Colombia is NOT the states... and if the girl has "on and off" jobs as you say, then her personal income of those jobs will be between 400,000 and 500,000 if not less (yes people work for less). So if you want to help her, help her to HER standard. So that would be MAX 200,000 a month.. MAXIMUM!!!! If you want to send her like 500,000 - 1,000,000 COP be my guest, you just gave your lady a real nice life, she won't have to work, will live a nice standard and no financial worries.. just like.. PARADISE.. a nice and free life..

COLOMBIAN TELEVISION: Lots of novelas, more novelas, did I say novelas? COLOMBIAN HOSPITALS: Efficient, fast and not expensive. COLOMBIAN CRIME/TERRORISM: crime rules the street, and it gets covered widely on tv COLOMBIA JOBS: hard to find, but if you got a nice one, hold on to it COLOMBIA BEST CITY, WHY?: Cali, because I just love it so much..! COLOMBIAN FOODS: Unbalanced and too fat. Too much fried stuff. COLOMBIAN CULTURE: Warm, friendly, but you always have to be very pendiente and careful about papaya. A big plus for the nature, the climate and the openness of the people. COLOMBIA NEEDS: a better security, and people need to realize that THEY are responsible for their own future.. and not blame the government for not regalandolos everything, even in Europe people need to work on creating opportunities and chances... COLOMBIAN SCHOOLS ALL AGES: Good quality, but generally expensive. COLOMBIAN POLITICAL SYSTEM: Hmmm COLOMBIAN ARMY: Strong and good! COLOMBIAN DRUG WARS: Should be more intense, but it is hard bc of the bush. COLOMBIA MEDIA: don´t like the girls that present the shows, they are all the same. COLOMBIAN CELLULAR SERVICE: expensive, but good quality. COLOMBIAN INTERNET SERVICE: if it works, its ok. Funny thing is that the neighbors below is have a similar sounding washing machine and do laundry at similar times, so they are competing, sometimes. LOL!

You can also get a credito and pay a monthly quota (something typical Colombian - every product has payment plants on the tag) and still buy a washing machine. We bought a 22 or 25 pound (cant remember exactly) washing machine from LG. I am very happy w/ it. We did NOT buy it with credito because than you pay easily 20% more.

People do just about anything to get money, from selling chewing gum in the street, stealing money, begging with a (hired) baby on the arm (beware: those beggars that carry small children generally DON´T carry their own children..and NEVER give them money), renting out washing machines (some people cant afford to buy one, but can afford to rent one for a while), selling juices and cut up fruits.. just about anything you can imagine!!!!

They are not a good solution and can make you resistant to them, so when a time might come that you really need them they won´t work.. Aiii I know Colombians see gripa as a major illnes.. just relax... drink LOTS LOTS LOTS of fluid (not sugary - prefarably water) with lemon. Rest. Sleep. Relax. If it takes longer than a week (being really strong after a week, not getting better) go see a doctor ASAP.

Besides that you need a visa, valid high school degree (legalized by the ministry of education in bogota) and some papers about your economical situation.....
