thanks... Morpheus - thanks for the info. I've been looking in El Colombiano online and can't say that I've seen any apartamentos amoblados. All of the furnished places I've found came from this site and are well over what I'm willing to spend. Maybe I need to get an actual copy of the paper instead of looking online?

retorno1974 - I recently looked at a 2 bedroom unfurnished apartment w/o utilites in Simon Bolivar for 500.000CP ($210US) a month . It is estrato 4 and not bad at all. I am currenly staying in this area and have not had any issues with saftey. Also a 3 bedroom unfurnished apartment w/o utilities in San Diego for 550.000CP ($230US). Nice area but the rooms were tiny. I can't imagine you would have saftey issues there either.

adrimm I would suggest at least giving your employer a heads up as to you wanting to take some time off eventhough you're not sure yet. I recently took 3 weeks off to go to Belize and Costa Rica and gave my employer several months notice. If I had just strolled in a few weeks in before and asked for the time, I guarantee most of it would have been denied. 3 weeks versus 1 week isn't exaclty apples to apples but I can't see that you would be doing yourself harm by asking now...it could be the difference between an entire week and two days.

Another from work today... One day a teacher had a taste test with her students. She picked a little boy to do the first test. She blindfolded him, put a Hershey kiss in his mouth and asked, "Do you know what it is?" "No, I don't" said the little boy. "Okay, I'll give you a clue. It's the thing your daddy wants from your Mom before he goes to work." Suddenly, a little girl at the back of the room yelled, "Spit it out! It's a piece of ass!!!"

A woman is having an affair during the day while her husband is at work.

Her nine-year-old son comes home unexpectedly, sees the illegal lovers and hides in the bedroom cupboard to watch. Then the woman's husband unexpectedly comes home. She hides her lover in the upboard, not realising that her little boy is in there already.

The little boy says: "Dark in here."
The man says: "Yes, it is."
Boy: "I have a soccerball, do you want to buy it?"
Man: "No, thanks."
Boy: "My dad's outside, I'll call him if you don't buy it!"
Man: "OK, how much?"
Boy: "$25.00."

A few weeks later it happened again and the boy and the lover were in the cupboard together again.

Boy: "Dark in here."
Man: "Yes, it is."
Boy: "I have soccer boots."
The lover, remembering the last time, asks the boy: "How much?" The

A few days later, the father says to the boy: "Grab your ball and

They go to church and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door.

It could be worse... I have a friend that lives in Jaco, Costa Rica and when I asked him for his address, he told me they don't even have a postal system there??

We received our census form in the mail...it asked for all kinds of info including employment status, dependents, how you travel to work, how many miles to work, etc. Aparently they've taken a hint from the bill collectors and call every other day asking when you're going to return the form....getting them to stop bugging me was my motivation to return it asap. This applies to the US BTW...

Mario What part of Houston are you in? Although I haven't been out in quite some time now, I would see more toned chick than fatties on any given night. Maybe I just don't notice it due to my alcohol consumption??? I will agree that it's not that attractive...

You can try to unlock it yourself but I recommend paying someone to do it. It's cheap and you don't run the risk of screwing up a perfectly good phone. I used the company located at the link below...quick turn around and if they can't unlock it, which was the case with one of my phones, they won't even charge you.

Also make sure that your phone will work in Colombia before you unlock it or you just wasted your money. Aparently they use the 850/1900 networks.
