Jesus!, you know just how much the notary charge for marriage outside the notary...bilieve me is way much than 100 dollars, only just that...the only weddings a law at the beach or other places as restaurant or private places in San Andres are the civil priest does not do it...and always remember everything that is in San Andres is bring form outside..speccialy flowers, sets , etc...a wedding of 800usd or 1000 usd is with Notary rights, notary papers & tramits, pictures, video, transportation, nice beach set with flowers, torchs,vels,champagne, cake ,bride bouquet, groom boutonier, bride's hair flowers, music,even the flower girl, so is not expensive for all these things,the simplest weddings are way cheaper than this and compare with other islands prices are pretty good. and remember this is a job many people live from these jobs .

hello Mr Tom , I'm Jannethe From Saiweddings.com, due that the dollar has chaging so much maybe for you in dollar can feel is expensive, when we start the company the chipest package was 400 usd and now that same package is 800 usd and the price in pesos hasn't change that much is becouse the dollar has change,in that time 1 dollar was 2.800 pesos now is 1 dollar = 1.700 but if you compare a beach wedding in another caribbean island with us we are very cheap for what we offer and is not 30 minutes ..is more than that.almost one hour and a half with the ceremony, pictures, toste.etc.I don't thing you want to spent your sunny time looking for photografers..running back and foward to the notary..getting the people, checking evrything is ready and on time...that's our job that's what we do,, tell us how much you want to spend and we can tell you what we can offer you for that to make your wedding day beautifull anad unforgetable. Another thing is there are to airlines flying to San Andres to B/quilla, Avianca & aerorepublica, the cheapest for you is get a Package call A VOLAR from AEROREPUBLICA they sell these package hotel-ticket and comes very very cheap...tell you fiancee to find out in a travel agency due that the web page of them does not have the info.

One girl For now, we know one is a girl, the other one is kind of shy.
This is my second pregancy, and for us is blessing, HUGE BLESSING!!, becouse last year I had a baby girl which burn with some heart problem and couldn't make it, only survived 19 hours..it was so hard for us..but after the Doctor give me the ok, that We can try it again, we tried and then we got pregnant of twins..not treatments..no register of twins in the family neather Arthur's, neather mine...so it's been a blessing..I'm a biliever...
so we are waiting..I'm having them in Bogota. for safety reasons..san Andres is great for Holidays!!, get married., honey moons..etc..but unfurtunaly not very good when a medical complication as so many islands...that's why it happened that to my baby, if she had born in anothet city as a major city, maybe she could make it...that the problem of an island.

Here are the answer to your questions?
REMEMBER HERE IN SAN ANDRES IS TEH ONLY PLACE IN COLOMBIA WHERE THE ONLY THING TO GET MARRIED IS YOUR PASSPORT!!

1) How long will we need to make sure we are on the island for? I assume the notary is only open on weekdays, right?

You will need at least three days, or even in two you can everything done, from monday till saturday.


2) How much is the least expensive option? I'm not lookng for a beach cermony or any of that. We just want a quick wedding without the headache of the paperwork.

Well if you married at the notary you will have to pay only the right that are about $ 120.000 ( about 70 usd)now the dolar is sooo low in reference with the pesos, but if you do not speak spanish you need to hire a oficial Interpretor that traslates your wedding and the moment of the ceremony, the notary does not speak spanish and you fiance can not be the interpretor has to bea outside and legal interpretor but let me know is a dark, humid place very sad for celebrate such a important event as your wedding.

Only passport For the WEDDING only was needed the passport for the Non Colombian person & Cedula and birth certificate (for the Colombian person), if maybe both are non Colombian (only passports).

sponsor well, it seems it is not a problem with San andres, All the procedure to bring your Colombian wife it has to be done in Canada, you need to call : 1 888 242-2100 (in Canada only) they will give you all the info, tell them, you are getting married in Colombia- San Andres, CIVIL WAY and you want to sponsor your wife.

