Sensitive topic..... What ever your opinion on this topic is, I have enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts. I am new to the Colombian culture, I will be making my 3rd trip there this week. One of the best things about this website is that I am able to learn about the country that I am growing to love. Being able to hear people's thoughts on everything from cold showers to racism is great. Yes, I'm a gringo who doesn't know a whole lot about Colombia...but I want to learn and respect that culture. So thanks to all for expressing your thoughts and opinions.

Suizo is right Online pricing is much different than calling directly. Also, hotels usually give much better rates in person or calling directly than you would get by visiting their website. Gringos get overcharged all the time.

Tom My wife is colombian, and we would like to set up a business we have been planning. It's not a get rich type of thing but I would like to be able to transfer some of the income back to the States. I would also have to pay our American investors.
