Jumbo - Anything specific you need to know about Peru? Been to the country and it's rather interesting. If you look gringo, you will get women with minimal amount of work however some of them are prepagadas mijas if not most but you get the upper-hand anyways. Been to Lima three times & last time did the Shaman trip to Iquitos. Interesting trip for one of the rivers that takes you to the amazon area from iquitos to Leticia. If like getaways that get you in touch with your down-to-earth-side, I recommend it. I am Hispanic so I have no problem in what quarters I stay in sometimes so to give you an idea. Life was great it is quite amazing when you see how some people make a living and survive & observe towns in the middle of nowhere. Made me want to stay around get to know a nice Peruvian chica and live my life in content & hopefully happy. I want to do Ecuador and Brazil and self-teaching Brazilian-Portuguese so if you or anyone has been to Brazil or Ecuador, do let me know. Cheers All !!!!!

People - Last time in Cali I needed my shoes to be sewn (sown?)- no joke - was not broke or anything I've been buying the same shoes for the last five years, anyways they told me to go to this place in el centro I think, wish I could remember the parameters but will ask my buddies where was it exactly, oh boy. The cab waited for me and I pretended -while talking to him outside his cab- not to noticed a guy stealing the driver's knife in plain light at 11-something AM & taking away on his bmx. Needless to say I can I was a very lucky person that day. Told the driver to just drive out of hell right aways...

hey Rick - If your budget calls for a good hotel the sheraton in the north on fourth avenue is pretty good but could run about $90 or more a night that's if they still have rooms for the end of the year so you must hurry to reserve a good mid-price hotel. If you're new to Cali, the first time is good to invest in a good place whether the sheraton or not.

Hey CDY - Since you're 99.9% English speaker and gringo, stay in the poblado area although rather "americanized" this is your best shot if you're new to Medellin but do not assume that's the vibe all over Medallo. I was in Poblado for a few days and moved down to calle 70 (or carretera?),was at the portal de la 70 hotel and another fine hotel, think it was called esigma, a block away from the 70 calle. There's also a metro station near those two hotels which I can not believe I dont recall its name at the moment. The latter area is more if you know some Spanish as it's more than to earth vibe than el poblado area. Have fun~. An advice, make sure you somewhat "know" the women you befriend & don't get up and dance/mingle & leave your drink unattended. Cheers

How far from the sexta or say chipichape is this hotel located? By the way, two days ago I called about four times and apparently the other end had a hard time hearing me; I take it it is their line cause five other hotels had been contacted & no problem with them. First it was a woman then it was a man who kept saying they couldn't hear me. Just a note perhaps the line needs to be repair, etc.

I have been to Panama city once for two weeks about a year and half ago. I had no inconveniencies and lots of times I was by myself heading out to the bars & even ended up at a spot where a salsa singer owns a mansion near the Presidential palace- funny how things get forgotten and I'm a Spanish speaker- anyways, although it wasnt a close call, let's just say in my next visit I will stay away from that area at night; a friend took me to some " club" there. Not worth it mates!!! As per the city as a whole - which is a small one after all - it's got a nice laid back environment and it is my list as a place to work eventually - a real big dream dreamed outloud if you may. All in all, I like Panama city. Hey the Panamian women are exotic looking as well. You better have money to spend, it ain' t Cali. By the way, tons of Paisas in vacation or working and lots of Colombians that own business there. Oh you think Cali has hot weather...nah, Panama city can be much hotter than Cali. Also, I was at a nice 4 star hotel in a safe financial area Hey, good luck!

Thanks guys. I am however interested in how happening is Pereira & Manizales in the last week of December. I take it Pereira being the biggest city in the eje cafetero has got a lot more going on and Manizales a bit quiet. Things is whether you know anyone in Cali it is always fun in the feria. Wish i could stay for the Manizales feria but gotta make the money to take these vacations instead of visiting the psychologist.
