nickreid comments on Can Colombians leave Colombia? Sorry, it was not clear my question is in regards to difficulty in obtaining a visa to some of these countries you do need a visa for. For example to Mexico. Is it an ordeal for a colombian citizen to obtain a visa? Is there high chance of denail? or is it easy and quick?

nickreid comments on leaving on 61st day - need to extend my visa? Mellow. Went to airline counter, they sent me to impuestos counter (among the ticketing agents on the opposite side of the checkin). I gave them my passport, they gave it a stamp, no fee (maybe b/c it was only one day, who knows) and that was it. took a whole 2 minutes.

nickreid comments on bike shop in bogota i checked out the bike shops on cll13. they do have shimano components and trek bikes available. most of what they seem to have is really cheap stuff. ie, horrible weld job on the slightly heavy aluminum frame (don't recognize the mfr), bottom tube shifters, $5 maxis tires, etc. and you can get a simple road bike like that for about 700,000 or $350US. you can also buy an all carbon top of the line 18lb trek for 6,000,000. I dont know anything about MTB's but they had a lot more of those than they did road. i imagine they are a little less.

nickreid comments on Where to buy tequila in Bogota? I had the tacos de pastor and it was up to par with the dirty little taco stands i've come to love in the states (and sometimes the mainland too) Centenario plata is a good one. my favorites are Don Fulano plata, Reserva del Senor reposado and Don Fernando anejo. If i could find Don Fernando i'd be real happy. but i will prob just end up drinking aguardiente.

nickreid comments on Where to buy tequila in Bogota? Maybe ill ask the owner of Museo del Tequila, but I have to say when I ate there I was hoping for a little better of selection. I was very impressed with the al pastor.
