Nick Serrano comments on They say there's a price tag on every human being!!!

good luck Dibbs, yes "mordida" is the word for bribe. Since it seems you are new to the process of paying off people for services you need to be careful. If you try and fail, you may very well find yourself in a LOT of trouble.

You say this notaria is "self proclaimed righteous" and if is the case, you may be out of luck nomatter what. Hopefully you are not in a position where this person just simply doesn't like you.

First if it is possible, just go to a different notaria.
or
#1.Explain to your notaria that you really need this paperwork to be good and ask if there is some kind of "fine" you can pay to allow it to go through.
or...
#2.a carton of marlboros and a bottle of Johnny Walker black label with a note that says Feliz Navidad.
or...
#3.put your documents in a folder and paperclip a $100 dollar bill (USD) to the top page inside the folder and hand him/her the folder to re-inspect your documents.

I have had success with all three but depending on the situation, I think #1 or #3 are the best.

From what you've told us, I would suggest #3. It takes some balls but, there will be no mistake about what you are trying to do and it will either work or won't.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Nick Serrano comments on HELP...Girlfriend from Colombia does'nt want to go back!

Don't marry her Someone has to say it...so let me be the first one. Don't marry her. I know that she is very special and things are good between the two of you now but the situation you are in with the time ticking away really distorts your relationship. What you will see in the next 30 days is not a true representation of your future relationship with this girl. Do whatever you want, laugh, love, enjoy it for what it is. But...DO NOT MARRY HER. I am speaking from experience.
Merry Christmas, that is my gift to you.

Nick Serrano comments on I WAS WRONG

Time to move on Your day to be sad about her is finished...time to move on. Of course you won't meet anyone like her because your mind will play tricks on you and only remember the good things and none of the bad things. Then your mind will imagine how good things would have been (even though you can't be sure about that, it might have ended much worse). So...give it up and move on. There are a lot of girls out there and time is wasting while you sit there and cry. Colombia has the most beautiful and best girls in the world. The best way to get over this thing is to go out and get yourself one, two or three of them. I know you love your ex-girl but...everyday when I drive down the street in Colombia, I fall in love several times.

Nick Serrano comments on I WAS WRONG

Claro Billyb, the "him" that he pleaded with was God. So...clearly this is a story about a man who lost his lady.

Nick Serrano comments on I WAS WRONG

Well... Well Perth, once something is broken, it can never be the same again as it was. The problem will always be there. So...take one day and only ONE day to be sad about it and then dust yourself off and get back out there. Treat yourself to a couple of fast and shallow relationships to clear your mind and get you back on track and then you will be ready to get back in the game of something serious again. Consider yourself fortunate for the lesson. Hopefully you learned something but if you are like most people, you learned the wrong lesson from this and it will happen again down the road. But either way, I'll have a beer for you. Cheers!

Nick Serrano comments on Panama

Panama City is very nice and everything that you could possibly want is available there. Of course it is not really cheap but less expensive than you would pay in the USA...maybe half the price.

The nightlife is very good also and in my opinion there is plenty to do as long as you stay in Panama City. There are many many beautiful girls there but I would have to agree with the comment that when you talk to the beautiful girls, you will find that most of them are from Colombia, so if that is a high priority on your list, you should just go to the source.

But once again, in the city it is safe and you have access to any of the luxuries that you may be used to having in the States. Plus you will find many of the young people in the city speak English very well so it is easy to get around if your Spanish is limited. Although wherever you choose to go, it would be in your best interest to learn the language, it will make a HUGE difference.

Good luck

Nick Serrano comments on Inquiring Minds Want to Know: The Real Deal with Colombians GFs./Fiancees

Claro I think that I may be able to shed some light on this subject for a few people. I am a North American in Nicaragua instead of Colombia but the same rules apply...

When I was growing up I didn't have much money, I had less money than all of my friends and... since they were my friends and they wanted to go places and enjoy life, they also wanted me to enjoy myself too. So I was able to live well for a good length of time off of the generosity of my friends. I was a little ashamed that I couldn't pay my own way but I was thankful that others did that for me.

Now I am 31 years old and make more money than all of my friends and family. And it feels good to me when I take my friends out. I have no problem paying the bill and I am often insulted if someone tries to stop me from paying.

As for the money to the girlfriend, My girl comes from a large family with 9 children, she is the oldest and yes she does have a job and she has never asked for money except when one of the family members has to go to the hospital or some kind of family emergency.

Her father and I are great friends and I love her whole family. They are some of the most generous people that I have ever met and they don't ask for money but I...
like to make sure that they get to do things that I would like to do if I were in their shoes such as go to concerts, movies, some new clothes. Things like that. And the cost to me is really so little...it does not affect my lifestyle one bit.

I am not trying to buy thier love, I am just repaying what was done for me in my younger days and also while I am enjoying life, why not have some companions along?

what is it? What is Avena? I have no idea what it is either but if you explain, maybe I can have a good laugh at your expense.
