Marxllw comments on Melbourne to Bogota...Aussie help?

Get the cheapest flight to miami, houston or atlanta then a cheap ticket to Colombia from there. From brisbane i got to miami for $1500 inc taxes and US450 to bogota return. This is over the XMas period too.

Marxllw comments on Where can I see a list of Live Concerts occuring in Colombia

Thank you juanalejo I do enjoy Classical music but whilst in Colombia I would prefer something more Colombian.

Marxllw comments on Colombians studying in Australia

Perspective on life Studying abroad is not only about what and how you are taught. It's more about the experience. Most young Colombian (generalisation) are still holding on to their mothers apron strings when they come to Australia. Even though they may be 25 years of age. What they gain, though hard work, self inspection and tough time, is self actualisation. They become themselves. At 20 most aussie kids have left home, have their own jobs and maiking for themselves. University is not about gaining a life vocation (although it seems like it now). It's about getting educated in life, seeing new perspective, learning to think differently and taking of those rose coloured lens that we are all born with and seeing the world for what it really is.

Australians and Colombians think differently. Believe me, I am a Colombian born Australian, married to a Colombian women (who means the world to me). We have many conflicts over cultural issues. But we are learning to take the best from both cultures. Colombian culture is warm (hot), magic and motivational, whilst the australian culture is efficient, untied and care free.

Marxllw comments on Colombians living abroad

It's not as bad as people make out In the past 2 years i've been to colombia twice. And like many of you i was afraid. The first time i was ashamed of the way i behaved infront of my wife and her family. I also could have had a better time if i wasn't so scared. The second time i return (feb-apr 2004) i had a fantastic time. Sure i was street wise but i relaxed more. I am a Colombia who has spent the 31 of 32 years living in Australia hopefully my wife and i will return to colombia to live.

I have a pure breed aussie friend living in bogota. His spanish is not the best but he catchs buses, teaches english and is having a ball there. Him and his colombian girlfriend are expecting a baby soon.

One day, hopefully in the not to distant future, Colombia will become a tourist mecca and with that it will become my home. Life is safer in Australia but there is less living. If you get an opportunity to check out the statistics of depression, suicide and mental illness between colombia and most 1st world countries, you might see an interesting trend.

Marxllw comments on who's who

A mixed up Colombian-Australian 32 years old, Born in Bogota to Colombian parents. Lived most of my life in Australia. My early years in Melbourne and then later on the Gold Coast. I met my Colombian wife, 2 years ago, while she was completing a Masters in Marketing here in OZ. Since we've been married i've been back to Colombia twice. Every time my heart grows fonder for Colombia. Hopefully one day we will return and give living a go there. My blood is Colombian. I have an pure Aussie friend living in Bogota. My wife and I introduced him to one of her friends and they fell for each other. Now they are expecting a child.

On my last trip I met another Aussie making a trip to Colombia. The only spanish he knew was uno, dos, tres, .... diez. I bet one day colombia will become the new back packers primo destination.

Marxllw comments on Colombians to be fingerprinted upon entry to US

Patents and Intelectual Property The western world, lead by the US, have raped and pillaged the 3rd world for the past century. I guess the 3rd world has an opportunity to get one back.

It's nature balancing the accounts.
