Another of your patented cheapshots? Of course I was born in Colombia and unlike you I don't have to pretend, but that doesn't stop me from loving the country where I live which is the US. Take one of your cheapshots at Colombia and you will see how defensive I can get there also.

I guess you expect to pick the Colombians out of the crowd, maybe they were not the Indian type or with a ruana y carriel.
I have lived in Paris, and have my best Colombian friends living there. My brothers have children living in France and Spain, and they visit 2 to 3 times a year. Most of my family, has been in every country in Europe. My mother visit me in Paris and London. I guess we did not have the Colombian flag or campesino look.
Let`s see how many Colombians will be marching this July 20 in Europe!"
ONLY Ignorant people would assume Colombians are just "indios"...reality check.. Colombians come in all shades and sizes...Like CG said relax!

You're right, but I think that Colombians with family in Europe tend to travel there a lot more. My family and I have also been all over Europe. We have relatives all over the place there. In fact, my brother is flying in from Barcelona tomorrow. However, I do know a lot of wealthy Colombians that travel to Europe. Still, it is not as common for professional people that aren't really wealthy. Also, it's not like it's very easy to get travel visas.

I can't recall seeing them in London, Paris ect but I sure see them in Miami, Adventura Mall, Williams Island by Adventura mall, SawGrass mall near Ft Lauderdale, Key Biscayne, strolling around Bayside near downtown Miami waiting for their cruise ships to depart. I agree Miamimike, I lived in Europe and it was rare that I ran into a Colombian traveling..

I have ran into so many people that go to Colombia (from the states) barely speak English, run around showing off their broken English, show off their bags, clothes, bla bla...walk around like they own the country...it's exasperating! I know someone who's mother in law works in the Hamptons cleaning hotels 6 months out of the year- she returns to Colombia for the remainder of the year. She lives there like a queen, in the most expensive part of the city, treats everyone around her like crap. Yet she fails to realize that she cleans hotels in the states to live a fairy tale life in Colombia!

My grandma whas white of spaniard descent, but poor , unlike morphus says that white spaniards rule, I don't think so, at least not in Colombia, my grandma's family is proof o that. My grandpa is a zambo, mix of black and indian, but his features are mostly black. As a reasult of that we had very white people in my family, trigueños, morenos (like myself), amerindians (indigenous features), and blacks. I loved it, I feel very proud of that the mixes of race in my family is very unique and special, I think it's what defines Colombia, the variety of races. I want to make clear thought that no one is looked down on my family based on their skin color. And I love that they call me negrita, because of my tanned skin color and I feel very proud of the great mix of races that I have in me. I will post pics of my family soon so you all can see what I am talking about. I really like the pride that you have in your ancestry! I always tell people that is what makes Colombians and the rest of Latinos so special, we are all mixed with indian, black, white, etc.

I have met Montoya, and many Colombian soccer athletes that thanked me and my friends for standing out there and screaming our lungs off for Colombia!! That's what it's about...I go there with my big Colombian flag, Colombian everything and cheer on my fellow Colombians..sabes porque? Not for them...for OUR country..so the rest of the world sees that our fellow Colombians are not alone en el extrabjero... Talina winning this title wasn't for her..it was for COLOMBIA...for all of us!!

I liked what he said about Colombia... Q: Betancourt was held seven years. Was this is a big deal in Colombia all this time? JPM: Not in Colombia. Outside Colombia it was. I don’t know why. In France they always protested about her, but in Colombia, people talked about it but it wasn’t overwhelming. There are so many other people who have been kidnapped and are still being held. Q: Do you ever fear being kidnapped? JPM: No. Q: What about your wife, family, kids? JPM: No. Q: What makes you feel so safe? JPM: Because I think the country is safe enough to be there. It’s a great country and I think people who visit are always surprised at how good the country is. It’s no different than any other place, any other city, in the world. If you go to the wrong places, you are going to get in trouble. It’s the same thing in Colombia. At least he isn't like some who bad mouth Colombia or are "so scared of going and getting kidnapped!"
