Hi Capitan Centella, I hope all is fine with you. We will definetely meet up for that coffee invitacion of yours. I know it will be great and my husband will have some one to talk about the things he likes eg. music, good to hear you like it too and have a collection, so has he. He has now put all his cds on his IPOD and has over 400 hundreds cds to get rid of. He wanted to try ebay but someone here sugested we tried a few shops first but I would like to do a car boot sale, a couple of years ago we did that and all his books got sold within an hour and he made over a 100 pounds. So we'll see. Thanks for your great comments you seem really nice too. Hasta pronto, Olga

Hi again, thanks very much for explaning about Industrial Design, even more interesting than I thought! You know I am a typist and I didn't know why the keybord was set up the way it is or by whom. I have learnt something new that it's relevant to what I do. It's great, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Well another great thing Capitan Centella my husband has been learning Japanesse for the last 2 years, he really loves it, I don't know why and that's the reason why he doesn't speak any Spanish yet, he decided to learn Italian first but suddently he is into Japanesse not only the language but films, cartoons, books, etc. So it's great as you two will have loads of things in commong to talk about, he is a bit busy with work and other staff but when in Colombia he will write to you which I am glad so he won't feel as isolated. It worries me he will feel like that as he doesn't speak Spanish and likes things that not many people I know in Manizales enjoy, for eg. he likes UFC games, likes rock , metal and heavy metal, has got tatoos, (something all my family and friends don't understand yet) and of course he likes Japanesse, I must confess I don't know why he likes it. I tried to watch some films and I don't understand them at all I don't really like them as the majority are horror and I am very nervous and I get scared very easy watching those type of films. Anyway so looking forward to hearing more from you and of course learning something new every day. Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on UFC in Bogota

Hi, it's me Olga1512. I just wanted to say if you do find the place please let me know as my husband is a big fan of UFC matches. I don't like it at all and don't understand why anybody likes it, my husband has got over 100 DVDs of UFC matches and to tell you the truth they all look as bad to me. Anyway I'm glad you like them as my husband was worried nobody in Colombia even knew about UFC. Good luck. Olga

HI again, well what can I say, very nice that you actually consider yourself as Colombian when you were born in Venezuela but actually lived majority of your life in Canada, what does your passport say? or have you got all 3 nacionalities? Have you got an accent when speaking Spanish? I have never been to Canada I don't really know much about it apart from "Alanis Morrisset and Avril Lavigne" not sure about their names spelling but I like their music. Where do you consider home? I have lived in the UK for almost 12 years, but Colombia is and will always be my home. I can not wait to go back, I don't think I will stay too long as my husband only wants to go for a short period but will see what happens. So how come you are back in Bogota and what do you do? are you staying now for good? I am so sorry it's like the "Spanish enquisition" I hope to hear from you soon. Bye, Olga

olga1512 comments on capitan_centella

Hello Capitan Centella, I was writting you a comment and I don't know what happened but it suddenly vanished and I ended up on brazilianhotie's profile, she probably got your message. I'll try to start again I hope I don't loose it this time. I was saying about "el chapulin colorado" that he is a hero a very silly one but a hero and so is "don quixote" and "capitan centella" of course. My husband was asking me about what capitan centella meant, so I looked on "youtube" and found the actual cartoons and opening music, it was so funny and really really silly but it also brought nice childhood memories to my heart. I have to say you are more interesting by the minute. Studying Industrial Desing? not sure what it means what I guess involves desingning machinery? please explain what it actually means it just sounds very sofisticated. You also say that you suffer from adult dislexia, I think I can understand a little bit, as I think I suffer from a mild one too (unless it's just boredom) I confuse some numbers too, and the worse thing is I work with numbers! how dangerous is that??? So keep exploting your habilities with languages I am so envious as I love languages but I have to work so hard to learn one. I have always loved English and still do. That's the reason why I studied Modern Languages at the uni, but I never learnt to speak English or French. It has taken me more than 10 years to learn English and I am still learning it. Please tell me about your experiencia as an English teacher, I would love to do that as a job when I'm back home, I work as a Finance Officer and I have got to almost hate it, it's really boring and I feel I need more challenging in my work life, my job is such a rutine that sometimes I calculate payments by heart if you know what I mean, I don't have to think or concentrate it just bores me to death. I think work is such an important part of life that I need to do something that I really enjoy. I teach Spanish at home (private lessons) and I love it! I am not able to do this as a full time job because where I live (Holland on Sea) majority of people are retired. Anyway, I will definately get in touch when in Bogota, but in the mean time please keep in touch. Regards, Olga

