Having a hard time learning Spanish. Need formal training. Any good suggestions for schools in Bucaramanga? Not here all the time. Travel quite a bit back and forth to The States.
I am living in Bucaramanga with my new bride. I bought a nice "finca" and am able to pay the owner via electronic payment since he has a bank in Miami. However, we will be building our house on this land and I will need o pay the builder in Pesos. What is the best way to LINK my bank account in the US with a bank account in Colombia. P.S. I don't have my cedula yet, nor do I have a resident visa. I still travel a lot to the states, so the 6 month limit on my passport is not an issue. T ...
I am about to move to Colombia and conduct my business from there. I have read some posts on Skype and Vonage, and have been to the Skype site but getting information from the source is kinda like beleiving what your goverment tells you. Are there any gringos living in Colombia with cheap reliable phone service to and from the states including fax service. Opinions welcome, but experience with actual phone service would be much prefered. We have DSL in the house in Colombia. Thanks in a ...

I have posted several times, but now that I have proposed marriage, and will very very likely be moving to Bucaramanga, I am hoping to post more. P.S My Spanish is sub par to say the least, but I am certain it is about to ramp up quickly!! ...
Any opinions on hiring a lawyer to help with a K1 Fiance visa as opposed to doing it myself.
P.S. I travel a lot and am not good with legal paperwork.
Thanks for your input ...
I have read many posts, but can't seem to find one that helps me. Any advice would be great.
I am a 43 year old male. I have been flying back and forth to Bucaramanga for 2-1/2 years to see my girlfriend (36). She has a 10- year old daughter. The father still lives in town. They were never married. They share custody.
I am about to go forward with a Fiancee visa for her, which amounts to a proposal of marriage. If we can't convince the father to let her daughter l ...
I have been traveling back and forth to Bucaramanga for over one year now to spend precious time with my girlfriend. She has a 9 year old daughter. The father of the girl does not appear to have any desire to let the daughter go out of the country. Which means that if I want to marry my girlfriend, I might have to move to Bucaramanga.
Has anyone done this? What is the process? Do I need dual citizenship? What about buying property and starting any kind of business in Colomb ...

No job, no house, etc. My understanding is that she has little chance of getting a visa without these things. I very much want her to come up to the States sometime this year.
(I am 41 and not easily fooled by a girl simply looking to meet a rich gringo (of which I am not) so, please no snide remarks about green-card sch ...
