myheartisinbogota comments on juli

Juli, I have a fiancee in Bogota. She lives in a poor area of town and does not have much. We have been dating for more than a year. I would like to marry her but am concerned about the age gap. I am 44 turning 45 and she is 31 last month. She said that the age gap is not an issue, I am concerned. Is this generally acceptable in Colombia? Appreciate your advice, you give thoughful responses in the posts. Thanks, Mike

myheartisinbogota comments on A Viagra pill is sold every two minutes in Colombia

It's a personal choice. Lots of guys don't need it, but it is an enhancer. No doubt! Personally, if you want to give mama a really good pounding, give it a try! (Ladies, sorry for the language). It's not a everyday thing, but if you really want to please your gal until she tells you to stop, it works. It's about focusing on the gals! AFTERALL Right guys! Right! As far as the whole falling off and whole black blood thing..... It's more dangerous to cross the street in Bogota or eat meat from a roadside stand. I"ll take a two day hard-on before stomach sickness any day! LOL, Just having fun! Hey it's humor!!!!!

myheartisinbogota comments on Xoom Money Transfers

It seems like my debit card charges 2.50 and 1.50 for ATM transactions in Bogota. They only let you withdrawl about 300k pesos. Western Union isn't much more expensive and you can send dollars so they do not ding you on the exchange rate. Any thoughts out there on a more cost effective way?

I am travelling to Ecuador (Guyaquil) in a few weeks. First time and I am excited. My spanish is at a 4 year old level but my fiancee is meeting me from Bogota. Do you have any recommendations on things to do, places to eat? Are thier any decent beaches that are not too expensive to travel to? Any general advice would be really nice. Thanks, Mike from California chicagomikeo at gmail.com

myheartisinbogota comments on where do they send visa applications

Ditto (vicshere, rikito, gator, panthdave) Thankyou for taking the time to help folks with your knowledge. It's very nice of you. I am not sure if it is better to post a new question. Does anyone have some advice for the following. I hope to be married to a woman in Bogota early next year! The wait is killing me! After that happens, I may want to purchase some property in Colombia, open up a bank account. Does it help to get a resident card or some of the papers mentioned in this thread? What advice can you give for dealing with challenges in Colombia. Is it difficult for americans to purchase property in Colombia. It seems getting a bank account is a problem. My fiancee had a hard tiem opening up an account becuase she is only a student and does not work. Appreciate any feedback the group can offer. Many Thanks, MO

myheartisinbogota comments on Interview Questions and a Visa (finally!)

My K1 (fiancee visa?) is being appproved at the National Visa Center now. They gave me an estimate of 6 monthes or more. Then I understand it gets forwarded to the US Colombian Embassy. Does anyone know how long that process is? Moving at a snails pace....... :(

Nathalie, Thank you so much for your advice. It is terrible how much they charge people in Latin America. It was a real eye opener for me. I just tried to mail two boxes of Christmas Gifts to Colombia. UPS wanted 640.00. I decided to buy a plane ticket and bring them down myself. I also never realized how hard it was for people to get travel visas. I started to date a girl from Colombia. She does not have employment in Colombia and lives with her mother. She was working in Panama. We will be trying for a visitor visa. I heard it is very hard to get approved. Thank you so much for your advice. I live in California and my name is Michael. My email is chicagomikeo at gmail.com I may ask your opinion in the future if you do not mind. Thank you again for your help. So nice of you to take the time out of your day to send such a nice letter.

Thank you for your advice, it was most helpful. Is skype different than using AOL and chatting with a web cam? Thanks for your help!
