OneHappyBoy comments on Stuck with pesos

400k pesos? $200 bucks... lets see.. I think i would put a few pesos in the tip jar at Starbucks with each visit.. I am sure it will be appreciated!

OneHappyBoy comments on Bathrooms etiquitte

ok..that explains alot.....My wife, when we first stayed any amount of time with each other, was shacked up in my little shitty 800 sqft apartment in Seattle with me for 3 weeks..Being a wonderful host, rather than drive 30 miles into work each day, and leaving her home alone, I elected to work out of the house for that time.. Me, each morning, like clock work, I would arise and esconce my butt on the porcelin throne, read the paper, contemplate life, and relish in the fact that i had a very sweet, sexy, and mucha hott Colombiana laying in a bed, not more than 20 ft away, but ass naked, and mine for the taking, When I was through, being rather tight quarters, I would spray a bit of sandalwood air freshener, and be on my merry way..About 6 days later, She quietly, and a bit sheepishly, announced her inability to take a dump and was feeling miserable...We had a heart to heart about the biologic reality that what goes in must come out. She countered that in Colombia it was more than inappropriate to shit in mixed company...Shortly after, we drove down to the drug store and bought a few essentials to grease the pipes, so to speak, for her.... There we were, in this little shit ass apartment. Me, working at my desk, and her letting a bottle of magnesium citrate marinate her colon...When she ran for the bathroom, I thought she wouldn't come out for a week... After some time, all I could hear was the spraying of sandalwood air freshener and then the shower for the next half hour...When she came out, it took all I had to keep a straight face, and she acted like nothing happened what so ever...To ths day, she prefers for me to think that nothing so vile as crap comes out of her butt.

_______ and beer.. .just fill in the blank with any food hot and brown.. any self respecting gringo will appreciate it

OneHappyBoy comments on

yea, I don't know what is up with Colombia's economy.. My wife is college educated, but struggled for years....here she was accepted with open arms, and is so thankful she works her butt off.... One job she worked at, in Colombia, doing project related work, she was paid about every 45 days...Once she got here, and started getting a regular paycheck every two weeks.. she was happy as a lamb...thought it was manna from heaven... Her ex- by contrast, teaches at a University, owns a finca and a couple of condos in Bogota... No worries what so ever.... It seems there is no middle ground there...

OneHappyBoy comments on What does the upcoming US presidential election mean for Colombia?

let me throw this out there... What is wrong with supporting unions and unionists??? (I tend to lean toward organized labor, but not in all cases, and I don't think it maybe the best model in certain markets).. Countries that tend to suppress labor organizations tend to have few people in the middle class.

OneHappyBoy comments on What does the upcoming US presidential election mean for Colombia?

GS-- This administration had no road blocks for 6 years..... it got us two wars...emmigration of jobs to China, and the largest shift of wealth, from the middle class to the upper class... Plus, we have been borrowing our national debt from China to fight an unpopular, war of choice, in Iraq.. I remember, when this whole banking/mortgage debacle was in full roar.. Bush was having one of his republican friendly press conference/town hall meetings, espousing, "this is the ownership society.. we have made it possible for every citizen to own their own home" All the while banks in Nevada, California, and FLA were selling option payment ARMS, while giving people home equity lines of up to 150% of their appraised value, at closing. What i would hope, is we can get back to common sense, and focus of real industrial economic growth in our region, including investing in the Americas rather than Asia.

OneHappyBoy comments on What does the upcoming US presidential election mean for Colombia?

I agree!!!... This joker we have now in office, has screwed us like no other.... Now, I am not a fan of Cuba, but when Uncle Fidel got sick and old, we could have easily offered a an olive branch, and influenced positive change..I would rather being in a pissing match with Raul, and have a dialogue to build on, rather than Russian distroyers calling Cuba a home port. I agree about $$ in SA, rather than Iraq, eastern Europe, etc.. I think we could go along ways in getting furniture, clothes, etc produced in SA, and tell India and china to go pound salt.. Thats what happens when we hired ol' stay the course George to office... Elmo! I agree! Bill may have been doing Monica, but at least the economy was 'fundementally sound" ....

OneHappyBoy comments on Transfer cash to Colombia.

