go to "la Macarena" there's very nice restaurants around that area, is by La plaza de toros or this famous buldings " torres del parque" , is on streets 26 or 27 between 7th avenue and circunvalar avenue.

chill out!!!! Hey i tryed to make clear in my post that i don't think all americans are stupid, but some of them can make questions that in my point of view are ... let's just say "weird".
Hey, is not my fault!
I've met really smart americans!! I even go to school here, i'm learning from americans!
I would seem to be as ignorant as the people that made this questions, if i think all americans are dumbs!
This only confirms that there are people that live in their own imaginary conception of their world, and don't know anything about the rest of the world and they are not interesting in knowing, they just trust in their thoughts and judgements and ask and confirm what they think is right or are convinced of!, is not my fault that when they do it, I get their comments or questions as "weirds".
and i guess some of the people are interested in knowing ,and those are probably the ones that make this questions!...
so, Dear Americans, don't take it personal, I'm very sorry if ofended any of u.
I was just trying to post something I thought was funny, I thought u were gonna laugh like i did!!
i hope u get this clear... Not everybody is interested or trying to bullshit about ur country! it would be disrespectful from me if I try to do it while i'm leaving in ur country and taking advantage of what ur country can offer to my life! instead of being around bullshitting about USA , i prefer to spent my time thinking about how wonderful is my country!!

well, my eating habits have changed cuz i don't feel as hungry as i use to feel in Colombia every time i thought about lunch!! when i used to imagine a nice "Bandeja costena", o sopa de lo ke fuera!, o " bandeja paisa" , now i have to be happy and satisfy my apettite with a freaking frozen meal!!when i wanted something "light' i could find a nice empanada o arepa, here i have to try "Mcdonalds", and be "happy" with something that taste like paper food!! so basically, i eat twice a day, breakfast and dinner!! that's it!! so since i'm here i can no longer say " barriga llena, corazon contento" cuz even if my tummy is full my heart is not happy!!!
and answering ur question GringoDe.... i live in Northern Jersey, Bergen county! is like 15 minutes away from Manhattan , i spent almost all my time in NYC.
what motivated me to live was, the future i think i deserve!!! yeah i came to the states to study!!i'm planning to go back to Colombia, and hoping this classes i've been taking here help me to find a nice and good job in the land of my dreams!!!

almost the same! well, my life has not changed that much! i mean i'm still a positive and nice person.
the only things that have changed is that now i have to work, and study both at the same time. In Colombia i was a full time student, no work at all.
I have to speak a different lenguage, and deal with people that are way too different from the people i'm use to deal with, i miss the nice people u can find all over the places in my country! i'm not saying that people here is mean or not nice , cuz yes, they are nice , but i dunno people in Colombia is like warmer!! :)

hi! i studied in los Andes for 4 years, i was majoring Industrial Design...now i'm in the states!
yeah is very common see international students taking courses at school, i dunno how much would be to take a course for a international student, but my semester was about $ 3.500 dollars , around $ 7.000 per year, and the summer courses were between $ 300 dollars and $ 600. the semesters runs from the second week from January to the middle or end of may, then vacations from may to the second week of august, and from the second week of august to the second week of december.

ok here's some good info! i'm from CARTAGENA, so trust me i know pretty good about " el Reinado nacional de Belleza" ...
well , it stars around the 7th or 8th , and ends on the 11th, the 11th is the independence day! that's the day we get a new queen!
there's around 5 events, that are importants and obviously there;s all about partying! the "Desfile en traje de bano" that is at the hilton hotel, and u'll be able to see all the candidates walking in their bathing suits around the pools, there's always an important latin singer or group performing, so prepared for a party.
then the fantasy night! that night the candidates show their customs, is a crazy outfit about their regions, and they jury have to choose the best! there's singers again that night... so more party
then the " Valleneras" or "balleneras" i don't know how do u writte that! and that day u'll see the candidates on botes , around the Cartagena harbor ...more party!!
and then the "Bando" is a really cool Carnival! u'll see people dancing in the streets and also the candidates and music, and alcohol cuz that they we celebrate the independence!! ..and again party!
and finally the night when the jury, choose the new queen!! after that more party!! so yes it's all about party!! is really cool! and i'm sure u'll have fun!

ok, guys, In Cali, girls are use to dressed that way , mostly in Colombia this kind of things happen in hot weather cities!! i'm from Cartagena! but i moved to Bogota about 6 years ago , people in Bogota dressed more conservatively because of the weather!!! so when i moved of course i had to change the way i dressed! Anyway Cartagena and Cali are hot weather cities!! and the smallest the clothes the more comfortable u'll be!! now i live in NY, and u guys there's no diference between Cali and Cartagena!! actually Cali and Cartagena's girls dressed conservatively!! this summer was really hot around here!! so just imagine!!
so i guess it depends where in this country u live.
i usually do something my mom always says " A donde fueres has lo que vieres", it means something like, do what the rest of the people where u are do!!! i guess in that way u won't hear any bad comments from individuals.

Anytime!! Well , there's a Bunch of good Universities in Bogota, i'm sure , i can help u! but it would be better if u tell me what do u wanna study, coz there's some Universities that are better than others in some careers. i guess that would make the things easier for both!
About Barranquilla i guess I can help u too, i'm from Cartagena, so i know Barranquilla pretty well!! and my sister go to College there! ... the best place in Barranquilla is " Universidad Del Norte" for me is the only place that is worth it... i think that the web page is www.uninorte.edu.co, i'm not sure , but check it out!! ok ,, i guess this is all for today!!

this may help u! i'm from Colombia , i live in the states now, i used to go to college in bogota, in "Universidad de Los Andes" this is the best university , in the country , is the most expensive so i guess it makes the place, and excellent place to study, and it is, believe me, the classes , teachers,the people, the whole place is really good.
while I was there i saw a lot of foreign students , as well as foreign teachers, and i know u can take classes in english. i'm not sure if u can take all of them english.
the cost of a semester could be between US$2.000 and 4.000 ... it depends, u better go to the web page , www.uniandes.edu.co , the web page is also in english...
i also know about " La Salle College", this is a canadian College, but it only has like art and graphic design programs... so check it out too...i can't remember the web page , but u can google it , just type " la salle colege+Colombia" , i hope this can help u!!
