I know the AUC are brutal and the AUC need to be disarmed but why would the government risk fighting two groups? The government has had enough trouble with the FARC I hope they don’t make the fight twice as hard. I would think the government would focus on the group that threatens the government first then AUC second. I’d rather pick one fight then two.

I never understood why the government wants to disarm the AUC when the government is fighting the FARC and the AUC fights the FARC. Why don’t doesn’t the government wait to disarm the AUC until the FARC is taken care of?

Have a lawyer do your VIsa app I had a lawyer do my app and it has had zero problem. My fiancée has her interview in a couple weeks. Their are too many things that I could have made a mistake on to do it myself. The embassy knows the lawyer and he has had a 100% success rate. To get turned down you must make a mistake and its too complicated of a process to leave to an armature like myself. We have waited 7 months but that was expected.

Since you hate upper class Colombians Do the upper class have something against picking up items they drop on the floor? The last two times I’ve flown to BAQ I have seen people on the airplane either drop things like pillows and napkins and not pick them up o even throw stuff under their seat and the isle of the plane for the stewardess to pick up. Or maybe I’m crazy and just like watching these people too much.

I’m also a gringo with a Colombian girl friend. And she has never asked me for money but I have given her a little every once and a while. I’m no expert t but one thing I observed is Colombians families are closer and support each other. I could see them asking for a little money if one gets unemployed but the money they would need would be a very small amount.
Her brother wants a Yankees shirt, but he never asked for it my girl told me. I figure if I bring him a T-shirt it won’t hurt relations. I also made it very clear that I’m not a bank and on one is to ask for money. We agreed if her family needs money she must work to give it to them.

My fiancée also lives in Barranquilla and I UPS her a computer but it cost $300 to ship it and she had to pay tax when she picked it up. He has dial up and it works great for MSN with a web cam.

I have read that web site many times and agree with some of the points, but I think they apply to many Americans in general, not just women. From my experience with my girl friend in Colombia and American women, Colombians are far less materialistic, more passionate and kinder. My girl friends family likes me for me, not my career or monetary reasons. When I visited her family I got very few questions about my career and more questions about myself and my family. They were very carious about their daughters new gringo boyfriend but not in a way a American family would be. I’ve never been around nicer people that have appreciation of family and values then in Colombia. My Colombian girl friend is the opposite in many ways of the women I have dated and one I have married. She is passionate and likes me for me, not my career or my money. She treats me better then any American girl ever has, and I have had a lot of experience with American girls.
