how long is the tourist visa?

I thought that a tourist could stay up to 90 days in Colombia per year (that's what they told me at the border with Ecuador, and at DAS in Bogotá, although that was about a year ago)... but I see some posts talking about being able to stay up to 180 days. What's the answer? (for a US citizen) Thanks! ...

Hello... Someone told me about a valley of Frailejones located at or near the source of the Sumapaz river, not too far from Bogotá.