Hi Isis, we must meet up when you are in Pereira next year, Manizales it's only an hour away. To tell you the truth I would love to go back to Colombia and settled there, I have been missing my family so much, and when I saw my friends from the infance and from university it was great like if I have never been apart. I have got friends here and yes they are nice but some how it is not the same as my Colombian friends. My husband on the other hand only wants to go for a short stay, but I will make sure he really likes it there and decides to stay a bit longer. You wouldn't beleive it if you where here, I have already sold half of my things, for instance I haven't got a car anymore and I have to take the bus to everywhere, but I don't mind, my husband refuses to sell a thing so it does make things a bit hard for me as he won't have his books, guitars, games that he likes so I want to take them to Colombia with me, but you can not imagine how expensive it will be, as books are really heavy. Anyway we'll see how things get. In the mean I'll keep preparing my trip. How long are you going for? have you got friends or family there? You are always welcome to come and see us in Manizales. Keep me informed please. Olga

olga1512 comments on Colombiano_81

Hello Colombiano_81, I have read your profile and it's nice that your user name is Colombiano as you are actually from Venezuela. It's really interesting, how come you are in Colombia and how come you speak English? I think it's great anyway. when I was a teenager I was always amazed by Venezuela, I used to watch all the soap operas, and the Venezuelas were just so beautiful and of course they always showed lovely places on those telenovelas. Is Colombian life very different to Venezuelan? Sorry about all the questions you seem very interesting. Looking forward to hearing from you. Take care, Olga

Hola Capitan Centella, sorry I was away I am back now so thanks for asking. You have a new logo, I prefer the other one it was sweet and funny. What have you been up to lately? I am really sorry but I am new to this website and I am not sure where to reply to your comments, on my profile which is where you left the message or on yours so you know you have a message. Oh well I've just done it here anyway. Have you ever lived in England or USA, how come you speak English? that's great really specially because my husband's Spanish is not so good yet. Not sure if I have told you we are going to Colombia and will have to go to Bogota to apply for my husbands visa, perhaps we could meet up for a nice Colombian coffee some where nice. We won't be going until January next year, unless you have any plans of coming to see us, you are most than welcome to stay. Let me know please. Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on brazilianhottie

Hi Isis, sorry I haven't been in touch. I'm glad you sent me your message again, as I don't know why but I didn't get it. I will be going to Manizales probably January next year with my husband. I would love to stay for at least a year or two, but it all depends if my husband likes it there. So at the moment we are planing on going only for 6 months. I am selling all my things as we will rent our place to the council and they have told us that because of health and safety reasons we are not allowed to live furniture that hasn't got a "fire proof certificate". How long are you going to stay in Colombia and what part? If you want to go to Manizales do please let me know you must go to the Hotel Termales El otoño. If you are still there in January we could meet up and you can stay with us if you want. Please do let me know. Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on la campiña

Sorry La Campiña I pressed enter by mistake. Anyway did you ever heard about them? they were not famous at all, but if you are into gigs at Camden Town you might have heard of them. That's if you like rock and metal. How come you live in Colombian now? You might be able to help us with a few queries that we have, I am Colombian but haven't lived there for too long and I don't really know how or where to go to do a few task about moving back to Colombia. Anyway I hope you are OK I'll keep reading your comments. I haven't for a while but I'm back now. Take care and thanks again. Olga