Remember, bonds originating in colombia are still not investment grade, though probably will in the future.....If you are talking significant amounts of cash...wire is best, but you get hosed on the exchange rate.. let me offer that you attempt to hedge your deposits, if you are going to do this periodically, depending on the amount you are depositing, to try to get some help with the fluxuation of the currencies....

OneHappyBoy comments on What does the upcoming US presidential election mean for Colombia?

Agreed.... I have long been a proponent of political and economic regionalism, rather than globalization.. We end up with countries, with Globalization, that subsidize their economy, through currency manipulation... If we stuck with taking care of the Americas, the whole hemisphere would prosper, the US stronger, and the likes of China and Russia with less influence in our financial system...

OneHappyBoy comments on why'd you come to colombia???

yes.. a compliment...with your recent trips to france.. I was saying I wish I was born french:)

OneHappyBoy comments on why'd you come to colombia???

Funny thing,i feel closer, in some ways, to my wife's family, in Colombia; knowing them for about a year, than my whole WASP/Catholic, emotionally pillaging horde that i have been yoked with for the better part of 45 years.... BTW Kat... Thats the best picture you have posted to date..... DAMN!!! wish I was born french!!!

OneHappyBoy comments on Moving to Colombia with criminal records- Help.

If the worst you have done was get a DUI and got caught smoking a bit of reefer; especially, since one of your offenses in over 10 years ago.. Even the Federal Government, in the US of A, has bigger fish to fry... I am sure the Colombian government is cut from the same cloth. I really doubt you have a problem....

Ah.. its good to see there is a strong desire to maintain the freedom of thought and expression, on this site, for all to participate.. We we are done dealing with stalkers and trolls, and those who wander off topic, we will deal with those damned comments, from those who don't share our own ideas and ideals!!! We will hit them, and we will hit them hard!!!!!!!!!! damned those paganists!!! damned them!!!! Yes, we have had our fair share of trolls, but stalkers?? Cyber stalkers? hmmmm... May we try inclusion and tolerance.....Surely we get a fair share of dumbass posts here, and the peerage keeps those in check.. People figure out who the trolls are and either choose or not choose to participate.... Stalkers?? Cyber stalkers?? have an example??

simple----- my sweet Colombian wife or an American self centered, Volvo driving, materialistic, social climbing, beee yatch....... ah..... my sweet Colombiana any day of the week....Content to be at home; simple diversions, like dinner out, or a simple gift means more than gold to her... My limited experience with Colombian women is just my wife, but I have to say, she does more to be a partner and best friend that my ex-wife, and all of the other female diversions, I have ever acquianted myself with... funny thing, I have a couple of sister in laws that are smashingly beautiful, but can't find a decent guy, Colombian or otherwise, to treat them decent... One met some foreigner.. they went out, then he went to another city.. Told her he didn't have anyway to communicate with her for about a week while he visited friends, "but would sure love to meet up with her the next time" he was in Bogota... My sincere opinion is its a tough world out there, to find that some one special, and when you find them, either in a foreign country, or domestically, you have to take it. Kind of like needing to swing the bat if you want to hit a home run...

Yes. leaning to #4..

My post got nuked earlier talking about the economy, but fitting here.. the government just nationalized AIG with 80% equity interest.... With this, and if the US govt continues propping up these companie and taking equity positions, cash will start to flow in the financial markets, and the economy will pick up.... This will continue to strengthen the dollar.. Hopefully the smaller economies will benefit, including Colombia's.. Still think the COP will close the year 1:2500.. Also, I think the global economy, specifically emerging markets, will lag the US, as growth picks up here.. just MHO

OneHappyBoy comments on In Bogota now what?

No.. I don't think he is a lesbo.. Lesbians have more huevans than this payaso...

