Stupid questions concerning Spanish subtitles

1. I don't have cable TV

2. My TV is old school (only has cable-ready hookup)

Questions:

Can I buy a cheap (newer?) TV that will allow me to display Spanish subtitles for regular network programs?

Is that done thru Closed Captioning only, or is there something else?

What is "SAP" and how does it work? Do I need cable for that? ...

Best places to stay in Bogotá for Visa Interview?

Any suggestions on the best places to stay in Bogotá for the visa interview?

I am most interested in:

1. How close is it to embassy?
2. How cheap is it?
3. Is it a good value for the money?
4. Security/Safety

NOTE: My wife said she is interested in a place she can cook for us (i.e. furnished apartment with kitchen), but I will settle for a reasonably priced hotel as close as possible to the embassy.

Thanks in adva ...

Please help FAST... Booking mult dest flights for Visa Interview

My wife's visa interview is upcoming, and I plan to meet her in Barranquilla, and then fly with her to Bogota. After that, we will be leaving from Bogota to return to the USA.

FYI: Interview = 4/10/2007. Depart from USA = 3/30 or 3/31. Return to USA with wife = 4/12.

Problem is...

1. It has always been a no-brainer to book my previous trips, since they were just from Point A to Point B, and only me flying. Expedia.com has always given me the l ...

How much luggage should I expect my wife to bring?

I travel very lightly, and have never had more than 2 bags... both being carry-on until they started making you check your bags for travelling with toothpaste, cologne, etc.

However I realize that women are wired differently, and my wife may be expecting to bring muchas maletas when she comes to the USA for the first time (to stay).

1. How much luggage should I expect her to want to bring?

2. How much does it cost to bring addtional luggage on the air ...

What happens after CR-1 paperwork transfers from NVC to US Embassy in Bogotá?

Ok, I'm trying to get a grip on what happens when the case transfers from NVC to the Embassy. Specifically I would like the following info:

1. What is the process (highlights, bullet list, whatever I can find out)

2. What is all the documentation that is specifically needed?
(I keep reading about the Mysterious "Packet 3" and "Packet 4", but is there anything else?)

3. Where can I get the forms/documentation (Packet 3, 4, etc.) to pre ...

England/Colombian Marriage Visas Granted in 2 Days?

My Colombian wife says that her Colombian friend is marrying a man from England. She says that after the wedding in Colombia, they will simply go to the Colombian emabassy and receive their visa in 2 days.

I told her I had never heard of anything like that. She said "England is different than the United States".

She also says she knows of an English girl who married a Colombian man. Presto, change-o, visa in 2 days (although that was in the past, not sure how lon ...

Villa Dilla in Barranquilla... BradyVicky?

bradyvicky... my wife went to Villa Dilla today and they quoted her 70,000 pesos for 2 people.

Does that sound right to you? You had said $19-$23 USD per night...

Maybe I'm a little rusty on the exhange rate, or did she not ask enough questions? ...