Hello, thanks very much for the info about the Colombian place in Holloway, I do actually know where it is, I used to go there for sanchocho and empanadas, very nice. I will go to London begining of October so I will go there. Please tell us the joke about the A to Z. Do you play in a band? I'm saying because of your picture. My husband used to play in a band called "INIMENTER"

olga1512 comments on Cerealkiller

Hello again Cerealkiller, thanks for your message. Well we have a few things in common, both Colombians both lived in Camden and Essex. Essex Uni is great, Colchester is too. We will have to go to London to do the visa paperwork for my husband, so we could meet up. Also you are welcome to come and stay here in Holland on Sea, if so, you should do it soon as the weather is still good but it won't be after October time, unless you like the wind and cold. For sure when you go to Manizales, please do come and visit, also it will be great for my husband to have someone else English there. I would really appreciate if he could email my husband and let him know about Colombia, as I know he is a bit scared but excited at the same time. Well do let me know if you plan to come and I will let you know when I am in London. Take care, Olga Ps. I am a bit intriged how come you visited Colombia as it is an unusal place to go for a holiday. I am glad you did though!

olga1512 comments on capitan_centella

Hi Capitan Centella, thanks again for your message. I promise you I will get in touch with you when in Bogota. I have only been there once too many years ago. I went again a few months ago when in Colombia and it looked so much beautiful. My husband is a bit wary of Bogota but only because they have told him at the British Embassy to avoid going there. I was wondering how come you know English so well, which is good as my husband doesn't speak any Spanish. Thanks for adding me as your friend I will do the same with you as I would like to keep in touch. I will send you some pictures of us and around here where we live it is really beautiful. Take care and thanks again. Olga

olga1512 comments on HEY GUYS..HELP HERE PLEASE..HOW OR WHAT CAN YOU DO TO START A CREDIT REPORT?

Hi, I was reading your coment as I am in the same situation, could not get credit in Colombia as I don't have a history I have lived in the uk fat too long. Any way I was also reading the comments posted to you and thought they were really funny but at the same time practical. Have you actually looked at car prices in Colombia? They are mad, Here in the UK cars are so cheap compare to Colombian one. I could not beleive it. I am moving to Colombia for 6 months and I will not be buying a car that's for sure it really is not worth it. Taxis are really cheap now, even cheaper than public transport, bus, etc. if it's more than one that travel. So yes I will join everybody else with their advice and tell you pay taxi. Good Luck Olga

olga1512 comments on Authenticating a diploma/transcript from the USA

HI, I am Colombian but live in the UK, I am married to and English guy and both of us are going to Colombian next January for 6 months to teach English. Originally I was told we had to get a visa an working visa for my husband and have his university degree authenticated and translated into Spanish by a registred translator, all this had to be done in Bogota. When I came back to the UK I went to the Colombian embassy here and they told me different. My husband does not need a working visa as he is married to me, he will be allowed to work for 2 years and after that he will need to apply for a visa (he will get it, will just need to apply for it) we do not have to translate the documents or degrees, they will be authenticated here in the embassy providing we bring original copies. They are free and the only thing I need to do is to register my marriage in the embassy. My husband has got a degree in Accountancy but not in Modern Languages, so he is studying TEFL, and this will give him a diploma to be able to teach English worldwide. If you are Colombian you shouldn't have a problem, as I don't but I suggest you visit the Colombian embassy where you are. Goodl luck Olga

olga1512 comments on ¿Cuantas Cuotas?

Hi, Well I just came back from Colombia and when paying with my credit card, they asked me the same: Cuantas cuotas? I did not know what that meant I always said 1. But here in the UK I don't think that matters as we always pay the minimun amount unless we want to pay more.

olga1512 comments on Autenticar O Notarizar?

