marce comments on Colombian Chicas - Someone please explain!

why not? Why older men can't truly date beautiful Colombian women? ...I'm just curious.
Personally (I am a colombiana) I love foreigners(read it as the white blond type that we don't have much here) and I don't agree with the discouraging posts saying that gringos don't have a chance to find a good girl. That is not true. Male and female foreigners have their chance. As in any other country there are good and bad men and women, that's all. I work at a bilingual school in Cali and I see many happy couples (Colombian-canadian, or English or Scottish). They even stayed in Colombia for their wives and husbands.
I guess I am not answering suizo's question. I guess I don't have the answer and I don't know it all as some people here claim to.
Alright suizo, it is always nice to have people visiting Colombia and enjoying the country (that has prostitutes as any other country and prostitues for everyone, it is not only for foreigners)

marce comments on ¿Por que nos enorgullecemos de tanta pendejada?

pues me parece bien Hola,

marce comments on Que opinan?

marce comments on sick and tired of hearing bad thing of our beloved Colombi

Desideria, where were you born? and where do you live ? Let's add some feedback. I am a 23 caleña girl living in France right now. I work as a kind of spanish teacher, cause I am not a real teacher, I am what they call a conversation assistant. I remember my students' faces when I said I was Colombian. They immediately thought about drugs and I dont blame them, but I was there to show them the rest of Colombia. I am doing a research project right now about Colombia and some want to work on the FARC and it is ok, but some are very interested in Colombian soccer, Colombian history and even roller skating, which is very nice. They like to compare sport results between france and Colombia and they are very concerned about the work we are doing. I also work with music in my classes and last time a class was singing 'fotografia' of Juanes. I never saw myself making french teenagers sing a Juanes' song. It was unbelivable and great!! They enjoyed it of course!!

Desi, dont get me wrong When I said it seems we are the few Colombians in this forum I didnt mean to say that we were the only ones who cared about Colombian. I can see that last sentence is ambiguous. I just meant that we are the few Colombians in this forum and that I can see that we care about Colombia (not the only ones, though)I forgot to include you too.
I agree with you with the criticism thing. I havent said we should not criticise and try to change things, but sometimes that criticism is not accompanied by action, it just stays at that level: criticism, that is what I dont like. I guess it also has to do with the way criticism is done, the way things are said and people's intentions when they criticise.

marce comments on sick and tired of hearing bad thing of our beloved Colombi

I feel the same kat I started coming to this forum (just reading it) when I knew someone (a foreigner) had created this site to talk about Colombian cause he had fallen in love with it.
I was really happy to see how people feel about Colombia. They wanted to come again and again in spite of all the bad things. But sometimes I feel there are people who participate here with the intention to discourage Colombians (we dont get discouraged easily, uds saben) and foreigners. I think we have enough with the media and we accept constructive criticism but not "mal intentioned" that is not very nice. And it is a natural reaction, just look at the post of the Americans when someone criticizes the US, they do get mad.
The nationalism thing is so relative. Some people just dont need to work on their national proud, but Colombians do. We have felt as the "undesired" when we travel so what would it be bad seen that we work on our national self-steem. I dont see any bad on that.

Juanalejo, colombianox and kat, I enjoy your posts. It seems we are the few who are Colombians and really care about it.

marce comments on Shocking article

it was shocking for me I might have probably become more concerned and sensitive about Colombia now I am away. In France I try to show the good side of Colombia to my young students and it is always difficult. I never deny our problems but I also show them the good side, they'll probably never know by themselves so I guess when I read those pesimistic articles that declare Colombia is a "caso perdido" and specially when those articles are written by Colombians, I question myself. I feel as if I were against everything, against everyone. En español....nadando contra la corriente. It is not easy to be Colombian, in or outside Colombia. I feel there is so difficult for them (my French students)to have just an idea of what a real colombian is. NOw with me, some have a closer idea. I give free salsa lessons and they can see I am happy being a Colombian.
Anyways, I feel like I am working for Colombia from outside and I really want to help to change the situation in Colombia once I get back there. It will not be easy but I am going to take that risk.

marce comments on men idolising colombian women

used to work in a marriage agency Hi all, I used to work in a marriage agency as a translator and saw many things. I think the old gringos and the girls who marry them know what's going on. They do like a exchange. I am sure both know there is no love.... But you can't generalize. Couples in love also married. So I think that you can find all kind of people.
Crazy4cali, I like your nickname. I am from Cali, maybe that's why I like it...

marce comments on Why are Colombian men so Attractive?

