Sending text messages to Colombian cells via the internet

I sent a text message via the www.colombia.com website to a relative's cell phone (Comcel). We phoned a short time later to confirm that she had received it. She had received it, but she informed us that Comcel would charge her about 35000 pesos to receive the message. I find that impossible to believe. What kind of rubbish is that? Does anybody know what it really costs for the recipient cell phone user, if anything at all? ...

El norte del Valle del Cauca

I have been hearing some disturbing reports about roving street gangs and indiscriminate shootings/killings in some small town en el norte del Valle del Cauca (Zarzal, La Union, Roldanillo, etc.....towns that I remember as usually being fairly peaceful)). Has anybody in this forum heard any such reports? ...