Hello Lily, I am glad you are confused and that's you living there in Colombia. I am Colombian and live in the UK, I will be going to Manizales next January for 6 months and would like to send my menaje to there. I was told in the Colombian embasy here that the Dian could give me info about free duty taxes for menaje and what items I am allow to take. Well have tried to phone the Dian in Bogota with no answer, I have sent emails and all I have received is we are dealing with you query but no answer in one month. I don't know what to do either, so if you find out please do let me know I will apreciate it. I read from your records that you would like to go to California, well I went to San Francisco and loved it, so much that I would love to live there. You must go, there are so many things to do that what you need is time. Good luck, Olga

olga1512 comments on Moving to Colombia? &c.

Hi, I am a Colombian married to an English guy and live in the UK. I just came back from Colombian with my husband as all my friends and family referred to him as "Gringo" but that's a very loving term for him and he actually thinks is funny but in a nice way. My husband was very well treated by everybody, people were very patient and understanding with his poor Spanish, actually he doesn't speak any at all. And he was offered a job to teach English even thought he does not speak Spanish. I think you find racism every where in the world, you wouldn't beleive it but England has got a really bad record of racism, to the point of people being murdered just for being foreigners. Colombia is not like that and we are very friendly people and foreigne rs are more than welcome to come and visit and stay aswell. Perhaps you should give it a try and find out for your self. How about that? Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on miamimike

Hello miamimike, thanks for your message, I didn't think of Avianca and went on the website but they only had this service from Spain and not UK. Whant a shame I would have loved to use a Colombian company. Never mind we do not have Servientrega or Fedex here but I will be using Parcel Force, and will also enquiry on UPS. Thanks again. Olga

olga1512 comments on Cerealkiller

Hello Ceralkiller, what a name! thanks so much for your lovely message. I am glad you had never had any problems with DHL but I do know many people that have apart from me of course. I just know I will never ever use them again. I will enquire with UPS, I didn't think of that one. I read from your info that you have visited Colombia, well my English husband and I will be going to Colombian next January, I would love for you to tell us about it, as he is a little bit worried as you know the bad press we get here, but I just came back from spending 3 months there and I felt safer that I did when I used to live in Camden Town, London, now Iive in Holland on Sea, Essex and it's lovely but do miss my birth town Manizales in Colombia. If you do go back again, you are welcome to come and stay, that's if you do go back from January to July next year as we will be back in the UK by end July 08. Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on capitan_centella

Hello Capitan Centella, I love your comments and info. You are very original and certanly very interesting. Well thanks so much for your advice about suing DHL, beleive me I did considere it, I actually got advice from one, but to tell you the truth it is very expensive here. I to be honest I didn't want to hassle. I will just never ever again, use them. There are many other good companies out there. I do want to tell as many people as I can about not to use DHL. Thanks again. Olga

olga1512 comments on chewy

Hello Chewy, I am glad my message or I should say my experience helped you. I know how important certain things are for everybody, so to have them damage without any care it not acceptable. Many congratulations on your new farm and good luck with the move. My husband and I are also moving to Colombia (Manizales) next January, so I am in the process of sending some boxes there (I promise I will never use DHL ever again) I will use the Parcel Force which is the British company. I see for your records you would like to visit Cartagena, well me too, so perhaps when in Colombia we can get in touch and meet up there. Thanks again and Good Luck. Olga olga1512 at yahoo.co.uk

olga1512 comments on Colombiano_81

Thank you. That's exactly what I said but my argument was not valid for that company never mind I will never use them again. Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on juancegomez

HI, well sorry to hear that, I can imagine how you must have felt. Next time do not use them please. Use Servientrega or any other agency, no body else will charge extra or like you say hidden charges. Take care, Olga

olga1512 comments on la campiña

Hi La Campiña, thank you so much for your answer. Yes please could you give me more info about how to send my things to Colombia (Manizales). I live in Holland on Sea , Essex but it's not a problem for me to drive to London. I appreciate your help. We are actually going to Colombia next January, so I need to send many boxes from now so they arrive before we do. Many thanks again. Olga