Now that I am in France Hello everybody!
Now that I am in france (for about 2 months)I can say i like the male very male appearence of our Colombian men. Here in France there are a lot of "afeminados" men, although of course there are a lot of hot guys. However...most of them smoke, which I don't like. So I do miss looking around and finding really male men...and also fun guys.
My male friends are really really fun and funny which is very important in relationships!!! and of course I really miss Colombia and want to go back for Christmas, but the trip is too expensive..so I'll go to England with an English friend!! Good luck to everyone.
By the way, I am from Cali and I am in France as a Spanish assistant and I have given to my students the caliescali link so they can see how caleñas are...

Eres (R's)! Hi...
I am a languages student and I used to have the same problem but with the French "R" . It was in my first semester at the University and I felt so frustrated! All of my classmates were able to do it at the end of the semester, but not me... Finally after some weeks at the end of the semester, it just came very smoothly... It was just a matter of exposition. You need to listen to native speakers very often and be exposed to the language so you can reproduce what you hear...

Try to listen to spanish (latin spanish) channels and listen to songs...that is really helpful!! You can do it...maybe it takes a semester too!! just try to be patient...

Good luck!

marce comments on Is it worth it?

A Pasto Carnival FAN!!!!!!!!! You have to definetely go to the "Black and White Carnival" in Pasto. Frank is absolutely right. They are wonderful!!! You can see a lot of parades with beatiful work of the artisans...there are even contests on their work. I am from Cali (from family from Pasto too) and I really enjoy the Pasto carnival more than the Cali Feria. The carnival is more popular. The Feria is kind of elitist. You have to have money to enjoy it. In the carnival all you need is cheap black painting to paint someone else's face and some powder to throw to people the day of the white people...it is very funny and there are orchestras for free to dance all over the city. I really enjoy them and I always miss them when they finish. Why don't you try them?
Good luck

Transit visa Hi, has any colombian tried to get a transit visa? or does anyone here know an experience of one?
I am thinking about the possibility of asking for a transit visa to go to France. It would be cheaper for me, since I have a friend who is an american pilot and can help me get cheaper tickets to go to France, but before I have to stop in the US...any comments?
Thanks for your help...

marce comments on Spanish classes in Cali

Hi...I am interested! Hello Mike,

I am going to get my degree on languages late this year. But I am not in my late 20's. I am 23. However, I love teaching Spanish as a second language and actually, I am going to France as a spanish assistant in high school. I also work as an English teachers for teenagers at a language school in the mornings. So I have experience teaching. I also speak French and teach it too.

marce comments on colombian women and relatioships

Still in amigos? Hi,
It is pretty hard to guess why she hasn't quit amigos, but if she is there only to meet friends. Then that would be a reason. But if what she was looking for, was you...then she should be off. Why did she write in her profile?
Anyways, I think she should be out. It is not very nice to see your boyfriend's or girlfriend's photo on the internet to meet people...especially from the opposite gender.
Did you ever ask her why she's still there? I think you should...and then you stop guessing...
I'm colombian and I think it is not right.
Good luck!

marce comments on Tourist Visa for Germany

time of the invitation Th Verpf...that thing does not last to be expeded. They give it to you the same day you ask for it. But it is valid only for three months so you have to make it in October. They tell you to show all your papers at least 5 weeks before the trip...remember to show the strong ties to Colombia as Gator said. Good luck!

marce comments on Tourist Visa for Germany

ask for a visitor visa Hello,

All you have to do is send her the Einladung (invitation) and a "Verpflichtungserklärung" you ask for at the "foreign office" in Germany. Make sure it lasts for three months so you ask for it at the right time.

She has to show that she is coming back to Colombia. She can show she has a good job. She can also show a paid receipt of her next semester at the University, a recommendation letter of a German personality...all that can prove she is interested in coming back to Colombia.

I got all the papers done and I got it last year!

She can get all the requirements at the embassy or consulate! Good luck!
