cuidadosa cuando le corrija para no herirla y no provocar disgustos, pero yo le aconsejo que cuando esté con ella se olvide del español y le hable solamente en inglés, ella se lo agradecerá mucho creáme. Yo soy una mujer adulta quien está tomando clases de inglés los sábados, no es fácil aprender otro idioma cuando usted es adulto. Yo entiendo un poquito más cuando la persona habla frente a mí o por teléfono, pero tengo mucho problema para entender cuando escucho CD o veo televisión. Pienso que la mejor forma de aprender inglés es hablando así cometa miles de errores, cuando escucho una palabra nueva inmediatamente la escribo y trato de memorizarla, además siempre pido el favor de que me corrijan y me permitan saber mis fallas, trato de ser constante ya que esto es un proceso en el que día a día uno mismo se dá cuenta que entiende un poquito más, me gusta aprender canciones en inglés ello me ha permitido adquirir más vocabulario, y cuando estoy tomando una ducha canto en inglés, entonces siento que mi lengua está menos trabada y cada vez puedo hacerlo más rápido. Yo todavía no hablo inglès, pero lo amo con toda mi alma y disfruto entender un poquito más, mi sueño es poder hablarlo y no desfalleceré hasta lograr mi objetivo. Mi consejo es que ella no se conforme con las clases, que estudie por su cuenta y lo haga con cosas que disfrute, que vea programas en inglés para niños porque el vocabulario es más fácil, que le sienta amor al inglés porque es más fácil aparender cuando amas lo que estas haciendo y que piense que ahora tiene un motivo especial y adicional para aprenderlo como es su matrimonio y posiblemente su residencia en otro país .

Iam Martha and by coincidence only until today I read your complaint. It is the first time that I write for this way. I do not english but I try to learn therefore excuse my mistakes. First I want to say that your girlfriend never called me. I was who from my cell phone called her for ask the hour of her arrival and only just in that moment I know about you changed the plans. I never told her was no my problem I only told her my Frank rejected people by respecting your reservation and my brother also lost a client that wanted privacy and all the apartment by the same date, so for this reason we lose money. People is more important for me than money. When explaind to her that she told me had been her fault but she never told me help her contrary told me ok, ok, and good-bye that was all. Iam sorry Mister, and I want to say you if in the future you desire to be in our apartment you and your girlfriend are WELLCOME and will be a pleasure to attend you personally, the unique thing that I ask is please don't change the things one day before. Thank you so much for the solidarity my gringos friends, all Colombia is waiting for you.

Two stories Elmo: First, when 9/11 happened I think we were all shocked. I had a small American flag that I put up outside my house. I went to the store and tried to purchase a larger one. They were all sold out. You could look up and down my street in Canada and you could so many American flags it was breathtaking. 9/11 changed the we do things in the world. As a Canadian, I and everyone I knew were saddened by the ordeal. 2nd Story: I personally know a man a fireman who survived 9/11. He lost many of his friends on that day. He watched them fall as the floor gave in, in front of him. He ended up in the hospital while most his friends died. He is on a disability and is living here in Colombia. He suffers from allot things attributed to 9/11. He survived but he is haunted by that day and his life will never be the same. He is a real hero to me. Thanks Elmo for the post. I hope this thread survives.

Hey Mike: Your always putting in a good word for Bogota Lodging. The only way you get those bottom line rates there is to rent for 30 days. You won't get that rate for a week lodging. Bob is a great guy. I've met him and really like him. He has sold most of his interest to another guy however. Now Bob rents out his finca where he spends most of his days. I really enjoy talking to him. He has lots of stories especially about the Marriage Agency he once ran. I only wish you could stay at Martha's place for a few days FREE and see what she has to offer. Nice thing about Martha's is that you are free to come and go as you wish with nobody watching you. And sometimes when you rent just one room you have the entire apartment to yourself. Depending on who is renting at the time. Also, you can cook at Martha's and save extra money. Now I am serious about having a few free days at Martha's. Not just because I would like you to say a few good things about her place but also because you have been good to me. My teeth are still looking great. I have you to thank for this. I will be leaving for the Philippines to try retirement there on November 1st. I love Colombia and it's people. The language barrier has made it difficult for me to really enjoy myself here however.