OneHappyBoy comments on Current American economy

Mike-the major difference between today and Iaccoca's bailout, is that the culture of Wallstreet has been to capitalize on short term profits rather than long term financial stability...It used to be that banks and insurance companies major goal was protecting its NAV... This was evidenced by quality loan portfolios and conservative actuary positions with their insured.. Today's environment is to develop financial vehicles that look good but defy sound financial management, (option ARMs etc.)... It is like they asked for mortgagees to quit paying their notes.. When i lived in Vegas, there was mortgage companies that were including 150% Loan to value so people would automatically get their equity line on their house..Any dipshit that made it through financial management 101 would know that the upside of housing was limiting, and wouldn't keep growing... One family i know, took all of their equity, as down payment, out of their house in SoCal and bought 30 houses in the Vegas area.. The bank was happy to sign that note and bypass the owner occupied convenent on the note, because the intent was to flip them in the short term, "and nobody would be harmed" That was about 18 months ago, the bank is gone, and the shareholders ate it on the houses.. I just don't think bailing out the upstream investors, in these mortgage backed securities, without retooling the company, its culture, and core business activities is smart policy.. Only with fundemental change will this stop..

OneHappyBoy comments on Current American economy

Waterdawg... what i am saying is IF the government is going to interject taxpayer money into companies, because of mismanagement, don't just give them the check, shake their hand and send them on their way.. There is something fundementally wrong in the financial markets, where derivatives, debt backed securites, and the such were used to shore up balancesheets and the company moved away from their primary focus... What I think they need to do, is nationalize them, fire the executive staff and board. tighten up the corporate charter, of these companies, to hold the execs more accountable, and refocus on their core business. Then put them BACK in the hands of shareholders. In the case of AIG, teetering on a government bailout, the only ones who will lose is the policy holders... The next one is going to be WAMU... They have sold so many high risk payment option arms, focusing on pie in the sky profits, they forgot to consider quality financial dicisions and that the customer had no way to pay them off, once the rates upset, that it is expected they will fail by next year.

OneHappyBoy comments on Current American economy

No.. AIG hasn't been bailed out yet, but this morning, according to the talking head on CNN CNBC et al, the winds are blowing in that direction, "It is just too big to let go toward bankruptcy" The previaling thought is that the effect of a bankruptcy will be far reaching into other economies... Smaller economies like Colombia, et al, will definitely be affected, by the availability of credit.. MSNBC just announced that the fed is keeping interest rates the same and are working on intejecting money into AIG.... Just nationalize these damned companies, re-write the corporate charters, ge them healthy enough to stablize.. ....get back to core businesses and get out of all of this off balance sheet financing and investing...... Yes!! Damned Bushes and the Skull and Bones!!! (gotta blame somebody, its the American way!)

OneHappyBoy comments on In Bogota now what?

Staple a Benjamin on your forehead, walk around, and pick up hookers.. That's always an exciting day!!

OneHappyBoy comments on Current American economy

I do agree, to one point. Like AIG, alot of innocent people were looking to them for insurance coverage.. I think they have to have a safety net so those folks can transition their policies, such as whole life, etc, to other, ,more stable companies.. You are right, let them tank, but if the government steps in, step in all the way, kick the old guard out, fix up the company, then put them back in the private sector, as a healthy company, less the abusive practices.

OneHappyBoy comments on Dollar continues to move up against the Peso and Breaks 2100... And the U.S. economy is reeling....

unfortunately, this mess that Bushie has allowed to happen on wall street, will affect the rest of the world... Globalization my friends...People overseas bought the hell out of these mortgage back securities... Especially Europeans, through ADRs

OneHappyBoy comments on Current American economy

I think it is bullshit, all of these bail outs.....It does nothing to correct the problem...Just shuffle around the players.. McCain says we dont need more regulation and the economy is fundementally sound,(since he has retracted that) I say, take Chavez's route, Nationalize these companies, divest some of their holdings that were founded in an empire building mentality, rather than sound business decisions, them re-privatize them.. I think it is funny that the government told the Presidents of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae No to their golden parachute, (about $24 million) Pretty much told them to fuck off and not to let the door hit them on the ass on the way out...

OneHappyBoy comments on job in bar west london

use a multiplier of 1.75(conversion rate) and the prices really stiffen up..Still a bit pricey for US gringos to go to England

OneHappyBoy comments on job in bar west london

Here! Here! Morph!!! a good bartender needs to be efficient with the words and keep the glasses full...Oh.. and stiffen up the cocktails!!!! Back when I was single, I hated to sit at the bar..inevitably, there would be a hot bartendress, looking like a million bucks, nothing a guy can do about it.Like hitting on a stripper..You become a cliche...

