No doubt about it. Correa played this very well.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7282336.stm The only country that should be cutting ties with Colombia is Ecuador. Ortega is a jackass, and Chavez even moreso. These reports of irrationality are getting increaingly angering. These new leftist Latin American leaders, especially Chavez and Ortega, need to get off their self-righteous and bigoted high horse. Correa too, but at least he has a reason to be irked, not that I condone his efforts to paint Ecuador as some poor victim of ...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7274222.stm What kind of nonsense is that??? Correa has 'links' to the FARC, Chavez is obviously devastated that FARCMAN Reyes is dead when he refers to the death of this man as " cowardly murder, all of it coldly calculated" furthermore labelling him as a "a good revolutionary"... What more blatant support of the FARC do you want? Now they have the audacity to post troops on the border and start warlike moves? It is clear that Colombia are fight ...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4306936.stm "In Latin America, "no city manages to present ideal living conditions, neither do any fall into the category where extreme difficulties are faced", the EIU said. Montevideo in Uruguay, Santiago in Chile and Buenos Aires in Argentina offer the region's best conditions. Bogota in Colombia and Caracas in Venezuela score the least favourably. " I've never liked Bogota much anyway. Give me Medellin or the coast, and I'm a happy man. Canadi ...
I know that it is very subjective, the 'best' media in Colombia, but I would like to know the opinions on what would be considered Colombia's best daily newspaper. For example, there are many newspapers in England, but I think we can say that these perhaps rise above the rest: -The Telegraph -The Times -The Guardian Or in Canada, -The National Post and to a lesser extent... -The Globe and Mail Now in Colombia... what would they be? And what's the best Antioquia based newspaper? ...
Some nice news to brighten the mood! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7186460.stm I haven't seen Colombia headline the main BBC website this much ever. This hostage release is a big deal. Or maybe nothing else is happening in the world. ...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7184485.stm This is the first time I have seen Colombia appear as headliner on the front page of the main BBC website.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7173527.stm has anyone visited?
Has anyone had experience in sending wires to Bancolombia from a North American bank? I sent a wire directly to an account in Colombia, but instead of arriving in that person's bancolombia account, it arrived as a 'giro' (I interpreted this as a bank draft). This means that the account holder would have to go and pick up the money themselves. Since that person does not live in Colombia, this is clearly impossible. The money presumably will be sent back from where it came, however my faith in ...
Is there a particular reason that a post that I have just commented on is not appearing as 'most recent comments' ? I have never encountered this problem before.
Colombia are playing Venezuela in an important futbol match: a World Cup 2010 South Africa qualifier. Colombia are technically superior to Venezuela, however thus far into the match they are not demonstrating it. They move the ball forward very well, but tend not to be swift enough in driving it into the box and terrorizing the Venezuelan defence. Come on Colombia! I know you can perform better than this! ...
Including in times square. I was walking through it, taking in the odious lights of advertising, surrounded by people and taxis and cars, when all of a sudden, i hear music that drowns out the rest of the noise, a bloody chivas bus draped in Colombian colours, blaring Colombian music (full with, assumedly, Colombians) has the audacity to drive through the square. Juxtaposition if ever I saw it. It certainly brought a smile to my face. Incidentally, hours later at 3 am, as I am driving around ...
In a friendly, 1-0, Colombia defeats Mexico. Too bad they cannot do this in major competitions at the moment.
Is this the same as Devil's Weed (Datura)? Datura was recently the subject of another discussion. If it is, I had the most absolutely mind-blowing experience with this drug. I was given it unwittingly (they disguised it as a tea), luckily though I was not taken advantage of. Crazy hallucinations and ridiculousness. My vision was messed for days afterwards, and actually my first time in Colombia was 2 days after I was given this stuff, my eyes were still fucked. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!!!! ...
Ok, I posted awhile ago about how I wanted my girlfriend to visit me in Canada. I am providing an update and looking for further advice. She lives in Medellin. She will be living in Australia in October She has just been given a 5 year class BN Visa to Australia. It's a work visa, and she almost has work lined up in Australia in the IT field. So she's going there to live and work. This has been in the process for a long time. However, now that she has such a visa, would she have to go through ...
Is this for real? I saw it on travelcuts.ca, returning september 4th. Anyone have any info on this, it would be interesting.
I was talking to someone today about visas and Colombia, and mentioned my situation. My situation is simple really, I want someone in Colombia to come and visit me for a few months. I told him about the 2% rule, whereby it is difficult for Colombians to get visitor visas for Canada, and he told me that he thought there was some contract or guarantee that I or someone in Canada could sign, guaranteeing the visiting Colombian's return to Colombia upon visa expiry. If such a thing did not happen ...
Will Colombia win?
There's already been a fairly significant upset... Mexico defeated Brazil yesterday 2-0. Peru also upset Uruguay.
GO COLOMBIA, and let's hope Argentina does well today too, how I'd like to be in Buenos Aires for that match! ...
Now that I have the low-down on why NOT to apply for a canadian tourist visa (like our country is THAT great anyway...), I'll explain to you the two new courses of action that we (myself and gf) could take to get the visa. These ideas I came up with thanks to the helpful information I have encountered on this site, thanks so much by the way.
1) She could enroll in a language school, a good one, one where you can withdraw before it starts and get a full refund minus the $100 depos ...
Having just returned, I am experiencing Colombia withdrawal. Every time I go, I discover more and more things about the wonderful country, from the luscious rolling hills to the lively and vibrant people, it makes me wish I was back there. It's such a shame that flights are so expensive.
By the way, if anyone can answer my VISA question I have in the visa section, I would greatly appreciate it. ...
I am currently working with my girlfriend in Medellin to help her get a tourist visa to visit me in Canada. I am under the understanding that this is hard work.
Here's the jist of it
a) She will be able to prove that she has a good job in Colombia
b) Really does not want to stay in Canada
c) Will have sufficient funds to travel
Anyway, I just need to make it work, please give me advice on the best possible method to get this tourist visa to can ...
I need an apartment in Medellin from give or take a couple days from june 1 to june 19 for myself and ladyfriend.
Anywhere in the city is fine.
Please reply to this topic if you know of reasonably priced apartment (amueblado) from june 1 -19 approximately.
and i'd firstly like to say that I don't expect anyone to care, nor do i particularly care to read any snide comments posted to me in this respect. I am only writing this because the moderators should take note.
The reason is that this site is no longer enjoyable for me. There are a few rude and obnoxious people on here that just detract from the site. My opinions are 99% garbage? fine. i won't waste my time here. Stick to your cyberworld Utopiacowboy, i hope you drive away enough ...
I guess recently due to work I've been staying up late enough to observe the afterhours on this site. They are quite entertaining, that's for sure, with renegade posters causing ruckus. I have to say, it adds character to the website, and can at times be quite amusing. ...

Somehow, and neither I nor la novia have any clue how, a CD of someone's vacation pictures arrived with my stuff. It doesn't have an address, nor the full names of anyone, it's just a CD with pictures from Cartagena. The titles of hte pics correspond (i assume) to the names of the people in the pictures, those names I listed above.
If you are missi ...
Jeez, this is supposed to be a forum on Colombia, reading about how much England 'sucks' is getting annoying.
