UNfurnished 2/3 in a great bldg across the street from oviedo and sheraton with great amenities... Bldg is new and everyone seemed really nice... 2 nice grocery stores within a block... Nice size balcony and a nice view for under $600.month without utilities.... Edificio Murano...

mcheasley comments on APARTA-HOTELS IN MEDELLIN Andrew and Max are first rate.. I have rented many times from them in the past.. As recently as last month.... These guys are for real and run an excellent operation... There rates for what you get are more than fair... There are numerous people on the net that have apartment rental businesses in Medellin and i have seen their apartments, (the same or more money and not nearly as nice)... The reason Andrew needs a deposit up front is because he gets booked up really fast... As of this month i no longer need their services since i now have a house, but i reccomend them to anyone visiting Medellin...

mcheasley comments on Colombia Airport Fee's In October when departing MDE, as usual i went to the tax window and they pointed to a sign on the wall saying an increase in taxes as of Nov 1, 08.. They made sure to point this out to everyone ... Then they stamped and i departed.... AA has always included the departure fee in my ticket price....

Appliances, tv's, and so on.... The exchange rate made it an easy decision to not ship...

mcheasley comments on Things in Colombia that should be CHEAP that are really EXPENSIVE Or Visa Versa When shopping last week in Medellin for everything for the new house I was surprised that the cost of 32-42 in Tv's with the current exchange rate were almost equal to the states... Appliances for the kitchen were also equivalent with the good exchange rate... So much for shipping from NC.... We found the quality of alot of furniture (not all) to be quite uncomfortable and poor quality.... As far as groceries go, a decent selection of U.S. products at Carulla (though a little higher price)... I took my list of items to Home Center to compare as far as tools, pressure washer and so on.. I will be shipping these items south... As far as rents go for apartments and casas, very good prices can be found in nice areas...

mcheasley comments on Looking to rent a apartment in Medellin MANYC, there are lots of rooms for rent in Medellin for short term... If you decide to stay for a while there is an abundance of casas and apartments for rent here and very reasonable... We just spent 10 days looking and decided yesterday on a house for 6 months since we are going to build... Amazed at the selection at this time... It was hard to decide.. Good Luck!!!

I finally found a phone # for them and they said the car was in the shop.. they would call me the next day.. Never heard from them... I found a service that is excellent to pick me up at MDE yesterday and will be using them while i am here for 2 weeks... We usually do the taxi route, but house hunting this time...

It couldnt be on the road fron 5-7 or 8 or something like that.... Its been taxis and the metro ever since....