OneHappyBoy comments on In Bogota now what?

Cidy-- there is a bit of an odor of pura mierda in the air.....I still can't believe that some dude would travel to another country, and plan to be in a city, like Bogota, by himself, and not have a plan or know what you were going to do?? and then plant his face in front of, I assume his laptop, and ask people on an online community what to do, to while away the day.... I don't have much room to talk, since I am probably one of the most disorganized, live for the moment travelers around, but usually I have the skeleton of a strategy planned out prior to landing somewhere.. Now that Cidy is more than likely out of the picture, if there is a cidy, a new handle for you just maybe, "I AM A PAYASO" Now I will take my ambien Good night

OneHappyBoy comments on In Bogota now what?

I have been trying to just read, and take this all in... but damn!! I can't hold out!! So you went to a city with 8 million wild and crazy Colombians, and never once thought of doing a bit of google prior to boarding the bus? You posted a ways back, about this little trip, and asked for things to do in Bogota after you dumped Cidy for being a gold digging bitch? What the hell is up???

OneHappyBoy comments on job in bar west london

I am looking for a couple of bartenders also, My glass is empty and I am thirsty.... ONE MORE DIRTY MARTINI PULEEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OneHappyBoy comments on dollar has peaked for 2008

here here...Ships, tanks and planes....I read an article in the Economist that Iran's oil infrastructure is deteriorating rather quickly, and is more of a limiting factor for oil output, rather than decreasing proved reserves... Iran is, like Venesuala, a one product economy.... If nothing else, set their economy back 20 years will suffice, just take out the nuke capabilities else every radical group in the world will have a nuke

OneHappyBoy comments on A warning to those who wire money to Colombia

Barbari- There are great relationships between two people in different places....I for one, have a fantastic marriage with my Colombian wife; actually has become my best friend....BUT what is usually heard here is some rather colorful, can't "see the forest for the trees" comments.... Two people getting along isn't quite as interesting as some gringo willing to lavish cash and gifts on a Colombiana willing to part said gringo from his cash, and the creative methodology said Colombiana is willing to use....

OneHappyBoy comments on

I am thinking about emotional maturity and honoring my commitment to grow with my wife....Marriage is great if you approach it right... an opportunity to grow in ways you are unable being single, dating, or a LTR with the perogative to leave.... I can say, some of my best times single, pale to some to my days married...

OneHappyBoy comments on was my post nuked?

websites to score with the chicas y chicos are off limit subjects here, as is where to pick up hookers... definitely agree with the later; the former, well, i think it is because, since i have been a member, Jan 08, it has been a frequent and common post, and really just ends up advertising for websites. In my opinion, Peter likes to keep it about personal experiences and not a place for advertisement for dating agencies... Plus it is easy to google "single colombian women(men)" and get a laundry list of websites.. All in all, they are pretty cool about what you post on here, and give members quite a bit of lee way, that just happens to be one of the rules they are black and white about...

OneHappyBoy comments on Where's the Cats?

Kat, I am surprised by the french.. All my run ins with the french has been horrible.. I find them terribly arrogant, pretentious, and, down right rude, in addition they don't treat women, in general with much respect....

OneHappyBoy comments on

given the wages in Colombia, I''d say about $1.50..., Colombianas that can afford it, don't need it, and those who dream about it, work for peanuts.... Now lets talk about visa fraud, If in the US, 10 years in prison for this little scam.. I am sure the UK has similar penalties... In Colombia, I think they take you out back and shoot you.... something to think about

OneHappyBoy comments on Where's the Cats?

ok... explain the finer points of using mamacita and papasito. I called my wife "mi mamacita rica" and she got pissed off!!! My intention was to say, "my hot mama" She said this is derogatory and something a construction worker would day to a la chica walking by.

not too much interest on her part. too busy learning to drive, and working.. told her she couldn't sit home all day .got her working part time and into school

OneHappyBoy comments on wife of ambien?

We used to go down to a few bars at the southside seaport, and my buddy from NYC would play a game with us to see who spot ..the most hookers in the night..They would get a little pissed when you would talk them up for a bet with no intention of closing the deal, but a few would have a sense of humor... Nothing like NYC. IT should be its own country