After you get married in San Andres or other city in Colombia you must take your certificate to valid at the Superintendencia de Notariado (calle 26-13-49), Bogota. in Bogota "YOU MUST" they stamp and make it valid , it will take 5 minutes and then translate it in english by a autorize translator, once it hAs been traslate the certificate it needs to be take to the Minister of foreigner relations in Bogota also,(calle 98 No.17-32) pay ($ 25.000) about 12 dolars and then it iS done, Canada it is part of the haya Convetions so it is valid.
Once with your certification the rest is the sponsor part,(Then you need some pacient it can atke some months, call the 1800 number in the top.

This is San Andres you can perform a fast wedding like him in here, or come at least with two days time and seeing that we have this wonderfull seven colour sea and great beach ...have a unforgettable wedding..by the sea. You don't need that much time here, you certificate you get the same day or at least next day, defently work days.
after in here the paper work is in Bogota, in order to valid your wedding in Belgium, first in the "superintendencia de notariado y registro" and then at the "ministerio de relaciones exteriores" this two places you won't take long..you can do both places in a day. then everything will be with the Belgium goverment.
Once again , the weding in San Andres is Civil wedding .
for a catolic wedding then deffently you need lots of time and amny documents.

Well in that case... It is kind of complicate, becouse if you want to married in a catolic church you need to have starting from a baptism, first comunion, confirmation, etc...in order to get married, you can do it obviusly but then you have to do all this ceremonys first.
I strongly advice to have a civil wedding only fist ...for paper matters and slowly at UK or Colombia where you prefer to live, slowly start to do your ceremonys to become a catolic and then have a catolic wedding.

MARRIAGE IN SAI Hello, there, We are so glad you choose our beatifull island to get married. there is a better place.
For get married in here in a catolic church, you will have to go to your church in your area,. don't know if you live in Colombia but if you are in another country then as I said you will have to go to the church of your area and make all the process as if you will going to married in there, all those documents had to be " apostllados" for the colombian Consulate and then they explain you what to do, you come here and get married , One thing to rememeber get married in the catolic way the only place to get married is inside a catolic church, they do not celebrate ceremonys outside the church , so you can not have a catolic wedding at the beach, it has to be in a church. you have to do the civil also.(this one you can do it anywhere)

Get married Dear Flycrazy, let me tell you, some info for you and some others, In order to get married in Colombia, civil weddings ( in main land as Cali, Bogota, Medellin ,Bogotá or another city in Main land in Colombia you as a forenger need Many documents depending your status, and the documents need to be "apostillados" at the consulate, besides that needs to be traduce by a speccial person from the consulate...I'm married to an italian, I got married 5 years ago in Bogotá and had to pass for all that.
Right now there is only one Departament from Colombia ( San Andres Island & providence) where you can get married without all that kind of trouble, is a beautifull island in the caribbean belong to, Colombia Goverment create this law to increase the tourism, as I said before, you as forenger only need the passport & the Colombian lady " her Cedula de ciudadania" Colombian ID and her " Registro civil" with " nota para matrimonio" . Is so easy a completly legal marriage in here and everywhere in the world. and after married you with the married certificate take your selfs to the embassy of your country and get the visa, I also know it, becouse I witness many cases...Let me know if you need further info: calijan at yahoo.com

It is so esasy The new law is to easy things to all those (so many) couples who want to married in a very speccial & romantic place and also those ones who had been having trouble with the papers becouse sometimes get married in Colombia main land can have so many hassle, please this os not for bigamist. ( as the JP said) it is under your own problem and your own risk , if you don't want to be honest with the goverment and the most important thing with partner,it is your problem, another thing, married in this island is absolutly so romantic.
From Colombia Barranquilla or Cartagena to San Andres Island is about an Hour and from Bogotá one hour 45 minutes, the cost it depends the season but both ways is from 300 to 400 usd.
