Transferring money to Colombian Bank Accounts

Was just wondering if this method of getting money to Colombia is a good one?

1. Any issues?
2. Any banks (colombian) better than others? ie do some charge handling fees/commisions on both sides?
(I know if I do it with my online bank (HSBC) I can choose if sender pays OR receiver) But who knows with Colombian Banks?

Reverse Green Card!

I notice there are lots of forum topics, about Green cards and the like.

I was wondering what happens on the other side. I.e. if we marry a colombian, can we just live there? or is there still some sort of wait for residency? Special Visas? Just had a question on Money Transfers... I did my first just recently to colombia (from australia), with MoneyGram (only found out about them from this site, so thanks).

But was wondering if other people have this experience.
i ended up paying about 6% of the value of the transfer in a fee in australia. they said that in colombia there should not be a fee. but as colombia is colombia, there was another fee, which was approximately 4% of the total... ...

Region for DVDs in Colombia???

which is odd, because they say that Australia is in region 4 too. Which is where I live.. but... we use PAL, and I thought Colombia used NTSC...

Just a hello to everyone out here! I came across this site (again) by accident, but it is fantastic! lots of people, and lots of information.

A little about me, I live in Australia, I am Australian, but have just got back from a South American Odysey.. for us in Oz it's far far away... spending some 5 fantastic months in Medellin, and 1 week in Bogota.
