MrBird comments on Is there a Shooting Range in bogota/chia? Best Tejo in bogota?

got no love on that post up--so...I eventually found this link to the clubs in and around Bogota: http://www.fedetiro.com/bogota.htm After calling a few of the places, this is the only one that seems like it is ever open: CLUB DEPORTIVO DE TIRO Y CAZA COLOMBO ITALIANO Direccion: Calle 8 # 18-85 sur (this is an old address apparently) Telefono: 280 12 73 - 246 61 73 Fax: 328 34 79 Presidente: Ramon Enrique Rey Also--how Ironic that Bogota's: The Gun Club...is actually nothing more than an elitists dining club...and has nothing to do with guns. Machismo anyone? Best Tejo hotspot anyone? Mr. Bird

MrBird comments on Spirit Air Offering Flights to Colombia

Any ideas on how to track Spirit's application "to get its Colombian License" to fly into Colombia? I'd like to try and gauge when and where they'll be offering flights.

Reason being, I have a friend wants to come down in Februrary 2008, originating in Houston and arriving Bogota. Looking for something cheaper than the $550 we've found. Any other ideas to cut that cost down appreciated!

MrBird comments on underwriter

How did you get the info on spirit air trying to get its license to fly to Colombia? I ask as I'd like to follow that source and know when spirit might begin offering flights. I have a friend who wants to come down in february 2008 and needs a ticket more in the $350 range, not the present $550 range.

MrBird comments on Bogota - hostels and places to stay Travel Guide

Extended Stay Bogota Chapinero For Community Minded Individ. Got a great house in Chapinero Alto, I'm looking to rent rooms to some great people looking for longer stays of 2 months or more for all the right reasons; individuals working for NGO's or along those lines, folks that enjoy community, enjoy bi-lingual and a multi cultural atmosphere, cooking, hanging out and bbq's, intelligent conversation, sport pick-up games and just going out.

Contact at: grant (dot) canary (at) gmail (dot) com

The House:

-6 furnished bedrooms (bed and desk) 4 baths.
-Huge rooftop terrace for thinking, sunbathing, reading, and barbque/fire lounge with a great city view; (see photos via picasa link below!)
-Cable Internet & Wireless
-Cable TV
-Large Common Room and 8 player poker table
-Of course a full kitchen
-Extremely quiet neighborhood with 24 hr security
-1 block from park with basketball/microfootball court and pickup games.

Rent:
Rent depends upon duration of stay and size of room chosen. Some rooms have private baths for example. You can expect about 450-600 mil per month or roughly $USD 225-300 per month--right in the market with local housing prices. Far more affordable than bogotacolombialodging.com or welovebogota.

More details on the neighborhood can be found at the end of this PBH post:
